As Slade entered the hospital, murmurs and whispers filled the air. Doctors, nurses, and patients couldn't help but glance and mock him. " Isn't he the son of the hospital's owner? " I'll never let him touch me!" a patient exclaimed. Slade remained unfazed by their words as he made his way to his office. Unfortunately, he encountered Micheal and Caleb speaking with other directors on his way. They were heading to the boardroom for an important meeting when they came across Slade. Micheal almost laughed at Slade's tattered clothes. To be honest, he looked like a madman, with torn clothes and bloodstains all over his body. The directors scrunch their faces in disgust. " Why are you bent on disgracing your father and brothers? Did you come to the hospital like that?" one of the directors asked, his face pinched into a scowl. " I saved two lives in an accident." Slade replied grimly. "Do you have a problem with me?" The director was stunned, his lips parted as if to speak, but no words came out. " If you have nothing to say, I'll take my leave. Enjoy your board meeting." Slade said, walking past them. However, Micheal's voice halted him. " Have you forgotten you're performing the prime minister's son's surgery?" Micheal asked, his voice taunting. " I haven't forgotten, brother. Why would I forget something so important when my future is at stake?" Slade replied with the same enthusiasm. " Let's duel and end your pride." Micheal said, and Slade halted, turning to look at Micheal over his shoulder. " Pride, you say?" He chuckled, his voice sharp like the edge of a sword. " Yes, because you saved a patient's life a few days ago, now you think you can beat me." " Let's duel then." Slade agreed. The terms were set: a surgical competition on patients with the same illness. The winner would be the first to finish. " If I win against you, you'll kneel down and lick my shoes and call me daddy, but if you win against me, you can decide what you want from me." Slade said, and a big smile found its way to Micheal's lips. His head began to conjure up different mischievous ways to send Slade out of the medical center. The directors were extremely shocked at how confident Slade was about the duel. Most of them began to bet on Micheal, the best surgeon at Goshen Medical Center. Micheal was their father's chosen head of surgeons, while Slade was an errand doctor, never allowed near the operating room. So to them, the winner was already obvious. " Let's get to that." Slade smirked and walked away. …. The surgical duel was arranged, and some of the directors served as judges. The competition was taking place in the largest operating room at Goshen Medical Center, which was big enough to accommodate four surgical tables. Slade stood before the mirror in the washroom, staring at himself. " You're no longer the old Slade. Remember that. You were given a second chance to rise to power and face-slap all your enemies!" He washed his hands, then dressed in a surgical gown, nose mask, and cap. Once he finished, he assumed the surgical hand position: hands away from his body, palms facing upwards, fingers spread apart. He inhaled and exhaled before entering the operating room, where Micheal was already waiting. ……. The surgical teams were ready. The patients lay on the operating tables, covered with clean sheets. The assisting doctors and nurses were all scrubbed in and wearing gloves. " Start now!" one of the directors stood as the timekeeper. Slade and Micheal made the first cut at the same time. The patients both had stomach cancer and were to be operated on in the stomach. Michael's team consisted of the best assisting surgeons, while Slade was given rookie surgeons. Caleb ensured this happened so Micheal could win against Slade and make him worthless. The assisting teams helped, providing instruments and suctioning blood from the patients. The anesthesiologists ensured the patients received anesthesia before surgery, so they wouldn't feel pain during the procedure. Everyone was impressed with Michael's fast hands skills during the operation. No one focused on Slade, as they had already written him off and couldn't wait for Micheal to be announced the winner. However, unknown to them, Slade's hands skills were exceptionally fast. His speed was almost impossible to follow, leaving his assisting surgeons dizzy. They were amazed by his skills and began to admire him. Their initial hatred turned into admiration. The surgery time was forty minutes, and everyone was impressed with Micheal's performance. He smiled, staring up at the glass separating him from the judges. Caleb smiled back at his brother, but his smile disappeared when he glanced at Slade. His eyes widened, and his mouth parted open as he tried to follow Slade's rapid suturing skills. He swallowed, his eyes never leaving Slade, wondering how he acquired such extraordinary skills. Just as Micheal was about to start suturing his patient, Slade dropped his tools and looked at Micheal, whose brows furrowed in confusion. " I'm done." Slade said. Everyone was shocked, especially Micheal and the directors. They couldn't believe Slade finished the surgery in less than twenty minutes. " How...how...did you do that?" Micheal stuttered, staring at Slade's patient, whose heart rate was normal, with no sign of fluctuation on the ECG monitor. He was shocked to his core, sweat clouding his forehead. " So, brother, where did we stop in the duet?" Slade smirked. Micheal swallowed hard, as he ran his lips over his dry lips. “ What ..what are you talking about?” Micheal tried feigning ignorance but Slade chuckled. “ I will be waiting for you to kneel in front of me, lick my shoes and call me daddy!” Most of Slade's surgical assistants cackled in laughter.
