CHAPTER 39. Being Without Her.

The morning sun streamed through the window of Damion's room, casting a warm glow over his cluttered desk and rumpled sheets. But despite the brightness of the day outside, Damion felt a heavy weight pressing down on his chest as he dragged himself out of bed.

Bianca should be getting to Paris now, he thought as he sighed.

His heart felt heavy with sorrow as he went through the motions of getting ready for his lecture. Every step felt like a struggle, every breath an effort to push back the overwhelming feeling of sadness that threatened to consume him.

As he made his way across campus, Damion couldn't shake the feeling of hopelessness that squeezed his heart of all happiness. Thoughts of Bianca filled his mind, her laughter echoing in his ears as he remembered their conversations and most especially, their shared moments.

Although he knew that Bianca's decision to pursue her modeling career overseas was the right one, that didn't make it any easier to accept.
