Adam was shocked and stunned by her request. It wasn't like Kayla was too young to stay alone since there were a majority of teenagers, living alone.

"Are you scared that she might start staying up late at night when you ain't around?" Adam asked.

"Adam, I know my sister and she is always afraid of staying outside at night but she needs help, we both need help. Fine, I know you are confused but let me explain. I'm entering the palace on Monday to contest for the prince's bride and I can't leave her alone because she will be in danger. I want to be at peace while inside the palace.I don't know why I'm telling you this but she needs someone that I can entrust her safety with, pending the time that I'll leave the palace. It's just for a month" she explained to the best of her knowledge, not wanting Adam to know what was happening.

With the way she was speaking, Adam could only see the worries of a big sister to her younger sister and from her conversation, she was desperate.
