Mosquito bite piercing the sky!

An hour earlier, the two guard’s voices sounded inside the hut. However, the village chief was conversing with someone, so it took an hour for the village chief to be completely annoyed about the guards and decided to shut them up.

In addition, the inside of the hut was considerably vast. After all, instead of calling it a chief’s hut, it would be more suited to call it the headquarters. The chief would sometimes gather people inside to converse in an important conversation. While he would let other people work inside the hut to supervise their progress.

Similar to now, the village chief was conversing with the most important person in the village. The village chief was talking about the person’s progress regarding his progression of magic, but he was disappointed to receive the report. He couldn’t hasten him, though, for he doesn’t have power enough to act like it.

The village chief was respectful, and each of his tones was polite and formal. Therefore, when he received disappointing news, instead of venting it to the person, instead scolded the two guards outside. They had been talking for an hour, and all their topics were regarding the magic to which the other person spent his mouth moving the most in the entire time. In the end, the result was disheartening.

When the village chief heard a small goblin come to see him, he looked at the other goblin and received an affirmation nod. The other goblin walked and hid not far away from the village chief’s throne. The village chief, who sat on his wooden throne made sure the other goblin was hidden well before looking at the small goblin who entered the hut.

The small goblin was unaware there was another person who was about to listen to his report. It didn’t matter to him, though, since what mattered to him was the reward.

“I know you. Why have you come? Did you discover something outside?”

The small goblin heard the question of concern from the village chief, and it helped his nerves calm down. He took a deep breath and nodded at the village chief before opening his mouth and reported.

“It seems there was a mosquito monster outside. Earlier, I discovered a carcass of the wild boar tusk, and I saw its appearance pale white as though the body was lack of blood. When I checked it, I saw a bite! It was only a single bite. However, if it was only a single bite, I wouldn’t have come to report it to you. After all, that single bite pierced through the heart of the wild boar tusk, and the pierce was so clean that I could even see a small hole in the wild boar tusk body!”

“What?”

The village chief couldn’t help but stand up in shock. After all, such a strange encounter should be reported to him.

“Where is the carcass now? Did you take it with you?”

The small goblin hesitated for a moment before telling the truth.

“N-No. Due to my shock, I immediately returned back and wanted to report to you. I-I also made sure there were no other living beings spotted me entering the dungeon wall, so you can rest assured.”

The village chief wanted to scold him for not bringing the corpse with him when he saw his appearance. Looking at his poor physique, could he even carry it without placing so much effort and energy? By the time he was halfway through the dungeon wall, he might have been discovered by the mosquito monster and might be the next victim.

“You don’t have to worry about it. I trust you. Did you thoroughly check the carcass? Are you sure the bite was similar to the mosquito bite? You should know there are bat monsters as well who suck the blood of their victim.”

The small goblin contemplated for a moment and thoroughly check the carcass on his memory. Confirming he wasn’t mistaken about it. He nodded his head at the village chief.

“What a monster. I only heard from the hunters the mosquito monsters were annoying them by biting their bodies at different locations. After all, they could be killed with a single slap. However, from the report of this small goblin, the mosquito monster in the description can be compared to an elite monster!”

The village chief murmured and the small goblins didn’t catch it. In the end, the village chief took a peek at the other goblin hiding in the shadows and decided to talk about the matter with him. He wanted to have his opinion about it.

“You can now dismiss.”

The small goblin didn’t move and was hesitating to tell for something. The village chief was bewildered by his behavior and couldn’t help but erupt in a burst of sudden laughter once he realized something.

“This is the first time someone asked for a reward in front of my face. You young man, what is your name?”

“I-Ink. My lord.”

Ink was respectful as he knew he made a huge mistake. Due to his greed for reward, he even ignored the chief’s command, which would be equal to being a traitor. He was even scared when he heard the sudden guffaw of the village chief, as he wanted nothing but to run for his life.

“Don’t be scared. I forgot for a second that we goblins were greedy and mischievous. Therefore I will give you a reward.”

The village chief stood up in his seat and walked through the food storage area. However, Ink didn’t know where he was walking as it was the first time he entered the village chief’s hut. He was even skeptical about the village chief’s words and thought he was only being sarcastic.

“There’s no need, my lord. I will take my leave now.”

“Hold up. You can’t leave without your reward. Pick what food you want. Severed leg meat of the wild boar tusk? Or a bag of rice?”

Ink saw the two objects on each hand of the village chief. He was clutching them with a kind smile on his face. Ink never doubted the village chief intentions as he knew who he was known for, he wouldn’t be given such a respected position if the people didn’t trust him.

“I wanted a bag of rice, my lord. I wanted to make soup for my sickly sister.”

“Oh? So your sister is sick, and you are implying you also wanted a bottle of water?”

Ink didn’t reply and was sweated with bullets. The village chief looked at him and smiled as he couldn’t help but shakes his head. Before he would dismiss the goblin, he decided to give him advice before picking a bottle of water and giving it to Ink together with a bag of rice.

“Greedy is our nature. But don’t let it takes over you once you are in danger. You understand?”

“I do.”

Ink received the bag of rice and the bottle of water with his head low, seemingly taking the words of the village chief to his heart.

“I will take my leave.”

With his last words of his, he ran outside as he wanted nothing but to nurse his sister immediately.

“Aren’t you too kind?” The other goblin asked in an annoying tone.

“I wouldn’t be their leader if I wasn’t?” The village chief smiled.

“Hmm. You make yourself what you are now because you want your current position. How greedy.”

“Hehe. Anyway, what do you think about his report just now?”

While the village chief asked the question, the other goblin finally made his appearance. He was not tall as the village chief who had a height at the neck level of the guard outside. The other person was only the height of the village chief’s chest. In addition, there were wrinkles on his green face. With his white beards swaying down from her mouth and chin, and the scarce white hair above his head.

He was clearly an old man.

In addition, he was walking slower and needed the assistance of a staff which was taller than him. The spine on his back almost sticks out upward. He looked at the village chief with dead eyes and responded to his question with a firm tone.

“It’s nothing. I can kill it.”

The village chief heard what he said and didn’t doubt his words. After all, he might be old, but the village chief doubted he could even kill him. Before he knew it, he might have died from being scorched alive.

“What makes you confident, though? The wild boar tusk might have died without his knowing. After all, the mosquito bite isn’t as simple as it seems. It might be called mosquito piercing the sky!”
