Chapter 16
Beefy Bob immediately crushed the lollipop in his mouth with his teeth. He turned around and roared, “Shut the hell up!”

His power surged from his abdomen to his mouth. Like a wolf howling at midnight, his force was overwhelming.

Gregory and Andrew immediately grimaced, quickly covering their ears with their hands. Their minds buzzed, and they went deaf temporarily.

Ray felt his spirit roiling within his body. He had to take a deep breath to stomach the strength of Beefy Bob’s roar. His face dropped immediately.

“Whoever dares lay a hand on Isaac will have to go through me first. So who wants to go first?” Beefy Bob glared, sweeping his gaze over the people in front of him.

It was suddenly so silent one could hear a pin drop. Allegra’s palms were already sweating from nerves. She wanted to take Isabelle away from here immediately.

“Oh, wow, mister, you’re so amazing! We beat another level!” Isabelle squealed joyfully, breaking the tense atmosphere.

“It’s all thanks to you, Bella. Come, let’s play another round.” Isaac and Isabelle exchanged smiles as if the “beasts” behind them didn’t even exist.

With Beefy Bob standing between them, Edward and the others were too scared to utter a word.

At that moment, Margaret walked out arm in arm with a white-haired old man wearing a green robe and holding a dragon head cane.

“The patriarch is here!” Margaret called out loudly, and the guests made way for them.

When they saw the old man, everyone smiled and greeted him respectfully.

Old Alec was already in his seventies but still fit as a fiddle. In his youth, he’d been a professor at the University of Spanning. Then, he was transferred somewhere in the Upstate. Although he was never powerful, he still taught a great number of students.

Lauded as one of Southland’s six literary geniuses, it was because of him that the Gould family could foster close ties with the Merck family and why Margaret and her brother dared to throw their weight around.

“Today is my grandson’s big day, so what are you all fighting about here? Aren’t you ashamed? The ambulance is here. I heard Willow got hurt?” Old Alec approached them, glaring at Edward.

Gregory, in his wheelchair, and Ray both turned to greet the patriarch.

Edward looked upset. He immediately pointed at Isaac and shouted angrily, “Father, it’s that ungrateful Allegra who brought that savage here. He was the one who beat Willow and her husband earlier.”

Upon hearing this, Old Alec immediately turned to look at Isaac’s back. He furrowed his brows, fury burning in his eyes.

Isaac slowly turned around, meeting Old Alec’s gaze. He said coldly, “They all call me a savage. Sir, do you think I look like one?”

When Old Alec saw Isaac’s face, he squinted with anger.

“You barged into my grandson’s home and beat up my children and grandchildren… No matter how I look at it, you’re a thug. My descendants are not anyone you can bully!” Old Alec held his hands behind his back, a stormy look on his face.

Isaac got to his feet, facing Old Alec straight on. He pointed his finger at Allegra, who was pale with fear, and snorted. “Since your descendants are so important to you, as her grandfather, do you know the kind of life this granddaughter of yours had lived for the past seven years?”

Old Alec looked at Allegra and frowned even harder. He cared greatly about his family’s reputation, and Isaac was clearly about to air their dirty laundry in front of others.

“That bitch only has herself to blame. She disobeyed us, so she deserved what she got,” Margaret suddenly said.

Having been called a bitch by her own mother, tears streamed down Allegra’s face.

Isaac’s eyes grew colder. He stared straight at Old Alec as he said, “The reason I came today was that I wanted you to explain. Or rather, give Allegra an explanation.”

When Ray and Edward heard those words, they couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
