I'm a mosquito?

“Activate the chain skill.”

Isaac hovered before the other wild boar tusk, peacefully eating the grass scattered in the ground of the dungeon. Their stomach was enormous that even an hour of eating grass couldn’t satisfy them. Thankfully, the grass was almost common at every place, since the current place was home to the beast.

[You have activated the Chain skills, Charge > Mosquito bite.]

Currently, there was no thread, which showed the path for Isaac to take earlier. Isaac kept his vision to the beating heart of the wild boar tusk, feeling nervous for the first time. However, with the aid of the chain skill, all Isaac needed to do was to keep his consciousness awake, making sure the mosquito bite would activate once he pierced the heart.

The performance ended splendidly without a hitch. The wild boar tusk died, landing on the ground without understanding what had happened. As expected, the carcass was devoid of blood, for it was absorbed entirely by Isaac, who immediately digested it. Isaac recovered his empty energy, feeling invigorated from the digestion.

[Level up.

Status.

Name: Isaac March

Title: None

Dungeons Conquered: None.

Level: 2

Experience: 0/30

Skills: Common Skill, Mosquito bite, and Charge.

Unique Skills, Analysis, and Digestion.]

Isaac felt excited hearing the system’s announcement. However, he was bewildered when he received no reward. He decided to ask the system regarding the feature of leveling up.

[The level-up and the experience feature was created due to the host's desire to keep track of his improvements. If the host desired, the system can change it to rank or anything the host wanted of whatever type of hierarchy he fancied.]

Isaac was stunned and wanted to rebuke the system, but he remembered mentioning what level he was.

“But will you reward me depending on the achievements I acquired?”

“System?”

[The host is correct. If the host acquired a new title, he would be rewarded with a new skill, depending on what title have you obtain. It also applied to the dungeon you conquered.]

“I see.”

Isaac then remembered about him acquiring skills earlier even though he didn’t conquer the dungeon or unlock the title. For example, the unique skill of analysis and digestion. He was confused about how he acquired it. Thus, he questioned the system about it.

[Provided the condition has been met.]

Although the system answer was vague and not detailed enough, Isaac understood the gist of it.

“So basically, I can unlock any skills only if I meet the condition to acquire them?

That’s pretty…. Cheat.”

Isaac sneered at his thought, feeling excited after the discovery of unlocking skills from the system. He then recalled how he acquired the skills earlier, such as analysis, digestion, charge, and other skill. When he absorbed the blood of the wild boar tusk, he unlocked the skill, which he didn’t want to mention.

The blood could be absorbed, but only its nutrients not the skill of the owner. Therefore, the skill, digest, was acquired to digest the skill through its blood.

Meanwhile, the analysis skill. For Isaac, the most awarded skill he acquired was this. Analysis, basically he could analyze the blood he would digest, the creature he defeated, and even the carcass before him. However, it seemed there would be a limit.

“System, please analyze this dungeon.”

[Dungeon: ??

Description: Not enough information.]

In the end, as long as he could get access to even a little bit of information regarding this dungeon, he would eventually analyze it. While Isaac couldn’t stop thinking of how to cheat his system, he landed before the carcass of the wild boar tusk. There was no difference and the only reason why he wanted to study it. It was for him to have a better understanding of his new vision.

“My vision isn’t great like my vision before I died. This is strange, just what creature have I transformed?”

One of the reasons why Isaac never mentioned the Mosquito bite skill, even though it had been shown by the system multiple times on his status. It’s because he couldn’t admit how he become, which was a mosquito. However, as the saying goes, there would be no secrets that would not come to light.

Therefore, when Isaac continued to study the cadaver of the wild boar tusk, he saw a crystal transparent shape in its body of it. Isaac wondered what it was, for such a solid material was hidden inside the body of the creature. He hovered before it, and study it for some time.

Eventually, the crystal transparency was similar to the mirror, which surprisingly made Isaac see his appearance. He couldn’t help but gasped and flapped his wings backward, wanting to get away. However, the vision he saw was engraved deep in his mind.

Furthermore, he tried to deny the fact that it wasn’t him and thought it was only a creature drawn in the crystal, but the wings moved when he ordered it. It was then he confirmed what he had become.

“I’m a mosquito?”

[The beast core of the wild boar tusk

Quality: lowest.

Note: The lowest quality beast core holds no value, while the higher quality beast core holds value. The beast core was formed through the natural energies gathered inside the beast body, and it’s valuable to the others who would absorb them, boosting their physical ability depending on the beast core type.]

Isaac heard the system’s explanation. It had been tough for him to accept what he had become, even to the point of ignoring the mosquito bite skill. In the end, Isaac had to accept it and move on. Thankfully, this type of behavior wasn’t new to him, and he was easy to move on for something better than regretting it. However, it still took him so much time to do so. After all, it was hard to accept what he had become.

Due to his curiosity, he analyzed the transparent white crystal with the help of the system. It turned out it was a beast core. He couldn’t be more familiar than it.

“As expected, this is too similar in a game. I may be inside a dungeon in the game, right? Maybe I should continue to explore before thinking about what dungeon I am in.”

The only creature he had come across was only the wild boar tusk. Hence, Isaac thought for a minute that maybe a demon-rank wild boar tusk would be the boss, but he still wasn’t sure. After all, if it was, then the system might have recognized it. Although the system might not read his memories, it didn’t really seem to be the case. For some reason, he felt the system and he became one, so he wouldn’t be surprised if the system read his memories.

“System, have you read my memories?”

Well, he couldn’t know if he wouldn’t ask, thus to satisfy his curiosity he questioned.

[It’s inevitable.]

Isaac nodded his head, not feeling there would be something wrong with it. Should he doubt the system if it would betray him and would take over his soul? Why the system hadn’t done it when he died, then? Letting his soul disperse and then the system would take over it. However, it didn’t and even called him a host, which only erased his suspicion of the system. Well, he didn’t have it in the first place.

“I’m not the type of person who doubted my benefactor. I’m already indebted enough for giving me another life. It may be a dream, delusion, hallucination, or whatever it is. I enjoyed it. Break it as you like. I have no regrets.”

This time he didn’t call for the system because he knew it would answer once he called out its name. He only wanted to send him a message, even though it might not reach the system. Giving out such a speech also lightened the burden on his heart, making his mind carefree from negative things.

Isaac continued to study the beast's core for a while, not intending to absorb it or whatsoever. Just like what the system had said, it was no use for him unless it was a high-quality beast core.

In the end, he was interrupted by a moving outline with a thermal color on the body. Isaac was surprised at what type of creature it was. He then saw it moving in the other wild boar tusk he killed earlier. He then asked the system to analyze it.
