“System, can you calculate the success probability of killing the beast combine with charge and my other skill targeting its beating heart?”
Isaac decided to ask the system without much thought. He didn’t think that depending on the system might be considered biased. Isaac didn’t feel guilty about it. Some might think having a system, while others don’t, was a cheat, but it didn’t mean he wouldn’t make use of the blessings he received, right?
It was like you were asking a child, birthed by a noble parent, to stop depending on them. It was ridiculous, to say the least. It wasn’t his fault he was born with an astonishing background. The same situation applies to Isaac; the system chooses him, so he should make use of it.
[Analyzing is in the process…]
[Analysis complete. Data has been gathered.
The wild boar tusk had an enormous body, and it was disadvantaged against little creature….]
Isaac continued to listen regarding the system’s thoughts and didn’t hasten to direct to the point. He patiently waited until he learned about the system’s data. In the end, the probability was eighty percent, it included the probability of every scenario despite having a low chance to happen.
Although the result wasn’t higher than Isaac expected, he still couldn’t stop overthinking about the other twenty percent. The system had already explained what the other twenty percent could happen, which would result in a failure. Isaac knew the chances it would happen were slim to none. However, there would be a question popping into his head of why would the system raised it and deemed it twenty percent if it was unlikely to happen.
In the end, Isaac decided to execute the plan. He doesn’t want to waste any more time. He waited until he could activate the charge, which was a conditional skill. The skill would be canceled once Isaac would change direction. Since the heart of the wild boar was located in the lower chest, behind the shoulder, Isaac didn’t know if his needle part, which served as a catalyst of his other skill, was tall enough to reach it.
He felt conflicted.
Although, he could have charged in a curve direction and injected his needle mouth below the wild boar tusk body, which should have its heart near the skin. The charge skill was conditional, so it would be interrupted. Furthermore, the charge skill needed a distance to cover, so it could deal more power. Therefore, Isaac couldn’t hover below the wild boar tusk and activate his charge to penetrate the heart at such a low distance.
Isaac now realized that his decision was leaning on the twenty percent that the system said. Just like what the latter had explained, the other twenty percent practically have zero chance to happen because of the flaws regarding his skills.
“As expected, common skills such have a huge flaw.”
If it wasn’t because of his bloodlust, which killed the wild boar tusk earlier, it would have been impossible to kill it. The reason was that the bloodlust gave him the location where the veins were near to its skins, so Isaac could penetrate it, not the muscles. However, now Isaac wasn’t in such a state, Isaac could only depend on his vision.
“The system had already given me the plan to execute? Why am I trying to create my own, which completely contradicted the system?” he thought.
He couldn’t help but laugh inside. As expected, he was trying to deny the other’s helping hand towards him. He had been acting this way back when he was still living on Earth. One of the reasons why didn’t have a long-term friend.
“I should trust the system and follow the thread he created.”
Whenever the wild boar tusk moved, the transparent thread would move. The thread was pointing toward the beast’s beating heart, while it was telling him to follow it. If he followed it, he could kill it. The thread was firmly straight, which told him to activate his skill charge and follow the thread. And once the thread enter the beast’s body, Isaac noticed what it enter was the softest part of the wild boar tusk.
Only a minority of them was a muscle, but enough to penetrate with his needle mouth.
“Skill charge activate.”
[You have activated the skill, Charge.]
Following the system’s voice, Isaac flapped his wings a single time and straightened them for propulsion. The distance was five meters, and each meter the skill covered, it would increase twice the amount of speed. Hence, when Isaac covered five meters, his speed would increase five times!
Isaac could feel the barrier of the wind, trying to slow his dashed, but it was useless. Isaac didn’t even blink, or so he tried but he couldn’t and continued to stare at the thread, following it obediently. Once he was near the outline, which he thought should be the skin of the wild boar tusk, he activated his other skill.
[You have activated the skill, Mosquito bite.]
He ignored the system’s voice and continued to follow the thread. Once his needle mouth contacted the skin, he imagined a scene, in which his nose might bend due to the toughness of its skin. He felt scared and tried to deactivate the skill but to no avail.
[The skill, Charge, can’t be stopped.]
“Bullshit!”
Isaac cursed, and wanted to close his two large compound eyes but he couldn’t. Surprisingly, he saw he had now entered the wild boar tusk body, and remembered the feeling when he cut the tofu with his sharp knife. It was the same feeling when he entered the beast's body with his sharp needle mouth.
He felt it was thrilling.
Once Isaac penetrated the beast’s heart, and in a second, he absorbed all its blood, from head to toe! In a single split second! The beast couldn’t react as it died without knowing how! It couldn’t even shriek for Isaac didn’t give him a chance!
Since the charge couldn’t be stopped, Isaac continued to dash and exited the wild boar tusk body! The latter landed on the ground with a thud! Its noise was loud enough to be heard by the other wild boar tusk as it stopped eating the grass for a minute.
It didn’t know where the noise came from, and hearing there was no other noise. It decided to forget about it, and continued to eat the grass without care, not knowing its fellow beast died!
Isaac continued to charge and eventually collided with the wall of the dungeon. It was tough, as he could only penetrate not deeper than ten centimeters despite the speed, and his sharp needle mouth penetrated the wild boar tusk in a single second! Isaac could only wonder how rugged the materials were to create the dungeon wall.
“Ouch, Ouch!”
Isaac struggled to stand up as he felt tired and ached all over his body.
[Host is in an exhausted state. Does the Host want to activate the skill, Digestion, to replenish your energy?]
“Yes.”
[You have activated the skill, Digestion.]
Isaac’s bulging stomach slowly became slim while feeling the euphoria of his energy recovering. Isaac indulged the pleasure of his stamina recovering, and he couldn’t help but be astonished as he felt he return to his peak.
“If I keep killing others, devour their blood and digest it. Does that mean I can become a killing machine?”
He wondered as the voice of the system interrupted his thought.
[Provided the condition has been met. You have acquired the Chain skill, Charge > Mosquito bite.]
“Chain skill?”
Isaac was familiar with this skill, but he couldn’t help but be surprised the system had this feature. He then recalled how he activated the different skills at once, and it’s indeed a chain skill.
Isaac admitted if it wasn’t because of the thread the system showed to him and followed, there would be some failure or blunder regarding activating the same skills simultaneously. However, with the help of chain skill activation, Isaac didn’t need to worry about meeting the condition to activate the skill without interrupting the other, even without the aid of the thread.
“Does that mean I could now activate both the skills, which is only activating the chain skill, instead of activating them individually?”
“System?”
[The host is correct.]
“Activate the chain skill.”Isaac hovered before the other wild boar tusk, peacefully eating the grass scattered in the ground of the dungeon. Their stomach was enormous that even an hour of eating grass couldn’t satisfy them. Thankfully, the grass was almost common at every place, since the current place was home to the beast.[You have activated the Chain skills, Charge > Mosquito bite.]Currently, there was no thread, which showed the path for Isaac to take earlier. Isaac kept his vision to the beating heart of the wild boar tusk, feeling nervous for the first time. However, with the aid of the chain skill, all Isaac needed to do was to keep his consciousness awake, making sure the mosquito bite would activate once he pierced the heart. The performance ended splendidly without a hitch. The wild boar tusk died, landing on the ground without understanding what had happened. As expected, the carcass was devoid of blood, for it was absorbed entirely by Isaac, who immediately digested i
[Creature: GoblinDescription: A low-level type of monster, who was known for its grotesque appearance, greenish skin, and vicious, cunning, and sadistic.Note: Once you see them, check twice if they died, or they can grab you along with them on the journey to hell.]Of course, Isaac knew the hell of them. They are low-level, but they were the most hated monster in the early level of the game. Newbies always fall from their tricks, like playing dead, and embarrassingly Isaac was one of them. The System probably trying to warn him out of sincerity, but Isaac felt it was for him to remember the humiliation the goblin brought on him.Isaac even remembered many NPC’s issuing missions regarding the goblin. The most tragic of them all was a father issuing a mission for an adventurer to save his daughter, who was abducted by the goblin. The father and the child only wanted to have their joyous moments by spending their time on a picnic, but due to his ignorant. He didn’t know they were near
“I have acquired a skill just like that?” When he came to his senses, the goblin finally stopped before a wall. Isaac was surprised to see a shape and outline of a dungeon wall before the goblin. “It seems the goblin reach a dead end.” Isaac pondered as he immediately got frantic when he saw the goblin’s little circle shape turning to face him. He immediately decided to take action not to be seen by it. “System, activate charge skill!” [You have activated the skill, Charge.] As the goblin turned its head hastily due to its panic, Isaac didn’t notice his thoughts working faster than before. He called for the system to activate his skill in 0.0005 seconds, causing the system to respond in the same way. Halfway through the goblin’s turning its head, the skill has been activated. However, Isaac knew he had messed up. Due to his thoughts moving faster than reality, his mind and body failed to react in a single moment. However, thanks to Isaac’s quick reactions, he managed to point
The small goblin entered the village, and he saw his kin having their leisurely life. Some children were swinging their swords diligently, while others were playing with their same age. Most of the kids were doing mischievous things to the Elder, for which they would be scolded afterward.Meanwhile, the adult and married ones were gossiping with nonsense news, clearly, they were women. And while Men were talking about how great their dragon was, which subdued their partners in bed.The small goblin passes through them, and his panicking face does not escape the other goblin’s eyes. They couldn’t help but ponder what he was panicking about, and once they saw the direction he was heading. They couldn’t help but be affected as well. After all, the small goblin was heading to the Chief’s abode location. The small goblins were clearly heading there to report for something. The small goblins were also kind of famous in the village. He was known for venturing outside, scavenging even little
An hour earlier, the two guard’s voices sounded inside the hut. However, the village chief was conversing with someone, so it took an hour for the village chief to be completely annoyed about the guards and decided to shut them up.In addition, the inside of the hut was considerably vast. After all, instead of calling it a chief’s hut, it would be more suited to call it the headquarters. The chief would sometimes gather people inside to converse in an important conversation. While he would let other people work inside the hut to supervise their progress.Similar to now, the village chief was conversing with the most important person in the village. The village chief was talking about the person’s progress regarding his progression of magic, but he was disappointed to receive the report. He couldn’t hasten him, though, for he doesn’t have power enough to act like it.The village chief was respectful, and each of his tones was polite and formal. Therefore, when he received disappointing
“You’re exaggerating him.” The old goblin looked at the village chief, smiling like an idiot, and shook his head from his silliness. “Do you know why I’m confident?”The village chief nodded his head, and the sparkling eyes didn’t escape the old goblin’s vision. He didn’t mind it because he knew the village chief was obsessed with his magic. Or rather, the village chief was hungry for such power.“Watch me, then.”The old goblin sneered in confidence, before opening his mouth as he was muttering gibberish incomprehensible words. The village chief knew what he was doing even though he understood nothing about what the old goblin was saying. The old goblin was chanting to summon the power of magic! The village chief couldn’t help but imagine himself doing the exact same thing and then summoning a power out of magic. He even imitated the old goblin once when the old goblin summoned a fireball that incinerated the target. It was also fast, even though he knew he could react, but with tens
[You have learned the skill, Silent Flap.] “Finally!” After spending five hours flapping his wings, Isaac finally gained the skill he desired. Although he didn’t acquire the chain skill from the combination of the split-consciousness and enhanced thinking, it didn’t discourage him. “It’s probably because I can use them however I want. I don’t even need the system’s consent to activate them.” Passive skills are a special type of skill that differed from others, especially normal skills. They were always active and sometimes only triggered once a specific condition had been met. They didn’t need to be activated because they would only activate on their own. Although there was a clear distinct difference between the passive skills and the Split consciousness and Enhanced thinking of Isaac, he felt they were similar. “Anyhow, now that I acquired the skills. I can now stealthily enter the village and explore what’s inside!” Isaac hovered in the back of the village, so he had to fly a
Isaac once offended his classmates because he was told to follow her. It should be nothing noteworthy in the school, but his classmate felt disgusted by his personality. The girl saw his friend and chatted with her for five minutes, but Isaac felt impatient and grabbed the girl’s hand, and it immediately left a bad taste in the other girl.Isaac had always been impatient that he treated seconds as minutes. Time was gold, his motto. Therefore, he grew annoyed by the system’s demand for acquiring skills only he invested time. However, Isaac always moved on rather than wasting time complaining about it.“I should follow him then.” Isaac set his eye locked on the small goblin. “He seemed to have a loud-talking mouth. If I followed someone introverted, then I might spend weeks learning the skill.”Isaac silently followed the small goblin running while carrying something on his chest. The other goblin looked at him as they smiled, but some gave him an envious stare. Thankfully, no one follo
