Chapter 13: Lord Alkemer

Arthur was happy for the progress that had been made, the rebellion that was about to ruin his whole plan has been destroyed and locked up in jail where they had no way of escaping.

But before he could even celebrate, the captain brought him a list of papers into his room.

"Captain, what's this?" asked Arthur while picking up the papers that the captain handed to him.

"Those are the list of royalties that are rumored to be conspiring against you." The captain replied.

Arthur shook his head as he looked at the captain, "Remember this, I am not coming into this country as a king, nor am I trying to be a leader, the moment I have stepped into this country, all I have been doing is taking the money that I have and using it on the citizens. If those royalties are planning a rebellion, they are not conspiring against me, but the people of this great nation." Arthur said.

"I see, but many of the scholars have suggested to me to tell you that it is best if we could maintain a good relationship with the royalties." The captain said.

"Sigh, and what do they mean by maintaining a good relationship?" Arthur asked while looking at the captain.

"Your action of taking away power from them has lead them to hiring their loyal guards using the wealth that they have left to reclaim what they previously owned. And the power that they have combined with the military that the previous king still have is more than enough to destroy the forces that we currently have, and they are trying to strengthen their forces considering you have destroyed one of their major power suppliers and that is Lord Rumples." The captain said.

"The former king? He still has his army?" Arthur asked.

"Yes sir," The captain replied.

"But I have stopped all of his income from coming in! He is not getting taxes anymore, so how the heck does he still has his army?" Arthur asked.

"He has loyal men that are willing to work for him for lesser amount of salary." The captain replied.

"Shoot! Sigh, that's it. This week, I will be focused solely to destroy the rebellion by my own self. Remember what I did to Lord Rumples men? I am gonna do the same to everyone else on this list!" Arthur shouted as he pointed to the names on the list.

"Sir! Please consider the more peaceful method! You might have been able to defeat Lord Rumples men, but his army is merely ranked 8 on the list, the others are far more superior and you won't be able to execute what you have done as easily." The captain said.

Arthur then looked at the captain with a confused face, 'When I first came here, I made sure to use my aura that would make me look more stronger than I am, so why is he trying so hard to get me to stop fighting?' Arthur thought.

'Let me test him," Arthur thought as he looked at the captain. "Captain, I don't think that you are in any position to advise me. You are not my advisor, you are not even a general, you are merely the captain of the national guards, and soon you will not be the highest ranking officer when I hire a General. So keep your mouth shut and don't interfere with what I will do." Arthur said.

The captain froze as Arthur could see that sweat rolled off the captains chin. "I am sorry, it seems I have overstep my boundaries." He said before leaving the room.

Arthur then looked at the 7th most powerful royal forces on the list, and that was the Knights of Lord Alkemer. "Hmm, 28 guards and 100 soldiers ready to be deployed and 1 wizard, with my strength the guards and soldier will be no problem for me to handle, but the wizard changes everything..." Arthur said before walking out and changing his attire to his more stealthy suit.

But as he walked out he passed by one of the scholars and walked towards one of them. "Hey, did any of you told the captain that I should not fight against the royalties?" Arthur asked.

The scholars looked at each other with a very confused look on their face and shook their head, "Mr President, we have never discuss anything with the captain of the national guards, in fact, I don't think any of us even have the time to talk to him." One of the younger scholar said while the other just nodded.

"I see...By the way, we need to postpone the election to next month, some problem has arrived." Arthur said as he continued walking out of the palace.

'I see, I now know what is going on with the captain...' Arthur thought as he started speculating.

But he was running out of time, he didn't know how many minutes or hours had already pass in the tower, and so he had to clear as much as he could as fast as possible.

He saw one of the guards bringing to him the horse that he used yesterday and as he saw that horse he smiled as that was the only horse that he could comfortably ride on. It might not be the most powerful or fastest horse, but it was friendly.

Arthur then jumped on top of the horse before riding his way to Lord Alkemer's land, and as he arrived just near the place it didn't look like a mansion at all, in fact, it looked like a castle.

Even though it wasn't as big or looked as majestic as the King's castle, it still looked like it could take a lot of damage and still hold up.

"Shoot, this might be a problem." Arthur said as he saw the knights that was protecting the castle. He also saw that the wizard was right on top of the highest point of the castle, where he had all the vision he need to attack anywhere he wants.
