HIS INCREDIBLE SUTURING SKILLS!

Micheal was sweating and trembling as he continued stitching up the patient, while Slade was already done and his patient had been transferred to the ICU.

He was overwhelmed and still couldn't believe that Slade, the worthless piece of trash, had just won against him.

The assisting surgeons inside the operating room began to whisper and murmur among themselves, throwing glances at Micheal.

Some of them gazed at Slade with admiration.

" I can't believe Slade won against the head of surgeons in a surgery competition!" one of them exclaimed.

" Isn't he the same Slade who was just an errand doctor? How come he possesses such skills?" another surgeon asked.

" I'm guilty for looking down on him and even sending him on an errand a few days ago! I hope he won't unleash his wrath on me!"

The assisting surgeons couldn't help but panic.

They were guilty of mocking Slade and sending him to get them coffee before.

Now that he had shown his skills, they were afraid he might be promoted to director or head surgeon and unleash his wrath on each of them.

Caleb was fuming, his fist folded in anger.

He couldn't believe that Micheal, his brother, had just lost to Slade, the loser.

He wondered what had come over Slade and his sudden change in demeanor.

Slade was no longer weak or afraid of anyone, and the fact that his skills were top-notch made Caleb wonder even more.

" Aren't you going to announce the winner? Isn't it obvious?" Slade asked, staring at the judges through the glass.

He smirked upon seeing their pale faces, wide eyes, and parted lips.

One of the judges cleared his throat and took the mic to speak.

" How did you do that?" he asked, and all the other judges turned to look at him.

" Yes! Ask him! It's obvious he cheated!" the other judges began to speak up.

They couldn't accept the fact that Slade had just won against the head of surgeons.

" How did I do that? With my hands, of course." Slade replied, maintaining the smile plastered across his face.

" No! You cheated!" the director exclaimed, and Slade cocked his brow.

" Do they cheat in surgery? I don't know, until now." he said, his voice carrying a hint of mockery.

" Yes, and you just cheated! Because how can you finish a surgery for stomach cancer in twenty minutes?"

The directors couldn't bring themselves to believe.

They had never seen someone with such skills in their lives, so they couldn't help but conclude that he had cheated – despite knowing that cheating in surgery was impossible.

" I'm not the type to be proud, so I humbled myself and became an errand doctor, just for this day to come." Slade replied.

Finally, Micheal was done suturing the patient, and his time was over immediately he finished.

Suturing took over twenty minutes due to his trembling hands. In contrast, Slade's suturing took just five minutes.

His hands were incredibly fast, making it hard to follow.

" He cheated!" Micheal couldn't accept defeat.

" How so, brother?" Slade turned towards Micheal, urging him to explain how he cheated.

" The patient doesn't have stomach cancer! You planned it yourself!" Micheal lied, hoping he wouldn't get caught.

".Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but Brother Caleb, up there, arranged the same patient for me too."

Slade said, clicking his tongue as he walked around to see Micheal's patient.

“ I came in here only to meet my patient ready for surgery, so how then will I choose a patient who doesn't have stomach cancer?”

Micheal swallowed, caught off guard.

He couldn't form another lie or accusation in his head.

“ Shit! Brother, your hands are trembling? Don't you need some water?” Slade laughed, and Micheal cut him a glare.

“ Bastard!” Micheal muttered.

“ Oops, you didn't stitch your patient very well; his stitches might come off in the next four months.” Slade started. “The competition is over, and the winner is obvious, so why not stitch up the patient properly and not give the medical center a bad name?”

Micheal was already red with anger and embarrassment.

He wished the ground could open and swallow him whole.

He was so confident in himself and was cooking up ways to kick Slade out of the medical center, but it seemed he was the one getting kicked out.

He couldn't imagine his life outside his father's umbrella.

Once he got kicked out, his life would be ruined forever.

He couldn't allow that!

Micheal immediately looked at Caleb, pleading with him through his eyes.

He wanted his brother to save him; if not, Slade would kick him out of the medical center.

Micheal sighed as he saw that his brother, Caleb, wasn't doing anything to help him.

“ How can you win over me? You're not even a qualified surgeon!” Micheal exclaimed.

“ I am, but you and Brother Caleb reduced me to nothing. I can't believe I trusted you both and let you trample all over me.” Slade replied.

“ I'm sorry, Head Surgeon, but Slade won this duet. I have never seen a person this fast in performing a surgery. In fact, it has never happened in history!” the judge said.

“ It's a disappointment that an ordinary errand doctor bested the head of surgeons.” the judge added.

Micheal was even more embarrassed, and his face reddened even more.

“ What is so special about his suturing skills? I'm better than him!” Micheal couldn’t just go down without a fight.

He walked towards the video player, which recorded the duet surgery, and played it.

His eyes widened as he focused on Slade’s fast suturing skills. He almost felt dizzy while trying to follow Slade's speed.

Micheal turned to look at Slade and swallowed.

He wanted to beg, but his pride wouldn't let him.

“ When will you fulfill your own end of the promise? I'm still waiting for you to lick my shoes and call me daddy.”

Slade said, and another roar of laughter echoed inside the operating room.

“ This is so embarrassing! I shouldn't have bet, if I had known!” Micheal murmured to himself as he knelt down in front of Slade.

If he were alone with Slade when he agreed to the duet, he would have denied agreeing to the promise to lick Slade’s shoe and call him Daddy.

However, the directors were present, so he couldn't deny it.

Just when Micheal was about to bring out his tongue to lick Slade's shoe, the operating door pushed open, and Mr. Joshua, their father, walked in with other directors behind him.

Mr. Joshua frowned upon seeing what was going on.

“ Father!” Micheal quickly stood up from the ground and bowed his head to Mr. Joshua.

“ What is going on here?” Mr. Joshua's deep baritone voice echoed inside the operating room.

“ A duet, Father.” Slade spoke up.

Mr. Joshua's eyes snapped towards Slade, and for a fleeting second, disdain flashed through his eyes.

“ Why is Slade here? Isn't he just an errand doctor?” Mr. Joshua asked.

“ Not anymore, Father.” Slade smiled proudly. “ I just won against your head of surgeons.” His voice carried a hint of sarcasm.

“ Is that true, Micheal?” Mr. Joshua asked.

“ Y-yes, Father.” Micheal stuttered, sweat clouding his forehead.

“ Slade, follow me!” The old man said sternly, turned around, and walked out of the operating room.
