Chapter 4: The War Between The Five Major Races

“Wait, wait! Isn’t this too fast? Although I don’t disagree, I still have to prepare my mind.”

“I don’t mind. If you want, like what father has said, we can start the wedding now.”

When Ainsley complained, it wasn’t the Elf King who replied this time but the Elf Princess.

With a soft yet charming voice, the Elf Princess continued. “Don’t worry. I have already prepared myself for this day. The elf race is in a precarious state with the war against the other major races in this world. And my father is getting old so he needs a successor and I also need a husband to… protect me…”

Although at first, the Elf Princess was confident with her words, the volume of her voice slowly became lower as a blush crept up on her face.

The Elf Princess might be currently more powerful than Ainsley, but she knew that she needed a husband to protect her. After all, the successor of her father must be a powerful young man.

As not only the princess of the elf race but also a young girl, she dreamed of falling in love with a handsome and powerful man. Her yearning for such love became intense when she realized that the elf race badly needed someone to protect it against those major races who waged war in the world.

Although the elf race wasn’t weak, it wasn’t the strongest either. It wasn’t even favored by the gods so the Elf Princess knew that situation of the elf race wasn’t that optimistic.

“War? Is the world at war right now? Can you please elaborate and tell me more about it? Is this the purpose of summoning me into this world and inheriting your legacy?”

Out of confusion as well as curiosity, Ainsley bombarded them with tons of questions and the Elf King could only sigh in response.

“If not for the war between the five major races, I and my daughter wouldn’t be this desperate.”

“But I have to warn you. If you want to become the husband of my daughter and the king of the elf race, you will cut all ties with the human race. In other words, you can only betray the human race and support the elf race to prosperity!”

Even when the Elf King warned him about that, Ainsley’s heart didn’t waver.

“Since I already decided to marry the Elf Princess despite being a human, I already expected this to happen. Nothing is free in this world, and everything has its price.”

“Not to mention, I am not a member of the human race in this world but the human race in my home world. How can it be called a betrayal if I was never a member of their race?”

Hearing Ainsley’s firm response, not only the Elf King but also the Elf Princess was moved. They were glad that Ainsley didn’t have any resistance towards betraying his own race and even made up an excuse to console and reassure them.

After all, the Elf King and Elf Princess still felt guilty that they summoned Ainsley to this world to help them without his own volition. It was also the reason why the Elf Princess didn’t mind becoming Ainsley’s wife, it was to make up for this guilt.

Of course, the main reason was still due to Ainsley having a good personality as well as a handsome appearance. Otherwise, if he didn’t possess those two qualities, it was unlikely for the Elf Princess to spare him any glances even if she was guilty of kidnapping Ainsley into this world.

They were glad that Ainsley didn’t make any excessive demands and was very understanding when it came to dealing with this problem in front of him.

“Since you have agreed, then don’t say I didn’t warn you. I don’t know about the human race in your home world, but the human race in this world is very vile and cunning.”

“For an accurate description, the human race of this world is like the incarnation of the seven deadly sins. They surpassed the pride and arrogance of the dragon race while the evil in their heart surpassed the demon race.”

“Unfortunately, even if the human race was the weakest in this world on the surface, they undoubtedly have a huge advantage against other races which is the fact that they obtained the support of the God of Light.”

“With the support of the God of Light, they could easily summon dozens of humans from another world to become their heroes. With some brainwashing, they can easily make those heroes believe that everyone aside from the human race is evil.”

After pausing for a while, the Elf King’s face showed exhaustion which mirrored how tired he was in leading the elf race to resist against the other races in the world war.

“We dare not underestimate the human race. After all, they might be weak at the start, but their potential is very unpredictable. At one point, the weakest human couldn’t even defeat the weakest member in other races, but with a twist of fate, that weak human obtained the power to slay a dragon a decade from now.”

“History had already proven that the human race, despite being the weakest race, is a race full of unpredictability and they seemed to be favored by fate and luck. It is also the reason why the God of Light favored the human race.”

“The strongest race is the dragon race. The weakest is the human race but none of the other four major races dared to underestimate them.”

“The demon race has a powerful physique and they excelled in controlling their subordinate race which is the monster race to do their bidding. The dwarf race can forge powerful artifacts and weapons and also possess the highest technology level throughout the world.”

“As for the elf race, our advantage lay in magic as well as our affinity with nature and the spirit race. But, the dragon race is at the top of the food chain as they could easily destroy all of our advantages with their absolute power.”

“Yet, the human race seemed to have luck on their side. They could defeat the dragon race despite having a weaker physique than a demon and lesser aptitude in magic than an elf. The human race has more dragon slayers than the rest of the four major races.”

“But that’s not the main problem. This war all started due to the disputes between the human race and the demon race. If not for them, the world war wouldn’t have started.”

Hearing the Elf King’s explanation, Ainsley’s curiosity was piqued. “What did the human race and demon race do that started the war?”
