In the dimly lit confines of their makeshift headquarters, the atmosphere was thick with unspoken tension. Marcus stood at the front of the room, facing his team. The events of the last mission still echoed in their minds—the chaos, the betrayal, and the narrow escape. He could see the weight of uncertainty in their eyes.

“Everyone, can we take a moment?” Marcus began, his voice steady but heavy. “I know what just happened shook us all. Liam’s betrayal was a blow, and I can’t imagine what each of you is feeling right now.”

Evelyn crossed her arms, her expression fierce. “We trusted him, Marcus. We put our lives in his hands.”
