“Damien, Nadia is on the screen again!” Cedric hollered from the resting space of the laboratory.

As for Damien, the one that was being talked to, his ears were covered with the laboratory ear flaps, and he couldn’t even hear anything.

Just as he poured in the last substance, he moved to the side where several computers were set up.

“Allen, analyze the final chemical needed for the composition.”

After about five minutes, the third and smallest computer beeped up, and then very quickly, lines and lines of chemistry evaluation were displayed on the screen.

However, there was not a single hand on the keyboard.

“Cedric! It worked!” Damien shouted even though he could hardly hear himself.

Cedric’s gaze was fixed on the television as he watched every action of the figure on the stage.

The lady on the stage was holding an award and gave a short speech acknowledging all the people she said were a part of her success.

“Even after so many years, she still never gives Damien any recognition,” Cedric muttered, his eyes filled with dissatisfaction.

However, as he heard Damien’s words, he froze and then in a split second dashed into the laboratory.

As he entered, Damien waved him over and the both of them looked at how the screen was filled up with detailed information on the next step of such a huge project.

“You did it!” Cedric was beyond excited.

Three years!

Three long years!

For this type of research, perhaps two years was not too much but for someone like Damien, whom the heavens had blessed with a brain that was beyond normal people, two years was a long time.

“Now that I have confirmed that artificial intelligence will always learn at a fast pace, I think it is time for the world to meet Allen.”

When Damien said this, his eyes were shining with fervor. As for Cedric, he had the same reaction.

“Also, are the results really correct, do you think this is the final step the research needed all along?” Cedric asked while glancing at the computer screen.

Damien nodded gently.

“Hmm, I have long guessed it. But I suspected that it would take about three to eight months to get this. Instead of wasting all the resources, it would be best to just wait for Allen to be perfected and let it break things down for us.”

Like it just did.

Even after so many years, Cedric was still surprised by how he had thought so far ahead.

Eventually, he snorted.

“Isn’t it just because you wanted to divert some of our research funds to invest in Nadia’s movie?” Cedric teased but one could see that there was a trace of dissatisfaction in his eyes.

Being called out like that, Damien had an embarrassed look and glanced away.

“Speaking of which, I just saw that Nadia got the movie queen award.”

On hearing this, Damien flashed as he dashed to the resting area.

However, some time had passed, and Nadia was no longer on the stage. Luckily, after some seconds of standing there, the camera turned to show Nadia Clark.

Her trophy was still in her hand, and she had a broad smile on her face. The same smile that had stolen Damien’s heart so many years back.

“Congratulations, wife,” Damien said, his eyes filled with intense doting and tenderness.

Damien and Nadia had met in high school.

With his outstanding looks and brain, he had easily become the school’s star student.

As for Nadia, even though academics was not her forte, she was good at athletics and was also the most beautiful girl in school.

To everyone, the both of them were a match made in heaven.

However, Damien always felt that Nadia could have picked any of the boys from wealthy backgrounds.

She could have had her pick of any, but she chose him.

Because of this thought in his heart, this has always made Nadia have the upper hand in their relationship.

When she finished college and wanted to enter the industry, Damien didn’t stop her. However, even though they were married, she kept her name and even asked him if she wanted their relationship to be a secret until she became a movie queen.

Now, seeing that she had achieved it, Damien felt like he was the one that got the award.

“Cedric, it seems like the stars really aligned with me today,” Damien said, his face bright with a cheeky grin.

From the side, Cedric couldn’t help but nod.

Today was a lucky night.

They had made a breakthrough in artificial intelligence, and even better, they also resolved the research they had been conducting for about a year now.

More than anyone, the both of them knew just how important this research was for the entire world.

It was a game changer in the medical and technology sector.

“From now on, the entire world would now know that Nadia is my woman.” Thankfully, he already made a breakthrough.

To Damien, he wanted to be worthy of being the man that stood by her side.

By the side, Cedric said nothing. Clearly not sharing the same sentiments with Damien regarding Nadia.

Damien grabbed his cell phone that was carelessly lying on the sofa of the resting room.

When he typed a message and sent it to Nadia about having a surprise for her, he finally realized that his last ten messages have gotten no reply.

He tried to remember when they last talked on the phone but couldn’t.

Suddenly, he couldn’t help but feel a little thud in his heart, like a sudden feeling of loss.

“Cedric, give me a moment, I will be back shortly.”

Without another word, Damien grabbed his coat and then dashed out of the high-standard laboratory that held his entire life’s work.
