Chapter 16 – Military School
Now all he could do was to sit on the sofa and wait until he felt sleepy, or rather force himself asleep.
The morning approached early with Ghou already set up to go into the training center. The book was going to stay at home since it was very risky to be handling such type of book in the streets in risk to theft.
Opening the book to the Fire Wall page, he began to mumble some words as he tried to memorize the instructions. After some seconds, he closed the book and ran to the door which he opened in a hurry, finally switching his location to the outside of the house. Twining the local bronze key to the door, it made a low bang which signified it was locked before leaving for the training ground.
Ghou finally reached the training center, where he hurried to the Fire section that was already present of few other elemental that practiced their various skill individually.
“Hahh, Fire Wall, here I come.” He muttered walking into the farther corner of the huge hall that was scarce of people, unlike the other part.
It didn’t take long and Ghou was already indulging into the postures and body movements that were required to push the ability into effect. After some more minutes the ground glowed and golden red flames began to appear out of the ground.
Within some seconds, he was completely surrounded by the tall waves of flame that was already drawing the attention of the others. But unfortunately the heat from the flames had its effects on him as he felt his skin submitting to the fire that was immediately ceased as it reached its limit of five seconds.
“That was hot.” Ghou heaved a sigh making his way for a bench that situated in the forefront of the hall.
Within some minutes, he stood up from the ground to a free space and immediately began to redo the previous instructions but this time, increasing the width of the final move that was called the Leg Roll that involved swiping his toes to the ground within some distance which had the responsibility of creating the distance between him and the wall of flames.
The flames immediately sprang up from the ground surrounding him with a more faster pace than the last try
“Please, can you teach me.” A voice said from the outside of the flames, prompting Ghou to cease the skill whose jaw-dropped to meet a crowd of people watching him. Another repeat of words stunned Ghou who turned behind to see a well dressed girl, about his age whose smile looked nice
“Oh! I… I’m not so much of a teacher, the ma… mage school could teach you this.” Ghou stammered staring directly at the young lady whose smile transformed into a bitter look
“I spent eight years of my life in mage school only to learn piece of sh**.”
“Well, then when Tier are you.”
“It’s actually awkward if you’re asking, but I’m an advanced level.”
Ghou’s face instantly turned worried hearing the words of the girl, who stared blankly
“Aww, unfortunately this is a Petal-King leveled skill.” Ghou lied still keeping his sad face to fit his mission to escape her request
“Oh, really.” The girl frowned as the crowd dispersed with different face and exclamation “So you mean you’re above the King level.”
“Y.. Yes.” He lied trying to avoid eye contact with the lady who stared with a frown
“Then what are you doing in a local training center, these dumb proud animals.” The lady cursed eyeing at Ghou who nodded a smile. It was vivid that she was calling for a fight, but he wasn’t such a loser to fall for the fight as it would be immature to battle a slog fight with a total stranger.
“What ever.” He nodded already making his way to the wide opened door, as his time here was complete.
****
“Ghou, you would not believe how long I’ve been waiting for you.” Pengfei upon sighting Ghou returning from the center called, standing up from the door pavement that partially stained the buttock side of his parsley trouser which was worn over a blue shirt.
“Oh, Peng, what’re you doing here, where is Xia.”
“Before answering those questions, you have to tell me why you locked your door.” Peng spread his hand over Ghou’s shoulder with a smile
“There are thieves in the Empire, Peng.” Ghou drew the key out of his pocket, pushing it into the door that instantly made a clinking sound before pushed over by Ghou who came in alongside Peng.
“Oh, new furniture.” Peng gasped staring round the room which had a new wallpaper design, a new couch, table and many others “Now I understand.”
Just then, Peng sighted the skill book that laid on the seemingly soft sofa, as it released an energetic aura
“What book is this, a book of skills or something?”
“Well, it is actually a hard-back magazine I bought yesterday.” Ghou instantly picked the book from the chair, immediately taking it into the bedroom before placing it on his bed
“So, what’s with the visit.”
“Oh yeah,” Peng paused, staring nervously at Ghou who looked ignorant “you should have remembered Xia speaking about, me joining the military.”
“Oh, so you’re serious with that.” Ghou laughed as he found Peng’s decision quite intriguing. “Well, then it’s it good idea.”
“Right?, but Xia is making everything so difficult.”
“She’s protesting against it.”
“Yeah, and the main problem is… Is that,” Peng immediately began to stammer as he found his next words extremely difficult to say, since he was not sure of Ghou’s reaction “Emm, Xia does not want to be left alone in our house since it’ll take a long time before I return. So…. I was asking for a favor if she can spend the three years with you.”
Ghou eyes widened hearing the request as well as the duration which was going to last over two years.
“W… Well, that’s really serious.”
“Ghou, please.”
“But, I’ll be going out of town very soon.” Ghou stammered, brainstorming the idea of homing his late friend’s sister.
“Ghou, please, you have to do this for me and my late brother.” Peng knees already kissed the ground as he continuously pleaded for Ghou’s help
“Peng stop. Okay, you win, bring Xia over when you’re leaving.”
Peng jumped off the ground with a wide smile that tried desperately to subdue his need for laughter
“Thank you Ghou, I’m already signed into the military school in the Featherstone kingdom. She’ll be here in the next dawn.”
“Okay… But are you aware, the Featherstone Kingdom is a rival to the empire.”
Just then, a whole new discussion came into the picture that accompanied a burst of laughter.
Chapter 17 – Border Of Beasts And Monsters The day of the forest hunt came with Ghou already dressed up in his uniform and the Fire-equipped gauntlet fixed neatly into his left palm. There was also a scabbard that was tied on his waist that tightly coated the silver-rapier.With a sigh he walked out of the room, into the parlor where Xia sat responsibly on a sofa while reading a small book.“I’ll be leaving now.” A words from Ghou startled Xia who jumped from the chair with a face filled with nervousness“But… But why can’t I go with you.” She stammered, already expecting the worse reply. Xia had just arrived a day before as Pengfei made his way into the Featherstone Kingdom to fulfill his ambition of being in the military. Ghou now stared at Xia with concern as he tried in desperation to find another phrase that still meant ‘No’ instead of him just saying it straightforward “Emm… I’m not sure Xia, but don’t worry, you’ll find thirty silver coins in my room, just on the bed
Chapter 18 – The Lying Pirate“Ahh, phew.” Ying exclaimed as sweat dripped from all parts of her body. But just then she stared around the surrounding in search of Ghou who had suddenly disappeared from the area“Guys, where is Ghou.”*** Ghou whose eyes suddenly flung open met a cloud of darkness, followed by a source of glittery light.“Ahh. Where am I.” Ghou who still laid down on the seemingly wet ground muttered as he stood up, trying to place his memory that seemed blur.“Ghou Fe Ling, am I right.” A loud voice pushed him into reality as his eyes fell into a tall red dragon. With a shriek of fear, Ghou once again fell to the ground, already shivering in sight of the monster that slowly advanced towards him. He immediately began to muttered words of denial as he disagreed with his eyes on what it had saw. No! The existence of dragons in this world was too impossible as they were ancient or rather, legendary creatures that would never fall into t
Chapter 19 – Sleeping Mia Ling The sunset easily came by and Cheng alongside the others arrived at the castle that was now flooding with guards as it was the suspicious time of the hour. Kiara immediately ran to the guards who stood in front of the entrance as soon as she was informed about it.“Why the sudden return.” She asked vividly stunned as they were all looking untouched, apart from few injuries.“For a whole lots of reasons.” Ying was the first to step out of the crew as she exposed the girl’s body to Kiara who looked utterly speechless“And Ghou is missing.” Cheng added into Ying’s words relaxing his palm unto his thighs as he was already getting exhausted. “Oh… Ghou is actually in the guest room, but this...”“Wait… What?, so we were abandoned.” Ying shouted, interrupting Kiara’s words like she’d lost a nut, her eyes revealed true anger as her urge to walk to wherever he was and land a slap on his cheeks continuously rose “We thought he was lost in the
Chapter 20 – The Royal Mage “You’ll remember once you join Fe Chan Ji in the grave.” She screamed tightening her grip on the dagger before adhering to plant the sharp blade into him. But just before the fatal coincidence could happen, Alistar who watched the fight with absolutely boredom ever since gave a scratch of his cute but sharp claws into her back, interrupting the fight.“You small, annoying, ugly creature.” Mia jumped off from Ghou, turning to the cute little animal that curled itself calmly on the ground. Ghou frowned hearing the abusive words of Mia that sprayed no emotion into Alistar who still curled up himself until the talking lad eventually fell unto the ground unconscious. “Eh.. What happened.”“First you’re suppose to thank me for saving your lazy limbs but either way, the claw attack from a creature such as me is very complicated and makes the victim fall asleep for at least, a couple of days.” Ghou felt speechless as he listened to the words
Chapter 21 – When The Vessel Spring“Were you blind, that man is absolutely dumb.” Ghou landed his butt to the soft and comfy bed of the guest room after ignoring Alistar’s questions until he finally arrived in the room.“If he’s said to be dumb, then you’re clearly dumber. Remember, you turned dumb when he mention a simple word such as cyan.” Ghou’s eyes fell towards the lazy creature that ignorantly tied to his waist, “You know I could strangle you to death..”“Be careful with your words alright, I won’t be this calm when you say something like this ever again.” Alistar’s voice instantly turned cold, saying all the words which sent shivers down Ghou’s spine.“I won’t exchange words with you now.” Ghou tried to contain his sudden fear to the creature around his waist, “Goodnight.”**** The next day was rather less peaceful like Ghou had imagined in his dreams with the information of over dozens of people who gathered around the castle with intent to harm. Gh
Chapter 22 – The Guardian Is A After walking for what looked like hours, Ghou finally broke the silence, “Funji, you never told me what the guardian looks like.” Funji gave a halt after hearing the question which had pushed a smile into his face, “Hum, the guardian is a…” He immediately began to ponder on the right words to describe the guardian, especially since he had met him just one time. “I’ll say.. He’s a Naga, the guardian Naga.” Ghou’s mouth dropped to the ground immediately after hearing the description of the guardian that was vividly a Naga “Oh.. How far before we reach the Ender, I’m already getting exhausted.” “Very soon.” Funji turned around and continued on the journey, now ignoring both Kiara and Ghou who lazily followed behind. However after some more minutes of walking without a temporary halt, Kiara finally indulged into a conversation with Ghou, “So, I actually came here not long after you were knocked into this state b
Chapter 23 – Emperum It was only a matter of time and half the individual were cleared, leaving only a few others who were either running for their lives or sitting on the ground in acceptance to their fate.“Why aren’t they using their ability to fend off these things.” Kiara screamed at the people running beside her. But unfortunately one of the flying beast noticed her presence and began approaching with a mind blowing speed. Meanwhile Ghou who was aware of this fact flung his arms towards the creature in an attempt to activate the fire veins, but the action proved useless as it couldn’t even sprout from the ground. Seeing the tough situation, he had no choice but to push Kiara far away from her position which ended with the creature’s sharp claws digging into the gray ground, scaring all the people who now ran with maximum fright.Seeing the strange display, Ghou’s eyes turned narrow as the creature ignored its action and flew into the sky, continuously grapplin
Chapter 24 – Escape Room Is Not An Option Ghou and Kiara walked exhausted into a tiny room which was accompanied by a notification from the system‘GUALIVERE PASSAGEWAYPASSAGEWAY PASSED – 19/20COUNTDOWN [00:19:59] this is not an option“YOU MIGHT ESCAPE THE EMPERUM”‘Kiara fell to the ground as soon as the notification flashed on her eyes. It took just nine hours to complete a whole nine task and it left the two individual stressed out. However Ghou on the other hand stood still on the ground, reading the text on the screen like it was a complete textbook.“I won’t die like this.. We won’t die like this.” His red and baggy eyes revealed determination as he said those words. Just as the notification wrote, the Escape Room could never be an option to escape and by the way, no wonder it was named Gualivere passageway, it was never a guaranteed escape room.“I think we can now only rely on Elbert and his wizardry.” Kiara said some seconds later a
Chapter 39 – Three Dust Chamber Meanwhile, Alistar was abruptly forced awake after hearing a loud thud that resounded from the duellet wall.‘Aah, it’s about time to leave here.’ He quickly transformed into an Oxyl and turned the two cub who looked scared. Alistar slowly walked towards the tightly closed door and only stopped when he stood directly in front of it. Beside the door was three different colored tube which became a mystery to him as he stared in awe. He turned his gaze to the golden dust of the animated mage some seconds later and back to on of the tube which was golden in color. ‘I don’t believe it.” He immediately transformed into his real form and hurried to pick a handful of the golden dust and poured it into the golden tube. A glow suddenly illuminated from the golden tube, but the door remained stiff almost as if nothing different happened. ‘Impossible, this isn’t possible.’ Alistar cried inwardly and immediately began to pound on the doo
Chapter 38 – Taboo Techniques Of course!, Alistar looked unfazed after the sudden regeneration from the immortal, after all, he expected it since one wasn’t likely to be called an immortal for no reason. “Quit trying petty creature, you’ll meet the same fate as your other species.” Alistar didn’t bother to ponder at his words and immediately transformed into one of the most feared and legendary beasts, a dragon. The immortal looked stunned for a while but immediately regained his consciousness by bursting into a disgusting laughter, “You can’t intimidate me with that look, pirate, you’ll always remain the weakling you are.” “And who ever told you that pirate are weakling, I’m only being nice towards you while trying to give you a painless death. Don’t ever push me to the edge, and remember you’ll always be a mere human.” The immortal was immediately stunned after hearing the menacing voice in his head. He immediately turned his gaze to his tight fist that began to turn golden.
Chapter 37 – Guest Fighters The mage gave an evil grin after seeing the transformation with seemed to fit his hidden aura. Within an instant, the mage raised his scepter while reciting a quote that remained unknown to Alistar who looked unfazed by his action. After standing for almost a minute without any interesting action, Alistar decided to give the first blow by flinging his silky muscle-build tail to the animated mage who remained calm with his dark eyes wide opened. When Alistar’s tail made contact with the man skin, he instantly felt a sharp pain that felt like he was being stung by millions of needles. Even at that, the mage also felt similar pain as the force sent from the tail would be enough to shatter his skeleton with one blow, but fortunately, he used the ‘Adamantine technique’ which had the capability to strengthen his skin. “Humm.” The animated mage finally gave a word with shivers running down his spine. Even with the Adamantine skin, he shivered to the force of t
Chapter 36 – Three Inscriptions“You haven’t told me your name..” Alistar asked a few minutes after they began walking through the tunnel.“Leah! What about you.”“I’m Alistar. So, have you ever tried leaving the realm?”“Just once, and it wasn’t successful at all.”The place remained silent for a while as they walked non-stop through the seemingly endless tunnel. When the mother Oxyl, Leah got too bored of the unbearable silence and decided to start a conversation.“There were monsters, should I say predators in here when I tried so I didn’t go this far.”“Monsters, predator?” Alistar immediately gave a halt and turned to Leah who had a weird smile, “Do you mean real monsters live here.”“When last I checked, yes. But they might all be dead or tired of living here by now.” Alistar turned around and continued his journey but now with a curious mindset. After walking for almost one mile, they decided to rest on the thick metallic steel that strengthene
Chapter 35 – Way Of The Ju-Jung Realm Alistar could not help but feel irritated after hearing the words from the mother Oxyl. He felt like running away for his life but controlled his urge since he actually didn’t know anything severe about the Ju-Jung realm.“Don’t worry, I and my kids are already stuffed with other creatures. And by the way, we have a home full of free food.”Alistar heaved a loud sigh of relief after hearing the statement, but even at that, he felt pity for the species. Some minutes later the mother Oxyl continued, “Now about the bullet-python. You should be aware that they only eat rodents and other small creatures… in the past. But due to the realm condition, they will risk attacking even a dragon..”“Have they gone nuts?” Alistar interrupted the mother Oxyl's speech that sent a feeling of goosebumps especially when the explanation made it clear that the realm was a suicide case.“Some of them... And why they have an advantage for creatures like us
Chapter 34 – One Mommy Oxyl Ghou stood motionless in front of his door staring at the talisman that suddenly flew to his palm. He turned his gaze once again to the position of the carriage but unfortunately, it was long gone. “What is this? Since when was there a Winterfoe kingdom?” “I’m definitely going to try it out.” “Thank the heavens for this kingdom, the empire is really becoming a risky place. Winterfoe kingdom here I come.” These were the words of the people around the scene with most of them having a bright face and only few of them making any reasonable comments. ‘I must inform Kiara about this nuisance, how can a so-called king lower himself to the stage of going into kingdoms and empires looking for citizens!’ Ghou felt disgusted with the ill action that was considered inappropriate by many. With that in mind, he flew into the room to take a quick bath and other things necessary before going to the Palace. *** Thud! Thud! Alistar continuously bangs on the door
Chapter 33 – Wei Bei Bei Days quickly turned into weeks and Alistar found himself stranded in the temple that didn’t make the slightest movement.“No… No, somebody help.” Alistar screamed at the door and immediately transformed into a huge creature before pounding on the door that easily absorbed all his movements, not even bulging any parts of it. After transforming into a dozen of heavy-weighted creatures, Alistar finally fell to the cold floor of the temple in an exhausted manner.‘Such bad luck… Somebody, please come.” After his words, he immediately closed his eyes and fell asleep, after all, he had to regain his lost Mana. Meanwhile, in the real world, Ghou stood outside the wall of the empire handling the Grimm Reaper long-sword casually in his palm, almost like it was a normal weapon.1 minute….5 minutes….12 minutes….20 minutes... Finally, Ghou could see two magical beasts approaching him from the forest. Although i
Chapter 32 – The Ju-Jung Realm‘Humm! So you’re Jiang Lang eh.’ Alistar who had been watching Senior Jiang Lang from the sky thought with a happy heart especially since he’d suddenly gained a vital information, now leaving only the name of the realm to banter with his curiosity.Though he was more than aware of the place being a realm, but there were more than a hundred realm around the globe that were only differentiated with their name. So therefore, without much options, Alistar decided to follow Senior Jiang Lang to his unknown destination while remaining in a low key. After what seemed to be over two hours, Senior Jiang Lang stood before the fancy looking temple that emitted a suffocating aura that could only be ignored by a King level individual. Some seconds later, a bright formation of different symbols appeared underneath his feet followed by a loud trembling sound that shortly followed after the temple’s camouflaged door flung open within an instance.
Chapter 31 – Grimm Reaper Long Sword Ghou grabbed the long-sword some minutes later and immediately began to fantasize on the mighty weight of the weapon. “Is it supposed to weight like this.” Ghou complained some minutes later when the weight eventually surpassed him even to the extent of pulling him towards the ground. Elbert nodded his head in disgust before saying any word, “Swing the sword while you can.” With those words, Ghou summoned all his strength, lifting the sword off the ground and immediately swinging recklessly in the air. After swinging the sword continuously for almost a whole minute, Ghou felt the weight reduce into that’s of a feather. A smile immediately appeared on his face with the idea of him able to handle the sword effortlessly, but unfortunately he couldn’t feel anything more. “I learnt it?” A frown replaced the bright smile on his face some seconds later as he stared in a fit of rage at the sword, “There’s suppose to be a glow, r
