Chapter 143

Inside the police station, Ryan felt his heart racing. The officers guided his every step, and clomping shoes formed a tense rhythm that accompanied his footsteps. He tried to swallow the panic that swept through him. A few reporters stared at him, but they weren't allowed in when he went inside. This relieved Ryan. At least there were no more annoying eyes of the reporters.

When they entered the interrogation room, the door opened, and unfamiliar faces looked at him with curiosity and, often, scorn. Ryan tried to hold his head up, showing that he still had a bit of self-respect.

Shortly after he sat down, the sound of the door opening again broke the silence. A large man with a stern aura entered. His face looked fierce, but there was something familiar in his gaze. Ryan recognized the man as his father.
