Kevin was impressed. He has always been impressed with Howard, but he was sure not expecting what he did.

“How did you survive though? I thought you were dead.”

Howard shook his head briefly. “I wasn't dead, but I thought I was as well.”

Kevin laughed.

Howard unbuttoned his shirt by the collar and pulled one of the arms aside to reveal a wound by his chest, just close to his heart.

“Actually, I was in coma for five months. The doctor said I escaped death briefly. The bullet almost hit my heart. It was a near-death experience,” he explained.

“If the gun had moved a bit, it would have penetrated his heart. And he would have died instantly,“ Irene explained.

“But then I was forced to retire because of my injury.”

Kevin felt sad for him. Howard had to pass through such an ordeal because of him.

He stepped forward and pulled Howard into a hug.
