All planned

Caleb looked at his boss and scoffed. He had always known his boss Henry to be a man of deceit and cunningness.

Caleb had been working for Henry for up to four years and this particular year would make it the fifth year but he had never known Henry to be someone of integrity or compassion.

He had also come to know Henry as a man who would always put himself first before thinking about any other person.

He would usually go out of his way to get what he set his mind to get irrespective of who he hurt in the process.

Caleb had tried to avoid getting into Henry's bad books and so he always tried to meet Henry's almost inhuman expectations and conditions.

Working as Henry's assistant was almost a daily torture as Henry was a very difficult man to please.

Caleb could vividly remember the first time he had met Henry.

He had just been sent an email regarding his employment and with happiness and joy in his heart, he resumed work the next Monday.

Caleb wanted to make a good first impression so he had scraped out the little money that he had been saving to get himself a new suit but unknowingly to him, that was his greatest undoing.

Henry had always been a person of low self-esteem and so he hated being outshined by anyone.

He made sure that everyone around him was always looking and dressing dully while he alone would dress to the moon in vibrant and cheerful colors but he made sure that his employees only wore dull-coloured clothes.

"I believe nobody has given you the orientation yet!" Henry barked at Caleb who shifted back to fear and confusion.

"I'm very sorry sir." Caleb apologized though he did not know what offense he committed, he just felt that was the necessary thing to do.

"What are you apologizing for?" Henry had asked him.

Caleb looked at him speechless.

He knew that Henry was aware that he did not know exactly what he was apologizing for but Henry just wanted to humiliate him.

Caleb began to wonder what his offense was.

"I guess you don't even know what you are apologizing for and yet you still apologized making me look like a bad person." Henry accused him while giving Caleb the death stare.

"I'm sorry sir, it was never my intention to make you appear like a bad person." Caleb apologized again bowing his head respectfully.

"Well, I will have mercy on you and cut to the chase." Henry said.

"I need you to look around and tell me one thing you notice that everyone here had in common," Henry instructed Caleb.

Caleb turned to look around the building and observed the staff.

It took him a little while before he finally understood what Henry was pointing out to him.

"Everyone is putting on dull-coloured grey suits except for you and I sir." Caleb pointed out.

"Good, you are a sharp one! Now look at yourself and tell me what you are putting on." Henry instructed Caleb.

"I'm putting on a blue suit," Caleb said bending his head as he cussed himself for his lack of observation.

However, he was not completely at fault because it was not stated in his employment letter that there was a color code in the office.

"Now, you know where you are at fault!" Henry said.

"Yes sir, I apologize for my lack of observation, it will not repeat itself," Caleb said apologizing for the umpteenth time that morning.

"Of course, there will not be an opportunity to repeat this silly mistake because this would be the first and the last time that you would ever get to wear this suit again," Henry announced to Caleb.

"What!" Caleb said.

Before Caleb could comprehend and make sense of what Henry meant, he felt the stinging pain of hot liquid on his suit.

Shocked, he noticed that Henry had poured his hot coffee on him.

The staff that were around all gasped in shock but they quickly averted their eyes so as not to become a scapegoat.

Henry was not yet done with Caleb because he brought out a blade and used it to slash different parts of the suit not caring if Caleb got injured in the process.

By the time he was done, the suit was in shreds and Caleb was close to tears.

"This will teach you the number one rule of this company which is: nobody outshines Henry," Henry said mercilessly as he began to walk to his office.

"Come on boy, there is much work to be done!" Henry said to a shocked Caleb.

That was the beginning of Henry's hatred for Caleb

. But what escalated it was when the CEO of the biggest company in the country paid a visit to the company and complimented Caleb over Henry.

Henry could not stomach what he termed the insult of the century.

After that day, he secretly began to think of plans to get back at Caleb in the most humiliating way ever.

The opportunity finally came when Caleb got married.

He began to investigate Jenny and he found out she was the owner of a new rising cosmetic company.

He knew that Jenny was someone with high standards that Caleb would not be able to meet up with.

Ten months into their marriage, he started dating Jenny secretly but he felt now was the perfect time to expose their relationship to Caleb. but he wanted to do it in the most humiliating way ever.

He used the necklace issue as an excuse and promised Jenny that he was going to get it for her if she was ready to reveal their relationship to Caleb.

Jenny who was already fed up with the many excuses Caleb was giving her concerning the necklace quickly agreed and that was how they planned for Caleb to meet them at the hotel.
