Chapter 14 Clueless Guy

The next day, he gets up in fright, because with the lack of a clock he has no idea of the time. Josias goes to the balcony, pays no attention to the girl in the other building, and only analyzes the traffic on the streets. People are going to work and children are going to school. Well, it means that it is not yet eight o'clock.

Josias wears his underwear, determining that the first thing to do with the first payment will be to buy a pack of underwear and boxer shorts to stop sleeping naked. After he pulls on his sweatpants; he picks up the brush and toothpaste and runs down to the bathroom.

When he is walking down the hall, a girl a few years older than him appears and intercepts him. She is a dark blonde and has a bath towel and shampoo in her hands, apparently a novice in the building.

“Excuse me, friend.” She asks Josias, “I'm new here; do you know where the bathroom is?”

“At the end of the hallway,” Josias said, sure that the girl would find the right bathroom for the women. She goes in front of him, but that is not what happens. The girl turns left, into the men's bathroom; and she lets out a cry, covering her mouth with her hand and widening her eyes.

Josias quickens his step, frowning, already understanding what happened. Upon approaching and looking into the men's bathroom, Josias finds a tall, muscular boy, under the shower and soapy, covering his genitals with his hands, equally embarrassed by the girl.

“The ladies’ bathroom is on the right, girl. Sorry!” He speaks in an awkward tone.

The girl revolts and shakes her head, she takes the bottle of shampoo she had dropped on the floor with fright and turns her back on the two without saying anything else.

Josias, still upset by the scene, enters the men's room and closes the door tightly. He addresses the boy harshly, staring at him angrily. “Don't you guys think this can happen? It is not because we live in a slum that we need to lose our sense of civility!”

The boy takes his hands down there and returns to bathe, removing the soap from his body, and removes his face of embarrassment. He doesn't like to be scolded. “And who are you, boy?”

“I have already been in this building for four months and I am always faced with this situation. You are not the only one to take a shower with that door open. It is not just in the bath, I have met several fellows walking only in their underwear through the corridors. There are families here, there are children.”

“Look who's talking!” The guy laughs sarcastically, “You are talking as if you don't belong here! Comrade, we are poor, we don't have that fanciness, no.”

“As I said, poverty is no excuse for a lack of good manners! You cannot live as if no other people are looking at you!”

The guy, frowning, finishes rinsing himself and turns off the shower tap. He doesn't like Josias's tone at all. Who is this kid thinking he's supposed to talk to him like that?

Josias is tired of seeing his fellows in Teodoro's building behaving in a relaxed manner. The fiasco now, of the girl not wanting to see the dude naked in the shower, was the last straw for him, because Josias once again thinks that he must defend the opposite sex. And let's agree that Josias was also tired of seeing men with money to buy many clothes walking almost naked in the building's corridors, in front of women and children. While Josias is only now going to start making money to get rid of that old look.

It is with this in mind that the other guy starts to laugh at the contempt of Josias's face, while he takes the towel to dry himself. “Look who's talking! Aren't you getting twenty-four hours without a shirt? At least I wear a tank top when I leave the house.”

“I have no shirt, now that I have arranged a service for me to be able to buy,” Josias responds, relieving himself mentally with the guy who is covering himself with the towel. No use, he will never get used to being in front of another naked male.

“What do you mean, you ran away from home? What did you do?” The dude laughs again and goes to one of the sinks, where there was already a razor and shaving foam.

“I didn't do anything, but that's beside the point.” Josias replies angrily, going after him, “I just hope that one day people will be able to behave decently even though they have little in the material sense.”

“Ah, man, stop being prissy! I bet you barely bathe here because I rarely see you.” The boy rubs the foam on his face, “You think you're someone of class, you are out of your reality. Locate yourself and stop filling me with patience!”

“I bathe at night just so I don't run into you; this thing about bathing among other men is not my type.” Josias finishes saying this and starts to leave, but the other guy's laughter catches up with him.

“Ha, ha, ha! Is that really it? Look, from where I know, a guy who has this primness means something else!...”
