Ch-42 : Cold

Jack's voice cut through the air, sharp and commanding,

"Who told you to act like it is your house and cook?"

As Jack released Amy's hand, his words caught her off guard. She could feel the weight of his anger bearing down on her, as his tone was cold and unforgiving, without any trace of warmth or understanding towards her.

Her heart sank at his accusatory question, and for a few moments, she struggled to find the right words to respond.

She had only wanted to do something nice, to show her gratitude for all that he had done for her. But now, she felt like she had overstepped her boundaries, like she had intruded on his space without permission.

Meanwhile, even Jack noticed her flinching slightly at his words, the hurt evident in her eyes. His tone was harsh, his demeanor distant… he knew that he had become too cold because of his past, but he was too consumed by his own anger to notice or care.

Jack's mind raced with questions, his frustration growing with each passing second.
