Following the small goblin

Isaac once offended his classmates because he was told to follow her. It should be nothing noteworthy in the school, but his classmate felt disgusted by his personality. The girl saw his friend and chatted with her for five minutes, but Isaac felt impatient and grabbed the girl’s hand, and it immediately left a bad taste in the other girl.

Isaac had always been impatient that he treated seconds as minutes. Time was gold, his motto. Therefore, he grew annoyed by the system’s demand for acquiring skills only he invested time. However, Isaac always moved on rather than wasting time complaining about it.

“I should follow him then.” Isaac set his eye locked on the small goblin. “He seemed to have a loud-talking mouth. If I followed someone introverted, then I might spend weeks learning the skill.”

Isaac silently followed the small goblin running while carrying something on his chest. The other goblin looked at him as they smiled, but some gave him an envious stare. Thankfully, no one followed him since the goblin respected the rules, even though some of them were against their nature.

Isaac was trying hard to catch up to the goblin for the latter was fast, probably because of his small size. Not only that, Isaac had to make sure the distance of other goblins between him was no more than ten meters to avoid garnering their attention. Thankfully, with his passive skill, Split consciousness, it didn’t take a toll on his mind.

Eventually, the goblin was about to reach the village wall on the west side of the village. Isaac was even confused to see the small goblin still running even though the street he was taking was lacking in population. It was probably because the place wasn’t in the center of the village. Or maybe because it wasn’t meant to live. However, despite the bewilderment, Isaac didn’t question the small goblin. After all, how could he be in the first place?

“A house? Here in this place?”

Isaac noticed in the distance a small house was built. The structure and the outline were quite a mess, probably the person who built it was only trying to build this by putting the pieces together, and making sure the house wouldn’t fall. Isaac didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at the handiwork of this crap, he could even demolish them by poking in a particular part of the house.

“Somewhere live in the house? Seriously? Is he or she bedridden?”

Isaac noticed in the distance a small house was built. The structure and the outline were quite a mess, and probably the person who built it was only trying to build this by putting the pieces together and making sure the house wouldn’t fall. Isaac didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at the handiwork of this crap; he could even demolish them by poking in a particular part of the house.

“What if the bedridden goblin didn’t even have a comfortable bed to lie in? The poor goblin might instead be lying on the rugged surface of the ground!”

The dungeon ground, which even the village floor wasn’t filled with grass or soil, was a rock-hard surface. Therefore, it was indeed uncomfortable to sleep if they treated it as their bed.

“I should hurry. It seemed he started talking.”

Isaac immediately hasten the flap of his wings, and eventually entered the small house. He could finally hear what the small goblin was saying, but it was incomprehensible. He understood nothing of it.

However, for some reason, hearing the tone of the small goblin filled with assurance and a hint of concern. Isaac was perked up with interest. Therefore, a brilliant idea suddenly came into his mind.

“System, can I have the skill, Record? I want to record what he is saying, and play it once I learn the skill, goblin language.”

[Searching… Found… Registered. With the host’s skill, Split consciousness, and enhanced thinking, the host can learn the skill, Voice Record.]

Isaac heaved a sigh of relief because the system didn’t demand to use any of his time. After all, if he does, then he could probably only record the end of their conversation.

[You have learned the unique skill, Voice record.]

[Activating the skill…]

{Just what happened to you, little sis? Since the time the chief discovered this hidden place and built it as our village. You have been experiencing a cold. At first, it was only mild, but it is now worsening!}

Isaac felt a second voice imitating the small goblin’s gibberish. As expected it was indecipherable. However, he decided to play it later on. Although Isaac felt bored after not a minute passed, he patiently hovered and listened to the small goblin. In the end, he decided to land in a spot, which was difficult to notice him.

{Don’t worry. I will do my very best to find a cure. Even though the only doctor in our village couldn’t find the cause. The magical door outside was filled with treasures. Just don’t think I will come across against beasts. All of you need to do is pray that I can discover an herb that can restore your health!}

The small goblin with a little twin puny tails tried hard to look into his brother’s eyes, smiling and said.

“Okay.”

A second passed, and she returned to puffing out a hot breath. The small goblin felt worried and realized he should cook soup, so his sister could finally have a meal.

Before he stood up, he caressed her forehead filled with longing love, but the heat didn’t last their physical contact before he knitted his eyes brows from worrying. Resolving himself, he decided to make soup after pulling upward the sack that prevented her sister from feeling the cold from the breeze.

Isaac hovered before the little goblin for a second, before he realized she was a girl from her reply. He couldn’t help but pity her, but only if he realized the little girl had been experiencing the same sickness for more than a month, he might be thinking of saving her.

Isaac then followed the small goblin, who placed the object he carried, and tried hard to recognize them. A bottle filled with liquid inside, and a grain, which was probably rice, were inside a sack. Isaac then realized the small goblin’s intention for venturing outside was probably to get them.

How admirable, he thought.

Back in the modern world, who would do their best to the point of endangering themselves just to have a bag of rice and a bottle of water? Probably, only the children and parents who were suffering from famine could only perform it.

Hearing no talking coming from the small goblin, Isaac had an idea. He decided to analyze the small goblin. However, he immediately recalled he had already done it. However, he didn’t know the name of the creature and thus asked the system if he could know about it through the skill, Analysis.

[The host needed to upgrade the skill, Analysis.]

Isaac was disappointed to hear the answer. In the end, out of boredom, he decided to analyze the little sister and was shocked to find out.
