CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT

We were all quiet as most of the people waited for someone to shout what they were willing to pay to get the shares. And I was waiting for my competitor. Someone that would dare challenge me. I was waiting for father-in-law to get in the game because I know he was going to take the bet. Or maybe Pit’s father.

“You can start as well,” Joseph spoke in my ear and I realized the woof might have had way too much to drink. I need to get this over with before things get out of hand. You never wanted to see Joseph when he was in his drunken state.

But about what he said, I was never going to go first. I wanted them to think they got the shares, then I dive right in to ruin their joy. I looked around at the surrounding people. One tried to raise a hand, but his friend whispered something in his ear and he dropped his hand.
