Chapter 3: I Want The Elf Princess To Become My Wife!

When Ainsley heard the Elf King’s assurance, he knew that he could ask almost anything he wanted. His imagination ran wild as his eyes darted across the room, surveying his surroundings.

In the end, his eyes landed on the Elf Princess, and seeing her beautiful appearance, Ainsley already knew what his compensation would be.

“I want the Elf Princess to become my wife!”

When the Elf King and Elf Princess heard Ainsley’s words, they didn’t expect that he would ask for such compensation. Especially the Elf Princess who examined Ainsley’s handsome appearance and seeing that it was too handsome and charming, blushed and turned her head sideways out of embarrassment.

Ainsley had already expected that those two elven royalties would refuse. After all, his demand for compensation was indeed excessive especially when he asked for the hand of marriage for the princess of the elf race.

But to Ainsley’s surprise, he heard the Elf King’s acceptance of his demands. “Sure, what else do you want?”

“Wait, you agree? Are you serious? Your daughter and I barely know each other. I expected you to disagree and become protective of your daughter. After all, she is too beautiful and some malicious men might take advantage of her, especially when I am just a mere stranger!” Ainsley exclaimed in surprise but the Elf King was resolute in his decision.

It seemed that the Elf King wasn’t joking and when Ainsley looked at the Elf Princess, she didn’t disagree but only turned her head sideways in embarrassment.

“Of course, I am serious. Do you know what’s my other requirement for you to become my successor? You also need to marry my daughter. Otherwise, what’s the point of letting you inherit my power if I can’t tie you to the elf race and protect it in my stead?”

“I didn’t expect that you were already interested in the beauty of my daughter. Before I can tell you about this requirement, you already asked for my daughter’s hand in marriage. But this is better. At least, you don’t have any resistance to becoming my daughter’s husband.”

The Elf King elaborated on one of the requirements for becoming his successor which caught Ainsley off-guard.

‘I clearly got what I wanted, but why do I feel cheated?’

Ainsley felt that he was at a loss in this deal since although he got what he wanted, it seemed that it was already predetermined.

Even if he didn’t ask for the Elf Princess to become his wife, they already planned to make her his wife. Because of that, Ainsley decided to make another demand for compensation.

“I want access to your library so that I can obtain more information about magic as well as this world’s history!”

“Deal!”

“How about you teaching me magic?”

“No need to tell demand that, I already planned to teach you magic. Otherwise, what’s the point of being the successor of the Elf King if you can’t even perform magic?”

“I want the support of the elf race when it comes to my actions in the future.”

“You will become the king of the elf race after you marry my daughter, so no need to mention that.”

Even after making a series of demands for compensation, all of Ainsley’s demands were accepted by the Elf King as if it was only a matter of fact for Ainsley to receive all of that.

‘I clearly got a lot of benefits, but why do I feel like I am at a loss?’

Ainsley thought in his mind as for the first time in his life, he obtained a lot of benefits yet he didn’t feel much excitement.

Ainsley wasn’t a greedy person and he was very satisfied with all of the compensations that he received. But he felt as if what he asked the Elf King to provide for him was going to be his without even demanding the Elf King for them.

For comparison, it was like you stole your parent’s money, but found out that they had already planned to give it as your allowance. There was not much difference, but you went through all of those efforts just to get it in advance.

Because of that, Ainsley’s emotions were conflicted. He didn’t know whether he should laugh or cry since he got what he wanted, but all of it was predetermined to be his.

‘Looking at the bright side, it seems that there is not much difference. Even though it feels weird to demand compensation which I will acquire even if I didn’t demand it, it seems that the Elf King and Elf Princess had already fulfilled all of my needs and wants.’

After pondering over it, Ainsley Wagner decided to not make it difficult for the Elf King and Elf Princess and no longer made any more demands.

“Sigh, it seems all of my requests for compensation have been fulfilled. So how do I become your successor?”

Ainsley sighed in defeat but deep down inside, he was glad that he could finally fulfill his dream of becoming the son-in-law of a powerful father-in-law while having a beautiful wife!

No matter how Ainsley thought of it, he definitely became a winner in life due to this event in his life!

With how beautiful the Elf Princess was, Ainsley knew that she must have a lot of pursuers but he was lucky enough to be chosen as the successor of the Elf King. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to have such a beautiful Elf Princess as his wife!

With Ainsley agreeing to become his successor, the Elf King was naturally in a good mood so he further explained about it to Ainsley.

“As you have already known, I have summoned you into this world to inherit my legacy and lead the elf race with my daughter as your wife.”

“After I find that you are suitable to inherit the throne, I will abdicate and crown you as the king of the elf race.”

“Of course, you can only start inheriting my legacy only after you have married my daughter. So what do you say? Are you ready to marry my daughter and inherit my legacy?”

When Ainsley heard the Elf King’s question, he naturally agreed!

“Yes, I agree. But when will the wedding be held?”

In response to Ainsley’s question, the Elf King replied joyfully. “Now!”
