CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN
We stood on the balcony. Fresh air washing over us. She didn’t even know where to begin and I was just waiting for her to start because she was the reason; I was here in the first place. She wanted to talk to me in private and I just followed like a good husband.

But if Pit was here, and he saw us coming up here, he was going to show up any second from now. I didn’t want to cause a scene here. And most about me and my friend fighting over a woman that I just told everyone we were still together.

“Maria, we won’t be standing in the cold the all day. Why did you call me up here? I have some people to talk to. Who knows, I might find someone to invest in or something,” I smiled at her to keep the conversation casual.

She turned to look at me. Trying to look all sad and lonely on some level. But I wasn’t going to buy it. I wasn’t going to treat her mean or bad. But I wasn’t taking her back after what she did to me.

She walked over and stopped about two feet from me, looking me in the eye.
