Devil's Enthronement

Chapter three

                     A light in the dark.

"Jared, Jared,Jared, what a brave man you are, you took a really bold step, no man can dare to think of what you did,your bravery will one day be rewarded". Ryker spoke loudly from his cell

"Old man I know you are already mentally retarded but I'd appreciate if you keep it down". The cell guard warned

"If only you know what great deed a young boy like you did you wouldn't be speaking to me in that manner"

"And what great deed is it you speak of?"

"The fact he didn't cowardly join the palace guards to gain favour from the king is enough great deed to speak of"

"Are you trying to insult me old man?"

"You can call it whatever you wish ". He paused "Jared wasn't a coward and you want to stop me from praising him. You young ignorant people are just too blind to see " He said with a tone of disappointment.

" Blind you say". The guard laughed "you have to see first to know who to call blind "

"Dumb moron" Ryker muttered under his breath but the guard caught what he said ,angry over those words he banged on the cell gate and shouted at Ryker

" Hey you in there, one more word from you and the cane will go round your body again seems like the twenty-four you had in the morning wasn't enough for you , don't push me to the wall, hope I am well understood?"

" I said , hope I am clear" he banged in the cell gate again after getting no reply from Ryker the first time. "Old man didn't you get my question or what?"

"What " Ryker retorted ,"You said you didn't want to hear any more word from me, I am just being obedient."

"Fool". The guard mumbled gritting his teeth which left Ryker smiling to himself.

It has been almost a week and Jared hadn't gotten the chance to check the gate and it seemed the forces grew stronger ,he was worried suck and couldn't confide in anyone because he didn't know whom to trust .After much deliberation he decided to take a risk and visit Ryker,the village seer who had been locked up in the dungeon. Luckily for him he got past the castle guards and made it successfully to Ryker's cell and met him facing the window in the direction of the sun . He tapped gently on the cell gate to get Ryker's attention but Ryker didn't move so he spoke

"Uhm, Please Mr. Ryker ,I am Jared and I want you to help me,I wrote a letter to the high priest ,I told him of the situation we are in and invited him to come and help us but it has been almost a week and u haven't gotten the chance to check if he has arrived ,I don't know what to do and I need you to advise me on what to do"

Ryker took a deep breath before talking to him

" You took a big step when you snuck out of the village, not just a big step but a bold one at that". He went to a corner and laid down. " You didn't seek my help before you did that and I'd advice you do as your instincts directs"

" But what if I get the wrong instinct?".

" Then you will have to face the consequences, I wish you will because I need a company in here and the guards here are no fun" . Ryker responded with a straight face .

" I now suddenly seem to be afraid if the consequences, if the king finds out about what I did I would be beheaded and ...."

"The next head to roll off belongs to the king, go back and believe the high priest will get back to you. The best advice I can give you now is that you leave here before the guards come for their routine check".

Jared not what else to say left disappointedly.

Derus a demigod was a snake that walked on viper's shadow- Malestofelis was the viper thought that he had gained total control over the village and decided to release the forces around the city to know the reaction of the people.

On the first day everything seemed well ,the people still thinking that the forces were still strong continued behaving as he wanted . On the second day , Jared noticed that the forces were not as it used it be ,he thought the king may have dissolved the forces he used to guard the village but without being too sure he decided to go to the gates next day to check if he could get past it. ' Had I not been in the company of people I would have left immediately'. He thought to himself.

The next day arrived and Jared made his way to the gate and successfully he made his way out of the village.As he walked to the end of the road,he met a man who looked lost,he nodded to the man and he returned the nod both keeping their distance, Jared stood at a corner waiting and looking around hopefully to find the high priest.

" Pardon me my gentleman". The stranger said trying to get Jared's attention. " You seem to be waiting for someone". His words more like a sentence than a question , Jared nodded looking at him suspiciously and noticing the accent in his tongue

" Are you from around?"

"Yes, I'm from Riskwood city".

"Then I must be the one you are looking for , see I was invited by Riskwood city". He said showing him the later which had been sent to him, Jared took the letter and confirmed he was the one that they wanted. Jared gave a cloak to the stranger and stressed that he should cover his face well.

" I never knew the high priest was still this young ". Jared thought of striking a conversation as they been quiet for too long making the walk awkward.

The other man smiled " I am not the high priest,I was sent by him tho, the high priest is not old and cannot move around very well so he sent me to fill in for him".

"Oh". Jared said with a hint of disappointment in his voice. "I am Jared by the way".

"Eugene". The man replied with a slight bow. As they got to the gate of the village , the men covered their faces with the hoodie of the cloak to avoid any recognition, without a guard keeping watch by the gates, they successfully made it inside the village.
