Chapter 17: Obvious

Arthur was on the floor again, but he couldn't get up as the mana-enhanced soldier was above him pushing him to the ground with a unnatural amount of strength.

And no matter how hard Arthur tired getting up. He couldn't. However, he didn't had to worry about him getting hurt from the punches as he would be protected by the duit he was wearing.

Instead, he was more worried about the wizards taht were consistently using fire magic on him, baking him in the suit like a cake in a oven.

Arthur then took out a normal grenade and threw it behind him where the mana-enhanced soldier was.

Bam! The grenade exploded in front of the soldiers face and in shock the soldier jumped back.

"He is using some weird tools again..." The General said. "Everyone attack him now!" He shouted so he could buy time for the mana-enhanced soldier to recover and to stand up again.

However before the soldiers could even react. Arthur took out a long steel string and tied it around the gigantic soldier. He then pulled both of its end, choking the soldier and knocking him out.

"Crap! Everyone leave him there! Wizards! Attack him with everything you got!" The general shouted.

The soldiers listened to the General's command and took the fainted mana-enhanced soldiers and left Arthur there. The wizards who were on top the tower then created a large fireball above Arthur and threw it right at him.

Arthur took out his unbreakable shield and thanks to his exoskeleton suit, he was safe.

He then out back his shield back into his inventory and saw that the wizard was out of mana and very tired.

The general shook his head and. "My King... I am sorry. That was all we had. Without the mana-enhanced soldiers, we will lose." He said.

The King looked at Arthur who was standing victorious also sighed knowing that even if he did continue the fight, he would lose.

"Very well, pack up. We will leave this kingdom. I will go to a neighboring country and use what I have left." The King said as he lowered his head and left on his horse.

The soldiers who were still loyal to him followed him while the ones that understood the situation better stayed.

Lord Franklin and the General eventually left as well as the wizards.

"Haha, they left... I was thinking of punishing them..." Arthur said before he could feel his body cramping. "Ah... I guess punishing them will have to wait..." He said while taking out a bottle of health potion and drinking it.

Lord Alkemer arrived on the horse with all the other national guards and approached Arthur. "So you won. I knew that helping you was the right choice." Lord Alkemer said proudly.

"Yeah about that. It seems that your clue led me to a trap. But I suppose that you didn't know about that..." Arthur said while feeling slightly annoyed.

Normally he would he the one to do the tricking, but he was for once actually tricked.

"Sir, I am very sorry if the information I gave you caused you trouble. I really didn't mean it." Lord Alkemer said with sweat rolling off his face.

"Just be careful next time. Or I might throw you out of the country myself." Arthur warned Lord Alkemer.

"So, what now?" Arthur asked.

"Well, considering that uhm you have defeated even the King's army himself including the other powerful including myself. The other royalties that have gone against you are fleeing the country. Now, yoy will be able to continue the election peacefully." Lord Alkemer said.

"Good. I have been tired of kicking out royalties lately. Now I just want to campaign for my party. And I'm sure that there are other candidates running, right?" Arthur asked.

"There is. Actually quite a few, and they even had created multiple parties." Lord Alkemer said. "Do you want us to spy on them?"

"That won't be necessary. I will win the election. And I will win it easily. The people have so much trust in me fight now, that I am confident that at least 60% of them would vote for me without question" Arthur said.

"Then why campaign if you are gonna win anyways?" Lord Alkemer asked in confusion. "Wouldn't that be a waste of money and time?"

"Well, it's for entertainment purposes." Arthur smiled as he couldn't wait to start campaigning.

One day later and Arthur was in a stadium that he booked to hold the campaign. "I thank you all for coming here today. The great and woman of this nation, over a thousand of you have come into this place, despite your struggles, and the hard times that you have all been through. I have donated food to the homeless and the orphans, and given freedom to the everyone in this nation. But it was only made possible, because you voiced out your opinion. I intend protect what I and what you all have done for this great country! And I will make it greater than it has ever been! I won't be taking a penny from the taxes! And on the day of election, I won't be the one winning, it is the people who will win!" Arthur shouted before the people in the stadium clapped their hands and stood up.

The other new candidates also held their own elections. They had to hold their campaigns in smaller venues as they didn't have the budget that Arthur have.

And as the result, Arthur won in a major landslide. With 90% of the votes going to Arthur, and ten percent going to the other parties and candidates.

Arthur wasn't really this surprised from the result as he was the hero of the country that delivered them from the evils of the royalty.

"Congratulations for the win Mr President! It was obvious that you won the election even before it started, but I think we should celebrate!" Lord Alkemer said.

However, before Arthur could even respond, [YOU WON THE KINGDOMS FIRST GENERAL ELECTION! PROCEED TO LOCUS?]
