Chapter 5 – Empire wall
Ghou Fe Ling sat on the small couch in his room, he raised his head unto the ceiling with a face filled with disappointment and guilt, his eyes got wet recalling the memory of how Funji fell into the furnace while he stood, watching the whole scene without doing anything to help.
How is Xia and Peng going to feel after discovering the news, especially Xia who is the youngest, how am I going to explain to them how he died, or-or I should not even tell them if I -.
Ghou Ling’s got interrupted from his thought as his eyes caught the door as it flung open
“Ghou, how could you allow our brother die in your watch.” Pengfei Dou’s broken voice yelled in the room while his eyes suddenly began to drop its tears. Behind him was Xia whose eyes were bloody red with thin veins visible on her eyeballs, tears were falling freely from her eyes while catarrh gathered under her nose
Wait, is this how they walked to my home!
Ghou’s eyebrows knitted unconsciously as he stared at both Xia and Pengfei, he instantly snapped out of his thought and stood up from the couch
“I’m sorry, I wasn’t really-”
“Don’t deny it Ghou, the top three in the war has already spread, you, my brother and one other girl called Kiara Mihou.”
Pengfei voice calmed a little bit while he wiped his tears, he heaved a loud sigh and turned his gaze to the dark marbled tile of the room.
“The girl killed him right.”
“Ghou why didn’t you protect my brother.” Xia finally managed to murmur staring at Ghou directly into his eyes, her eyes had suddenly become less red now becoming a little bit normal
“I am so sorry Xia, Pengfei I am sorry I couldn’t do anything to help, he was so determine to kill anyone including me, I didn’t attack him, that girl, Kiara did with the help of her outstanding ability, even I had to give up because of her immense power, I’m sorry.” Ghou fell back on the couch leaving Pengfei and his junior sister to mourn their brother
****
The year quickly passed into a new one with lots of changes upon the empire. Kiara Mihou Ling being the new empress did a good job on the empire renaming it from ‘Ling Empire’ to ‘Empire Houhau, the excessive increase in materials were decreased into a more affordable one.
Artefacts and object which were seized from the Late emperor Fhen were returned back to their right owners, the citizens of the empire were gladden by their new empress and never made any grudge against her.
….
Ghou Ling laid on his old couch with his eyes closed, his life for the past year had had been lonely due to the expected withdrawal of Xia and Pengfei after their brother’s death.
Knock! Knock!
A loud bang landed on his door jerking him out of his rest, he stood up almost immediately from the couch and ran to the door, he was curious to know who might be knocking in his door after over six months, he instantly opened it and met two tall men who stood in front of the door wearing an overall red metal uniform and a pair of black under-knee boots, on their waist was a metallic red scabbard holding a silver-rapier sword.
“Empress Kiara expects your visit in the palace.” One of the men informed staring directly into the eyes of Ghou whose face fuzzed with frustration
Oh heavens!, I’m so tired of this stupid name, just because she won a stupid war does not mean she deserve to be empress.
Ghou Ling stared at the men who were vividly message-guards of the palace, he slowly walked out of the house, wearing a under-knee trouser and a normal plain black shirt, he locked the door of the house using an almost rusty key and dropped it into his pocket, he turned back to the guards and heaved a deep sigh
“Okay, lead the way please.”
….
Ghou Fe Ling stood in the center of the ‘great hall’ in the palace, there were large golden chandeliers which hanged on the ceiling, the ground was well adorned with beautiful red carpets which flowed from the minister stairs down to the exit door. Golden statues and sculptures of other past emperors and empress were well arranged in the corners of the hall thereby enhancing a mesmerized beauty
Tap! Tap!
Ghou Ling looked back at the staircase and saw Kiara, the empress climbing down the stairs slowly while her pure white and silky robe flowed alongside with her, her long hair was well packed and ornamented with several jewelries
“Ah, Ghou Fe Ling, you are Ghou right.” Kiara Mihou Ling, now known as Empress Kiara pronounced slowly as she climbed down the stairs. The two guards who stood beside Ghou instantly bowed upon seeing her, but Ghou stood firm on the ground like a tree well stable on the ground
“Hum, Ghou why won’t you show respect to your empress.”
The two guards immediately stood upright and turned their gaze to Ghou who did not pay any attention toward them, one of the guard raised his hand in anger on an attempt to hit him
“Don’t touch him.” Hearing the order, the guard stopped his hands in mid-air, he bowed again in apology and backed away toward the exit door with his other colleague
“Would you mind coming upstairs Ghou.” Kiara turned around and began to walk toward the left corridor. Ghou having no other choice obediently claimed unto the staircase thereby following her.
After ten seconds of walking across multiple guards in the corridor with silence, Kiara stopped in front of a metallic red door and twisted its knob thereby opening it
Tap! Tap! Tap!
Kiara stepped into the room while Ghou followed curiously. Just then after entering the room, his brow folded realizing that he was in the empress chambers, he was surprisingly stunned by the beauty of the room even when he wasn’t expecting to be invited into this particular room.
The wall were painted red with drawing of patterns and flowers on it, in the left end of the room stood a blue four-poster net bed with a beautiful patterned mattress and pillow arranged on it, beside the bed was a beside-bed-table which held a large lamp and a cup of tea, the ground was covered by a furry red rug which covered the whole parts of the room. In the right side of the room was a pure white door which had to be the way to the bathroom, while the center of the room stood three blue armchair and a wide golden table which held a flower vase.
“So I called you here cause there is something very important that I think you need to know and help me with.” Kiara voice trembled as she immediately sat on one of the armchairs while Ghou sat on another
“Eh, what’s that.”
“It’s the wall, I don’t know but the guards who are in charge of guiding continue giving me report of beast which have tried to pass through.”
“Soo, I thought that’s supposed to be normal.”
“No, this is not normal, there are up to fifteen records of different beast trying to pass through every single dawn, one of the guard was killed last dusk.” Kiara brows folded while her mouth curved with her gaze fixed on the table
“So what do you need- wait, do you want me to guard the wall.” Ghou’s face twitched with his eyebrows knitted staring at Kiara who kept silent
“Like seriously, you think I would risk my life for you.”
“No Ghou, you are not risking your life for me, it is for the people.” Kiara’s voice lowered making it sound more innocent that prideful
“B-But, my powers is not an expert like yours, and by the way as an empress you are expected to fight for your people.”
“Ah, Ghou you know fully well that my responsibility is in the palace and not the battlefield.” Kiara voice fuzzed with the words of Ghou.
Chapter 6 – Empire wall guard Kiara stood up from the chair and began to walk to and fro in the room, Ghou watched her quietly thinking hard of the request. Kiara finally stopped walking and rested her hand on the jewelry table of her room staring into the clean mirror which hanged on the wall“And you should know that you are not going alone, I sent for three more powerful people I met in the war and I am expecting them any time soon.”“Wait, did you just mention powerful people, w-wait did you ever had a match with me to know if I’m powerful or not.” Ghou Ling asked with a grin“Soo, are you going to work as a guard, I already made uniforms and special weapons.” Hearing the word ‘weapon’ from Kiara reminded Ghou of the artefact that was supposed to be given to him from his parents“Yes, I would fulfil your request but, umm, I wanted to ask if you have any artefact with you.”“What artefact is that, cause my under-croft is totally empty.” Kiara chuckled, she turned around an
Chapter 7 – Assigned The next Dawn came along easily, Ghou jumped off his bed and freshened up. After a long time, Ghou was fully dressed up with the uniform and ready to leave, he immediately stepped out of the house with his hairs packed upward and instantly closed the door.....“Ah, Ghou always the first to arrive.” Kiara praised sipping a cup of tea while sitting on her majestic bed, staring at Ghou who sat on an armchair with a smiling face“Hehe, it’s actually isn’t my-” Knock! Knock! A loud knock interrupted Ghou and the next thing was the door pushed open allowing Cheng, Ying and Silas to enter the room.“How do you guys always walk in together.” Ghou brows knitted upon seeing the three of them, this was two times that something similar to this happened and it looked all suspicious“What if the three of us are neighbors.” Cheng instantly replied with narrow eyes“Well, when last I checked you lived in the streets pickpocketing for a living.” Ghou retorted eyeing C
Chapter 8 – Beasts and monsters Ghou immediately turned his head backward to see a large gray shark which was diving vastly toward him“Heaven’s flame.” Ghou muttered and instantly jumped to the opposite direction successfully dodging the attack of the shark which had its rough spiky teeth to the ground. The shark began to flap it claw-like tails realizing that it was stuck.“Ahh, my goodness.” Ghou instantly stood up from the ground and ran to the other guards who were shivering at the sight. “That’s a diseased shark right.” The guards tilted their head toward Ghou and nodded, the shark violently began to twine it head from the ground and successfully removed it therefore landing on the ground creating a loud thud, it body began to jump up and down on the sand to the water where it zoomed off“Oh, okay then, I’ll just stand here and wait.”“I do not think there is any time to wait, look.” One of the guards pointed toward the sea were an army of strange alligators swam vastly
Chapter 9 – Death and Vessel Silas turned his head back to the bear which was running in a fast pace toward him, he lifted his hand to the air realizing that the bear was too close for him to attack. The bear instantly lifted into the air making it impossible for it to advance any further. Silas pressed him palm into a ball while the bear movable joints bent into strange positions with loud cracking sound, he stood up from the ground with his hand still fixed in the air while making a direct eye contact with the bear. Silas instantly spread out his hand like he was calling for a hug while the bear widened it body with a loud roar.Silas brows fuzzed with narrow eyes, he raised his hand further into the air and with a sudden movement began to swing it from the left to right. Meanwhile, the bear began to bang recklessly on the sand which sudden got red of blood. He heaved a sigh of relief and finally released his hand leaving the bear to crash on the ground. Silas who wa
Chapter 10 – Discovery “No, look behind you.” Xia, who reluctantly looked behind was instantly stunned to see Peng standing on the ground with a face plastered with confusion “Bro….. Brother Peng.” Xia jumped on her feet as she ran to Pengfei pulling him into an embrace “I thought I’d lost you.” Xia’s voice shivered as she tried to stop herself from crying “No….. No, I… I will never leave you.” Pengfei voice was completely blur as he tried to understand the paranormal activity that happened “Ghou?, what… what’s this, why am I here.” He instantly pulled out of the embrace and sat on the damaged chair of the room trying to recall what had happened before his death, especially how and why he could find himself in Ghou’s home “Ehn.. Emm… you and Xia came to my doorstep pleading for my forgiveness…..” “Forgiveness, for what.” Pengfei jumped up from the chair with a facing drowned in awe “Pleading?, why were we pleading.” “Ehn, but

Since sleeping was the only thing he could do, he curled himself to the size of the chair before petting himself to sleep.**** The next day arrived early with Ghou already dressed up in his uniform and ready to head into the Palace. The previous day was a whole headache for Ghou b
Chapter 12 : Monster Manual : Aboleth“You could start now.” Kiara repeated her words with a bright smile that compelled the others to rise on their feet “We definitely can’t say no, so it’s is yes.” Cheng blundered with a sharp smile. Silas on the other hand turned to Cheng with a death glare as it wasn’t in his interest to join the hunt, but he was a sheep bent to oblige to all their words since he was too embarrassed of his voice to muster a word. After all, if things were to get out of hands, he had the simplest solution by abandoning the project “Okay, good. I think we’ll start with the Aboleth today and continue with the others tomorrow. And please note that your ability is no stranger to the illusion, so it’ll cause harm to the children meanwhile the creatures can’t hurt you.” Kiara briefly explained already making her way to the wide opened door of the room. ----“So it all going to begin here.” Kiara invited the group into a huge dark hall which held different small
Chapter 13 – Monster Manual : Trogen“Ghou, time for you to demonstrate what you’ve got.” Ghou stood alone in the room as he patiently waited for the transformation of the room“I’m waiting,” Ghou shouted out to the room as the transformation seemed to be taking longer than the others. After waiting for what seemed to be five minutes, the room glitched into the sunny forest before it immediately transformed into a dark room.“I think they are Mana exhausted, you know, it isn’t easy creating these realistic illusions.” Kiara interrupted the fading silence of the room as she watched the room glitch continuously. “Anyways, I think this will be all for now, tomorrow will be another day.”“I didn’t even fight the monster.” Ghou said with a frown still staring at the pillar-filled room“Well, it is not my fault. The others are already gone.”“What about the book, the one from my… deceased parents.” Ghou reminded Kiara who ran out of the hall, into the throne room where she picked the
Chapter 39 – Three Dust Chamber Meanwhile, Alistar was abruptly forced awake after hearing a loud thud that resounded from the duellet wall.‘Aah, it’s about time to leave here.’ He quickly transformed into an Oxyl and turned the two cub who looked scared. Alistar slowly walked towards the tightly closed door and only stopped when he stood directly in front of it. Beside the door was three different colored tube which became a mystery to him as he stared in awe. He turned his gaze to the golden dust of the animated mage some seconds later and back to on of the tube which was golden in color. ‘I don’t believe it.” He immediately transformed into his real form and hurried to pick a handful of the golden dust and poured it into the golden tube. A glow suddenly illuminated from the golden tube, but the door remained stiff almost as if nothing different happened. ‘Impossible, this isn’t possible.’ Alistar cried inwardly and immediately began to pound on the doo
Chapter 38 – Taboo Techniques Of course!, Alistar looked unfazed after the sudden regeneration from the immortal, after all, he expected it since one wasn’t likely to be called an immortal for no reason. “Quit trying petty creature, you’ll meet the same fate as your other species.” Alistar didn’t bother to ponder at his words and immediately transformed into one of the most feared and legendary beasts, a dragon. The immortal looked stunned for a while but immediately regained his consciousness by bursting into a disgusting laughter, “You can’t intimidate me with that look, pirate, you’ll always remain the weakling you are.” “And who ever told you that pirate are weakling, I’m only being nice towards you while trying to give you a painless death. Don’t ever push me to the edge, and remember you’ll always be a mere human.” The immortal was immediately stunned after hearing the menacing voice in his head. He immediately turned his gaze to his tight fist that began to turn golden.
Chapter 37 – Guest Fighters The mage gave an evil grin after seeing the transformation with seemed to fit his hidden aura. Within an instant, the mage raised his scepter while reciting a quote that remained unknown to Alistar who looked unfazed by his action. After standing for almost a minute without any interesting action, Alistar decided to give the first blow by flinging his silky muscle-build tail to the animated mage who remained calm with his dark eyes wide opened. When Alistar’s tail made contact with the man skin, he instantly felt a sharp pain that felt like he was being stung by millions of needles. Even at that, the mage also felt similar pain as the force sent from the tail would be enough to shatter his skeleton with one blow, but fortunately, he used the ‘Adamantine technique’ which had the capability to strengthen his skin. “Humm.” The animated mage finally gave a word with shivers running down his spine. Even with the Adamantine skin, he shivered to the force of t
Chapter 36 – Three Inscriptions“You haven’t told me your name..” Alistar asked a few minutes after they began walking through the tunnel.“Leah! What about you.”“I’m Alistar. So, have you ever tried leaving the realm?”“Just once, and it wasn’t successful at all.”The place remained silent for a while as they walked non-stop through the seemingly endless tunnel. When the mother Oxyl, Leah got too bored of the unbearable silence and decided to start a conversation.“There were monsters, should I say predators in here when I tried so I didn’t go this far.”“Monsters, predator?” Alistar immediately gave a halt and turned to Leah who had a weird smile, “Do you mean real monsters live here.”“When last I checked, yes. But they might all be dead or tired of living here by now.” Alistar turned around and continued his journey but now with a curious mindset. After walking for almost one mile, they decided to rest on the thick metallic steel that strengthene
Chapter 35 – Way Of The Ju-Jung Realm Alistar could not help but feel irritated after hearing the words from the mother Oxyl. He felt like running away for his life but controlled his urge since he actually didn’t know anything severe about the Ju-Jung realm.“Don’t worry, I and my kids are already stuffed with other creatures. And by the way, we have a home full of free food.”Alistar heaved a loud sigh of relief after hearing the statement, but even at that, he felt pity for the species. Some minutes later the mother Oxyl continued, “Now about the bullet-python. You should be aware that they only eat rodents and other small creatures… in the past. But due to the realm condition, they will risk attacking even a dragon..”“Have they gone nuts?” Alistar interrupted the mother Oxyl's speech that sent a feeling of goosebumps especially when the explanation made it clear that the realm was a suicide case.“Some of them... And why they have an advantage for creatures like us
Chapter 34 – One Mommy Oxyl Ghou stood motionless in front of his door staring at the talisman that suddenly flew to his palm. He turned his gaze once again to the position of the carriage but unfortunately, it was long gone. “What is this? Since when was there a Winterfoe kingdom?” “I’m definitely going to try it out.” “Thank the heavens for this kingdom, the empire is really becoming a risky place. Winterfoe kingdom here I come.” These were the words of the people around the scene with most of them having a bright face and only few of them making any reasonable comments. ‘I must inform Kiara about this nuisance, how can a so-called king lower himself to the stage of going into kingdoms and empires looking for citizens!’ Ghou felt disgusted with the ill action that was considered inappropriate by many. With that in mind, he flew into the room to take a quick bath and other things necessary before going to the Palace. *** Thud! Thud! Alistar continuously bangs on the door
Chapter 33 – Wei Bei Bei Days quickly turned into weeks and Alistar found himself stranded in the temple that didn’t make the slightest movement.“No… No, somebody help.” Alistar screamed at the door and immediately transformed into a huge creature before pounding on the door that easily absorbed all his movements, not even bulging any parts of it. After transforming into a dozen of heavy-weighted creatures, Alistar finally fell to the cold floor of the temple in an exhausted manner.‘Such bad luck… Somebody, please come.” After his words, he immediately closed his eyes and fell asleep, after all, he had to regain his lost Mana. Meanwhile, in the real world, Ghou stood outside the wall of the empire handling the Grimm Reaper long-sword casually in his palm, almost like it was a normal weapon.1 minute….5 minutes….12 minutes….20 minutes... Finally, Ghou could see two magical beasts approaching him from the forest. Although i
Chapter 32 – The Ju-Jung Realm‘Humm! So you’re Jiang Lang eh.’ Alistar who had been watching Senior Jiang Lang from the sky thought with a happy heart especially since he’d suddenly gained a vital information, now leaving only the name of the realm to banter with his curiosity.Though he was more than aware of the place being a realm, but there were more than a hundred realm around the globe that were only differentiated with their name. So therefore, without much options, Alistar decided to follow Senior Jiang Lang to his unknown destination while remaining in a low key. After what seemed to be over two hours, Senior Jiang Lang stood before the fancy looking temple that emitted a suffocating aura that could only be ignored by a King level individual. Some seconds later, a bright formation of different symbols appeared underneath his feet followed by a loud trembling sound that shortly followed after the temple’s camouflaged door flung open within an instance.
Chapter 31 – Grimm Reaper Long Sword Ghou grabbed the long-sword some minutes later and immediately began to fantasize on the mighty weight of the weapon. “Is it supposed to weight like this.” Ghou complained some minutes later when the weight eventually surpassed him even to the extent of pulling him towards the ground. Elbert nodded his head in disgust before saying any word, “Swing the sword while you can.” With those words, Ghou summoned all his strength, lifting the sword off the ground and immediately swinging recklessly in the air. After swinging the sword continuously for almost a whole minute, Ghou felt the weight reduce into that’s of a feather. A smile immediately appeared on his face with the idea of him able to handle the sword effortlessly, but unfortunately he couldn’t feel anything more. “I learnt it?” A frown replaced the bright smile on his face some seconds later as he stared in a fit of rage at the sword, “There’s suppose to be a glow, r
