Illusionary dungeon wall

“I have acquired a skill just like that?”

When he came to his senses, the goblin finally stopped before a wall. Isaac was surprised to see a shape and outline of a dungeon wall before the goblin.

“It seems the goblin reach a dead end.”

Isaac pondered as he immediately got frantic when he saw the goblin’s little circle shape turning to face him. He immediately decided to take action not to be seen by it.

“System, activate charge skill!”

[You have activated the skill, Charge.]

As the goblin turned its head hastily due to its panic, Isaac didn’t notice his thoughts working faster than before. He called for the system to activate his skill in 0.0005 seconds, causing the system to respond in the same way.

Halfway through the goblin’s turning its head, the skill has been activated.

However, Isaac knew he had messed up. Due to his thoughts moving faster than reality, his mind and body failed to react in a single moment. However, thanks to Isaac’s quick reactions, he managed to point out the location of the charge before everything completely messed up. To the ground filled with grass!

With the grass as a cover, he could hide his existence in the goblin’s field of vision. Isaac charged at the grass in a single direction, and his needle mouth ended up stabbed into the ground!

Isaac successfully managed to hide against the goblin’s knowledge.

Seeing there were no living being with him around, the goblin actually went straight through the dungeon wall and passed right through it!

If Isaac has human vision, the inexplicable thing might escape his sight. However, Isaac clearly saw with his vision that the thermal body of the goblin passed right through the shape and outline of the dungeon wall! Isaac witnessed for a moment when the goblin passed through it, and the dungeon wall rippled like water!

“Don’t tell me!” Isaac remembered something while his two compound eyes sparkled. “An illusionary dungeon wall!”

An illusionary dungeon wall, commonly yet not that common inside the dungeon. Most of them would be issued as a hidden quest to an adventurer once discovered. Therefore, Isaac couldn’t help but felt excited and immediately ordered his wings to flap and enter it.

Once he hovered before the illusionary dungeon wall, he took a moment to marvel at it before moving forward. He felt the change in his perspective as though he was entering a new world.

New shapes and outlines and countless thermal bodies and heights similar to the goblin earlier were what greeted him. However, he was interrupted by the sudden system announcement.

Ding!

[You have learned the skill, Enhanced thinking! Congratulations to the host. Only one skill to unlock the skill, Appraisal.]

Isaac felt excited, but it did not last long. Remembering the other skill he had to unlock, the feelings diminished as though he felt full of a bucket cold of water pouring above his head.

Meanwhile, the goblin, who had been followed by Isaac earlier, finally reached the village’s entrance. There stood two goblins armed with a weapon, seemingly guarding the village. Once they discovered the small goblin, they immediately send him a glare, which the small goblin shrieked in response.

“Speak!” The other guard spoke in a menacing voice. “Did you make sure no one follows you?”

“Y-Yes! I checked twice and thrice, and not even a single bacteria spotted me entering the illusionary wall.”

“GOOD!” The other guard wanted to continue playing the small goblin when his partner decided to stop it.

“You can now enter!”

“T-Thank you.”

After bowing countless times to each of the guards, the small goblin entered the village lowering his head from the lack of confidence.

Meanwhile, outside, Isaac had been hovering on the outskirts of the village. There he was becoming familiar with his vision. He saw the shapes and outlines of the grass, flowers, or possibly the crops made by the goblin in the surroundings. Surprisingly, some of the plants don’t have a thermal body, possibly because they don’t generate heat, while some show a light color.

Isaac continued to marvel before he finally came across the two goblins standing outside the village gate. With his perception, he managed to see the outlines of the village wall. They were pretty simple, like a barricade made with wood. There were sharp end points of each wall, which stood a height of a meter and a half.

The wall formed a circle shape with a center that stopped the wall from completely isolating the inside of the village. In it, there stood two goblins not taller than the small goblin he followed earlier. They were currently slacking on their job, sitting while conversing in a chat, laughing from time to time.

Isaac wanted to close the distance so he could hear what they were talking about but held himself for fear of discovering his existence. He then remembered the skills which would considerably lessen the annoying noise of his flapping wings.

“Now that I can split my consciousness, and with the aid of critical thinking. I can probably activate a chain of skills here since they are related to each other. While I’m at it, I should try to practice lessening the sound of my wings flapping so I can acquire the skill, Silent Flap. This should be two birds with one stone, right?”

Isaac decided to continue familiarizing his vision while venturing to the outskirts of the village. There were not only plants and crops he could see, for there would be living things such as wild boars living inside a cage. Probably, they were raised to be the goblin's food. However, there was only a small amount of them, possibly the reason why some small goblins scouted outside to have information and food in the process.

Isaac didn’t want to kill them for leveling up. Since he probably needed to kill 6 or more just to level up to three. Hence, he decided not to.

While Isaac ventured, his other consciousness was trying to control his flapping wings, so he could reduce the noise. While his other consciousness was focusing on familiarizing his vision. What he does was nothing a human could do. Thankfully, with a help of his new skills, he could manage to perform it.

Due to his Enhanced thinking, it didn’t long before his attempt made a visible change. His previous flapping wings would be heard five meters away from creatures. However, now it needed four meters for the noise of his wings to be captured. Although there was only a single meter change, it already shows his attempt bore fruit.

An hour passed, and the flapping noise reduced to three meters. However, Isaac didn’t plan to stop, for he thought he only covered thirty percent of the outskirts village venturing. He was slow, so he thought of acquiring the skills which increased his flapping flight. While at it, he asked the system, but he received an answer that he needed to acquire the skills, wings control.

There were other skills needed to acquire that skills, so he gave up.

When Isaac finally reached the cage of the wild boar tusk earlier, he saw from a distance. He realized up close they were very tame and behaved. They would eat the grass, which was clearly thrown from the goblin before them while swaying their tails to keep annoying flies from time to time.

“Surprisingly though, the place is wide and organized. They could probably accommodate up to ten or fifteen goblins. However, seeing from the shapes and outlines, there were only five of the cage, with each of them occupied. They were also a distance away from each other, probably the goblin was trying to prevent triggering their nature.

However, is this really the wild boar tusk I encounter? With the materials keeping them, they could probably destroy it with a single charge!”

Isaac then realized something and couldn’t help but admire the goblin with their craftiness.

“That is unless the wild boar tusk has enough distance to activate its signature skill proficiently! Although their cage isn’t cramped for them not to move their body around. The space inside isn’t enough to fully activate their skill! Admirable!”

Isaac then remembered something, and couldn’t help but fell into deep thought. He recalled Remaru have the goblin as his first followers. Should he follow the same path as him?

“Who knows? By the time Remaru encountered the goblin, he already have the divine protection of the Benevolent Divine phoenix! Meanwhile, I don’t even have an identity for them to revere me!”

Isaac didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. He was imagining the first encounter with the goblin guarding outside the village. He recalled they have an outline and shapes of a weapon, and a bow was among them. He might probably become their practice target once he was spotted by them.

“I can’t even talk with my needle mouth. Probably, all they can hear about me is a buzz!”

Isaac couldn’t help but laugh to himself in misery.
