Devil's Enthronement

Chapter four

                Peace like the river.

Eugene, the sorcerer who was sent by the high priest was some what over zealous but was very skillful with his magic . As they got to Jared's house, he told that he wanted to go and confront the king right away but Jared protested telling him to wait and observe how Derus operated . Eugene who was unconvincible took a stand that he was going to confront the king immediately. Jared tried convincing him further but Eugene was not open for any advice after listening to Jared talk he smiled at him and ran out the house finding his way to the castle.

Derus was seated on a couch in his courtroom with a lady whom he wanted to take blood from when he heard the door which he had locked open with a loud noise startled by the noise turned to the door to find a strange looking man walk in to the room with an unaltered audacity.

He stood up watching the man walk up and stand in front of him

" I see you have no respect for the king". Derus asked with an angry tone

"My respect lies in the boundary of those who use the power they possess for good".

Derus was taken aback as he never expected anyone to talk to him in that manner. He examined the man from top to bottom and discovered that he wasn't from Riskwood city but from York-north village - the only people who still possessed magic- pure magic.

' It is high time I paid you guys a visit' Derus thought inwardly.

"I see you have been invited to challenge me, who was it that was bold enough to go against the king".

"Of course you know we do detect when powers are used wrongly Derus". He replied stressing the last word

" I am the king and would love to be referred by that". Derus said with an expressionless face walking up to Eugene.

" Too bad you aren't my king". Eugene said closing up the space between them.

The guards and maids who were watching gasped when they saw how the man challenged their king , nobody had every tried making an eye contact with him talk more if talking back at him but then, this man whom they were sure was not from their village had the nerves to challenge the king, maybe he didn't know what the king was capable of , they thought.

" The king is definitely going to kill him". A maid muttered from the corner of the courtroom and as if on cue the king eyes turned dark and he rushed to drag Eugene by the neck but a push from Eugene got him flying across the courtroom. He got up immediately his body touched the ground and his face turned to look more like a demon, his eyes blood red and his fangs visible enough. Murmuring arose from the corner of the courtroom as everybody was shocked to see the king in that form. Derus rushed to get Eugene again but he was stopped mid way as the words Eugene chanted had effect on him ,when it seemed like more than enough energy had been sapped from him he felt to the ground with blood running down from the corner of his mouth. Eugene walked up to him and when wanted to touch him,he loudly chanted some words and disappeared.

 Derus found himself in the garden at the back of the castle,he had planned to run away from the village but greater powers covered the village preventing anything or anyone from coming in and going out . Eugene also ran out of the courtroom searching for Derus around the castle and found him in the garden facing the sky and chanting some words, the sky of Riskwood city which was dark grew darker, the grounds started shaking the green diamond which was situated at the centre of his chest came to life letting out a bright green light which caused heavy wind to blow 

Derus in a flash went and grabbed Eugene's neck and said " I hope my father gives you a good place in our house ". Derus tightened his grip on Eugene's neck making him incapable of fighting back, he then muttered some words in his ear and blew a gentle air to his face. That single act of Derus left Eugene screaming loudly while clutching his chest , Derus took some steps back and started chanting his word loudly causing the ground and wind grow more violently, Eugene who was on the ground used his last strength to chant his words loudly also , the clashing of words grew more violently and with one defeating the other came a ... 'boom' and then... Peace .

A peak of sun arose in the east of Riskwood city and spread round the city, the trees which had withered came back to life ,the flowers also grew and added colour to the city, the castle fell and the captives were free .

  Eugene who laid unconscious on the ground regained consciousness and noticed he had defeated Derus. He saw Derus's body lying on the floor he chanted some words over it ,he had some men carried it and buried it in a tomb in a cave far away from the city, the mouth of the cave was covered with a large stone and was sealed with a spell. The spell made it impossible to be opened by anything or anyone?. 

Jared ran to the castle to celebrate the good news with Ryker found him in a trance with the power being too much for Ryker he fell but was caught mid way by Jared . Ryker turned to Jared's face and spoke sorrowfully to him.

" The city has been liberated from evil but I fear for the world as more forces will be coming. He will return and there may be no hope for mankind again". He paused " My work here is done" . Saying those words he inhaled deeply and didn't exhale.
