That afternoon a school bus bearing the 15 Science Class students of Grade 10 drove from the school, its destination being the haunted house in the woods outside of Crimson Springs. No art student had been chosen for the excursion. It was either they were too afraid or some other reason well-known to Pinmaker. As the school bus drove onto the highway the students chosen for the excursion couldn't help but begin to chat among themselves, wondering how the haunted house would look like. Miss Pinmaker who had also joined the excursion sat near the driver listening to their conversations with a complicated expression which no one could read.Daniel who sat close to the window beside Selene was busy looking out through the glass as he wondered what Pinmaker was up to. He didn't know why but he suddenly had a very bad feeling about the whole excursion. He wanted to tell the others but he knew very well that they were stubborn and wouldn't believe him. Also it was very late now and the excur
When they walked into the sitting room the students couldn't help but hold their breathes. The sitting room was probably the biggest sitting room they had ever seen. Only the Rodolfos and Felicia remained indifferent to the size since they had way bigger sitting rooms in their manors. There were very large pillars which stood in the sitting room, vines curling around them. There were well arranged furnitures, all of them caked in dust which had accumulated over decades. The floor was covered with a red rug which had weeds seeping through it. The windows were almost darkened from the dust and it was impossible for them to be penetrated through by light. The students were lost in observations and admirations but not Daniel, Orpheus and Selene. Their expressions had become solemn as they observed everything. There's a weird smell coming from this place, Daniel thought as he turned to look at Selene. The latter curled her lips into a smile in a habitual manner but Daniel knew that she was
Mr. Stark rubbed his eyes and yawned noisily as he sat upright on the chair which he had been seated on since last night. There were several pieces of papers crumbled up on his reading desk, all of them filled with writings and drawings. His face had a tired expression and his whole body was slumped down with fatigue. He had not had a decent sleep since he began the voyage last year. With each sleepless night he had, he was more resolved about finding the abyssal zone which members of the Abyss Cult spoke about. But recently it wasn't the abyssal zone which troubled him, making him fatigued. No, he had actually kept his cool after the whole matter. It was the abnormalities being portrayed by Don and Black. They had been behaving abnormal since they began looking at the black fog through the telescope. With each coming day they appeared more withdrawn to themselves, staying up every night in their cabins as they scribbled away in their diaries. They even began muttering things which no
Don's body could not withstand the tremendous attacks and was instantly reduced into a bloody meatball of shattered bones. More blood dyed the whole place, everywhere becoming filled with the stench of decayed body. But no matter how Don had being punched and his bones destroyed, he didn't fall to the ground and die. It was as if his entire structure wasn't supported by bones. It was as if something else was maintaining his posture."This isn't something I can fight," Mr. Stark wasn't a rash person and instantly came to a conclusion. He turned to look at the door and saw that no one was rushing to help him."Huh?" he was surprised as he slowly walked backwards, moving away from Don who looked terrifying in this state.Mr. Stark had actually caused the whole commotion so that the others would hear him and come to his aid. In fact they would have all rushed down here to help him after hearing the loud thud from the collapsing of the metallic door. But nobody was here even after the whol
The veins covered Mr. Stark completely, squeezing him into a roll of crimson red pulsing with demonic aura. The faces on the walls and floor all smiled in unison as they saw him being completely swallowed by the veins. By doing this he was going to be transformed into a monster like them—he was going to become a son of Abyss.Mr. Stark who was swallowed up by the veins couldn't breathe again as he struggled for his life all to no avail. He couldn't even move a single part of his body much more break free from the veins which creeped over his entire body, giving him an undescribable sensation which made him feel as if he was burning while at the same time feeling a great coldness. His body, spirit and soul began burning rapidly so that he was slowly replaced by a different entity—a murderous monster which only relied on instinct rather than reasoning. His entire body went numb as if it was no longer part of his existence—as if the body belonged to another entity.This...can't...be...my
The door to the room was suddenly flung open, Miss Pinmaker and the other students filling up the doorway. They had heard the commotion and immediately rushed to ascertain the cause of everything. Strangely there was no one in the room.Seeing this, the whole surrounding suddenly turned eerie and cold as if they had been exposed to the coldness of the night. The hairs on the bodies of everyone stood as they stared at the empty room. Where had Morgana gone? And where was his brother?"Ma'am, where did they go?" Mary asked fearfully as she nudged at her spectacles. She would dart her head fearfully behind her at times, causing her brown hair to flutter. But everyone knew this. There was no one behind her."I honestly don't know," Miss Pinmaker shrugged. "They'd probably gotten frightened by the whole haunted house stuff and I've left with the driver."The other students weren't buying her stuff much more Daniel who had known this beforehand. They all stared at the Principal suspiciously
As everyone ran the whole corridor was suddenly filled with a bloody fog that prevented everyone from seeing an inch from their faces. No one knew where they were heading to as they ran without seeing.Daniel tried using his sense of hearing to pinpoint his direction but it wasn't working. It seemed the bloody fog had filtered all his senses. Now he had to rely on his luck not to run into an unfavourable condition. This haunted house had proven to be truly gory as Miss Pinmaker had said. What was her purpose anyway? Did she belong to the Abyss Cult and wanted to use the students she brought for sacrifice? Many questions ran through Daniel's mind but he had no way of answering them. All he knew now was that Miss Pinmaker was an evil person who had lured the students to die in an unknown haunted house.Daniel brought out his phone and wanted to see if there was reception but the bloody fog didn't even allow him see the phone's screen. Even when he brought it very close to his eyes he co
"Hello," Jessica said as she walked through the bloody fog. "Anyone there?"Her voice echoed through the silent corridor which seemed to be endless, causing her body to shiver uncontrollably. It was an eerie scene. Seeing that no one replied and it seemed she was the only one here, she decided to keep quiet and find a way to get out of the haunted house.I have to leave here alive, Jessica told herself as her red eyes darted around but it was all in vain as she couldn't even see an inch away from her face in the bloody fog. It seemed all her senses had been robbed away from her. Placed in such a dangerous situation she felt like crying but the tears wouldn't just come out. It was during this moment she remembered how Daniel had been trying to dissuade them from going on the excursion. No one had believed him then—absolutely no one—and now all of them had ended up in a real haunted house. The smell of pepper drilled into her nostrils all of a sudden, causing her to cough violently.
