06: Meeting Again

Very quickly, the team at StarSpot came and directed him to the top floor.

Although he wasn’t some big-shot celebrity, the entire world had been curious about the groundbreaking Damien Storm.

Allen had taken the world by storm with breakthrough technology and within three years rose to a billion-dollar company.

For a person like that, they couldn’t interview him on the same floor as celebrities and led him to the top floor.

“Damien!” A lady squealed as she rushed forward to shake him.

Although not used to this kind of reaction, Damien gave her a warm smile in return.

“I don’t think the world would expect that you are this good-looking,” Susan teased as she settled on the couch opposite Damien.

Damien had gotten in just on time and as he settled in too, the cameras and light came on.

“In the last two years, many assumptions have been made and many people have even tried to make Allen imagine your face for them,” Susan continued.

Damien chuckled gently at her teasing. “At a point, I had to tweak the system from giving it away.”

It wasn’t that he didn’t want to, but he just wasn’t ready.

“Any particular reason why you didn’t want your face to be known?”

“Well, there was so much to do at the beginning. It was a wave kind of movement so I couldn’t afford to be distracted. As much as I knew, Allen was something that needed us to sit down and work hard in those first three years.”

Susan nodded in understanding.

“Being under the press and everything would have definitely added some extra pressure.”

“Yes, it would have.”

“What made you think of Allen? Although I know you have a partner that you worked closely with to build this, word on the street is that you are the brain behind it.”

Damien chuckled again, this time, with his set of teeth flashing, and for a minute, Susan couldn’t help but be amazed by just how good-looking he was.

From the first meeting till now, she was surprised that a man who looked this good could be that intelligent.

“Cedric worked as hard as I did on Allen. We both did.”

“As for why I initially had seventy percent of the shares, it’s because it was my initial idea and we also had an agreement that I was going to be the one in charge of the management.”

Cedric was a genius by every right too, however, he exerted all his other attention on games and more relaxing things while Damien was good with strategies and management.

After talking about how they built Allen and made more than a billion, Susan finally brought the topic back to his personal life.

“From what I know, you would be 27 in a few months, are you looking to settle down anytime soon?”

“Yes, you are right.”

“About settling down, I’m not thinking in that direction. Going forward, I still have many projects to handle and I also want to pursue a lifelong dream of mine.”

Despite being a top media personality, Susan couldn’t help but show her curiosity. But she quickly recollected herself, after all, this interview was a live one.

As for the written version, it would be on the front pages of their magazine the next day.

“A lifelong dream? Now you have me curious.”

“Do you mind sharing the lifelong dream with me?”

“Sure--acting!”

Although Susan was surprised, she asked some questions in that area to know why Damien was interested in acting.

The interview was brought to an end with some more questions and Susan stood up to hug Damien. She stepped back and gave him a broad smile.

“Off the camera, I have to say that you are really impressive. To push your passion for the purpose of giving back to the world is one of the most noble things to do.”

“I also enjoy doing this,” Damien added as he didn’t want her to think he was some saint.

Everyone was going through their own journey. Seeking their own satisfaction and dreams.

To see a person who could push it all aside just so that he could help the world was very impressive.

She was really impressed.

Damien thanked her and after exchanging some small talk, took his leave.

Right outside the door, Simon was standing there with six bodyguards.

“The views for the live interview was about 200 million. A lot more than we were expecting. I called them here so they can help you move out smoothly.”

Damien nodded in satisfaction, he had initially wanted to tell him but he also didn’t want to keep inefficient people at his side.

If Simon hadn’t thought of doing this, he might have gotten a slight demotion.

With three guards in front and three at the back, the eight of them went down to the last floor of StarSpot.

Just as they got out of the elevator on the last floor, Damien saw a familiar figure rushing at him.

On seeing her, his brows crinkled slightly before they relaxed back almost immediately.

“Damien!”

On getting no reply, Nadia moved even closer until she was standing right in front of the bodyguards.

“Damien, why didn’t you tell me you were coming here?” Nadia continued.

Damien’s brows arched upwards at her words while a look of disgust flashed in his eyes.

In the last three years, Nadia had several scandals and has been in like three relationships. Over time, he had also come to accept that perhaps, he never really knew her or the person that he knew was no longer the same.

Among the guards, two of them knew who Nadia was and were a little hesitant. As for Simon, he was the most confused.

Since when did his boss know Nadia Sparks?

As everyone was waiting for Damien, he had no choice but to say something.

“You have the wrong person.”
