The Secret Kiss

They stopped at a restaurant in the city for dinner. Daniel just realized that they haven't eaten since this afternoon.

Jesselyn shoved the spoon into Daniel's mouth.

"I can feed myself, Jess," Daniel said.

"I want to feed you, just once," he begged.

Daniel also chose to give in and put the food in his mouth. Jesselyn handed him a second spoon. Daniel responded by glaring.

"Haha." Jesselyn grinned.

"What's wrong with that woman?" Jesselyn asked a few minutes later.

"You don't need to know," Daniel snapped.

"I want to know, Daniel." Again Jesselyn insisted.

“Chronic heart disease,” Daniel finally answered.

"Means he will die soon?"

"Do not talk like that!" he replied.

Jesselyn smiled faintly. “But, you did wish for him to die, right? Of course it would be better if he died sooner. So you don't need to be afraid of your wife knowing all that."

Daniel didn't answer. What Jesselyn said was true. For that reason he was willing to comply with his mother's request to marry Amanda. Daniel tho
