A SYSTEM THAT BESTOWS WEALTH

I watched as the gaming booted

[ Attention, The gaming system has been successfully installed. You will be asked to play a few missions to determine your fate. Please note you can turn your gaming coins into actual money]

I read through the instructions and was dazed. " Is this true? Can I turn my poor fate around by just playing a few rounds of the game and earning some coins?" my heart skipped a beat and I thought of what I could accomplish if I was able to earn a lot of coins

My phone went blank as I anticipated the next move.

A panel only I could see appeared right in front of me.

[ Ring! Ring!! ]

A Super Mario sound was initiated while I looked at my screen and wondered what was going on. I tried moving away from the main page but I noticed my cursor was stuck on only the gaming mode

[ Level: 1(0/100) ]

[ Skill; Basic Human]

[ Game point: 0]

[ Mission: Collect as many coins as you can]

[ Note: You have a maximum of forty minutes to collect as many coins as you can. The game starts now. Also, you need to spend all your money before the weekends. Failure to do that will lead to automatic termination of the system.]

I laughed hysterically. " I have nothing to lose. So why not play to my heart's content?"

My hands moved over the screen as I tried to gather as many coins as possible. My hands became sweaty as I thought of the possibilities of turning the coins into money. My eyes went towards the wall clock on my wall. " Fuck!"

I had just fifteen minutes to end the game. Suddenly, I had a super combo and I unlocked a bag of coins worth $35000 plus my initial $10000. I dropped the phone with joy and watched what was going to happen next but to my surprise, nothing happened

" I knew it was too good to be true," I said silently and off my lamp. My mind drifted back to what had happened earlier that night. I shut my eyes hoping it was all a dream.

The chirping sound of the bird woke me up. I looked at the time and I was late for class. I decided not to go.

The embarrassment I had caused myself was something I couldn't get over. I knew I was going to be the laughingstock of the school for a while something that hard to get over. I will be preyed on by both the weak and strong on the campus.

I remembered the mysterious game I had played the previous night and wished it was a dream come true.

My phone hummed again and I was surprised to see that it was still in gaming mode. My mind raced in anticipation of what was going to happen next.

[ The system has a level. You can check the status panel. You can access information about each level each time you win your levels. The skill level shows skills you can gather throughout your gaming mode. The game point shows your point in each level. Your gaming points are very essential as they would be converted into real cash. Your gaming point depends on each mission you are asked to carry out and you will be paid based on the mission done.]

The room was silent as I carefully read through the instructions. It almost looked too real to be true. I dropped my phone and picked it up again. I looked at the top corner of my gaming system and I could see $450000. I had never seen so much money in my life and the fact that I was spending it within a week was scary.

" I wonder what would happen if I failed to spend all the money given."

It was like the system heard my thoughts

" Mr. Frederick, failure to comply with the gaming rules and regulations will lead to the destruction of the system world and you will lose all rights and benefits entitled now and in the nearest future."

" fuck" I had thought the benefit of the game had no limitations.

[ mission activated: Money will be credited to your registered bank details. Notice: you have six days and thirty minutes to accomplish your first mission.]

I waited for some minutes and an alert of $450,000,000 was credited into my account. " Oh, Molly!." I shouted in joy

I started to rack my brains on what to do. I needed to spend the money given within a week.

I hum a song as I walk into the shower. " I am going to turn up the hit on everybody that had looked down on me.

As I walked out of the bathroom I looked at the rags I had been wearing. " this ain't clothes befitting a man with $450,000,000 anymore." I soliloquized to myself and decided to hit the nearby boutique close to the campus.

I walked briskly towards the boutique and I saw Jonas's car parked outside. It would be nice to have a car but I didn't want to rush the process. The fear of the system not coming to my aid or disappearing was an aftermath I could not deal with. I was met by the receptionist who ushered me into the store. " How can I be of service to you Mr.."

" My name is Fredrick. You can call me Fred if you want."

The young lady looked at me and smiled " Fred, what would your orders be?"

I looked at the clothes they were wearing and I felt like having everything. "I want to buy everything damn available cloth in here. So please I would like to buy everyone's minutes and time. Have every buyer at the shop give me space and come back in the next two hours when am done shopping."

The young lady looked at me. She smiled as she looked at the way I was dressed. " Can you do what I asked of you?" I said with a bold voice as I saw Jonas and Davina approaching
