Chapter 6-Humiliated

That night, Ewald, who knew that Torres was suspicious of Jacob, immediately contacted Emma. The old woman quickly sent Blade to keep an eye on Torres' movements. Meanwhile, Jacob began living in one of his parents' mansions in the town of Rowbon. The servants welcomed him with big smiles. They were thrilled that Rodriguez's only son had finally returned.

“Hello,” said Jacob, looking so handsome, powerful, and friendly to his house servants after dressing himself up in a collection from Rivera Boutique.

“Welcome back, Young Master Jacob Wyatt Rodriguez,” the servants replied with a bow.

“No need to call me by a name that long. Just Wyatt. I'm starting to abandon the name Jacob. Nevertheless, I was once in your shoes as a servant,” he said with a charming smile.

“Yes, Mr. Wyatt,” the servants replied, further admiring their young master, who was not only handsome, but also humble.

They were so impressed to see Jacob look like a prince because he was wearing the exclusive suit he bought. The size sent fits his body perfectly. Jacob learned many things with Ewald before the night of the meeting. Ewald taught him to speak politely, but sharply when humbled. The old man looked amazed when Jacob told him about his life with the Kaye family.

“Oh, so Mr. Kaye told you to always read, learn, and then practice?” asked Ewald who was sitting with his young master in the dining room after teaching him, how to behave at banquets. Jacob nodded elegantly. “However, it sounds like a charade under the pretext that he is using you to learn to be a servant,” he explained irritably while slicing meat. Jacob smiled slightly.

“You're right, Ewald. If he intended to make me a young master, he should have taught me how to do business. Mr. Kaye instead taught me how to cook, clean the house, cut plants, and drive a car,” Jacob said, looking annoyed at the memory of those days.

Ewald smiled slightly. He saw that Jacob was quick to adapt and eager to learn. Teaching him was not difficult. Jacob was able to speak well, be elegant and quick to act. However, as morning approached, Ewald had to be concerned again when he learned that his master was willing to become a janitor at the Torres Company in order to uncover his parents' past.

“May good fortune be with you, Mr. Wyatt,” Ewald said anxiously.

“They will not kill me, Ewald. Don't be afraid,” he said. Ewald could only smile stiffly in response to his young master's words.

“I'm just afraid of losing you again, Mr. Wyatt,” Ewald muttered as he watched Rodriguez's only son enter Torres Company.

Sure enough, as soon as Jacob changed into his janitor's uniform, he already got an unpleasant reception from Rafael.

“Mr. Diablo is very angry with you, slacker. I don't know what stupid thing you did to make him ask you to clean all the bathrooms in this building,” he said, making Jacob's eyes bulge. “Do it now, useless person!”

Jacob was breathing hard, but he quickly left the room. Jacob entered the first floor bathroom used by the Company's visitors. Torres Corporation is engaged in the Development sector. Recently, they built an elite residential area in the city of Rowbon. The sales were fantastic because the stock was sold out of 100 units, making Torres' name soar. The price per unit reached $650.000. However, Jacob felt there was something wrong behind Diablo's father's success.

“Rowbon is Rodriguez's domain. How can you build elite housing in my parents' territory?” Jacob muttered after reading the brochure he had picked up while passing through the reception.

While Jacob was mopping and thinking hard, two men he had met at the boutique appeared. They were Hector and Kendrick, Diablo's friends. Instantly, the two men smiled.

“Well, well, well! The rumor that you're working for this company turned out to be true. I thought Diablo was bragging because he hates you so much, bum,” Hector said sarcastically.

Jacob didn't answer and continued mopping.

“No need to water! Let Jacob clean it for us. Don't make his job easy!” shouted Kendrick from a cubicle with a closed door.

“Hahaha, you're right! Come here, you thief of Kaye family money! Oh, looks like my aim wasn't quite right. The spray is everywhere! Haha haha!” laughed Hector, which was met with laughter by Kendrick.

Jacob clenched his fists, trying not to get angry. He exited the bathroom at a fast pace while the two men were still in there. Diablo's two friends were confused and rushed to catch up with Jacob because they were considered absent from duty. However, their steps immediately stopped.

“Well, there they are. Apparently, Mr. Hector needs to be taken to the hospital. He was complaining that he had a problem with his urinary tract, so he sprayed on the walls and floor,” Jacob told the receptionist, causing the people in front of the restroom to stare at Hector with disgust. Hector practically panicked as he was publicly humiliated. Plus, there were women there because the restrooms were opposite.

“Mr. Kendrick is the same way. He has trouble defecating. I think he has digestive issues. He's been farting all day and it smells horrible. So it's best not to use this bathroom just yet,” Jacob said, which made the people in front of the restroom stare at the two Diablo friends in disgust.

“Come here, Jacob!” shouted Kendrick angrily.

Jacob quickly retreated. He didn't want to retaliate against the man in front of him because he didn't want to get fired. His business at the Torres Company wasn't over yet. The people, who had gathered around out of curiosity, quickly left the scene because a fight was about to break out.

However, suddenly, “What's going on?”

“Oh, Mrs. Emma,” Hector called out as he stood up straight and nodded in greeting.

Jacob looked at Emma who was staring at him fiercely with Blade, the bodyguard beside her. Jacob was still holding the handle of his mop as Emma approached him in an intimidating manner.

“You smell like trash. Go clean it up!” Emma commanded, which surprised Jacob. Blade smiled wryly behind his mistress. Jacob nodded and went back into the toilet. He had to do it, even though he had to hold anger in his chest. “And you guys. Can't find an equal opponent. Your taste is really low for fighting a servant. Who is he that you bothered to insult him?” Emma asked with a fierce face.

“Mm, he's … he's …,” Hector replied hesitantly.

“He's no one, Mrs. Emma. I'm sorry to welcome you to my office with such an embarrassing incident,” greeted Mr. Torres and invited Emma to shake hands.

“Yes. Diablo should find a friend who is his equal,” Emma quipped, glancing at the two young men beside her.

Torres gave Hector and Kendrick a sharp look and left them. For him, Emma was more important because she was interested in investing in Torres' Company.

“Damn, this is all Jacob's fault. We need to shame him in public!” said Hector angrily as he looked at the toilet that was closed with a sign saying it was under repair.

“We'll report it to Diablo. He knows what to do with that parasite,” Kendrick explained, and Hector nodded. They hurried to find Diablo to report this.

Inside the toilet, Jacob breathed a sigh of relief as luck was on his side. Emma had arrived just in time. Although to him, the old woman was like a witch because she didn't hesitate to be cruel to him, but he was happy to be saved. Jacob hurriedly cleaned the restrooms on that floor and then moved to another floor while looking for information about the Torres Company. Jacob eavesdropped on every conversation of the employees who were chatting nearby while cleaning. Little by little, Jacob began to learn about his rival company.

“Oh, so Torres Company only took off in the last 10 years. Very suspicious timing since I seemed to be hidden from Rowbon for all that time,” Jacob muttered as he enjoyed the lunch Ewald made for him in the janitorial warehouse. “Where did he get such a large injection of funds? Kaye?” he asked, getting curious and wanting to find out more.

Unfortunately, his working hours ended that day. Jacob, who was used to working, did not look tired and was even excited. Every day, Jacob used a different place to meet Ewald who picked him up.

“Starting to see some light, Young master?” asked Ewald as he drove home.

“Yes. I can't wait for tomorrow,” Jacob said excitedly, but to Ewald's surprise.

“You have tomorrow off, Sir. The company is closed. You'd better get ready for the banquet you've been waiting for,” Ewald reminded.

Jacob was stunned that he had almost forgotten. The man immediately accepted a black-bound book with a snake ornament like the ring he was wearing. Ewald handed over the book at Emma's request for Jacob to memorize it. The handsome man looked serious during the trip by reading the contents of the book.
