He's Shocked and Accuses It of Being Fake

"I was invited by Vera," William replied calmly. Although Jordan looked angry, he tried to keep his demeanor casual and unprovoked.

However, Jordan did not take the explanation well. He stood in front of the door, blocking William's way in. "You're just making the air in here stink, better leave!" he said in an annoyed tone.

Meanwhile, Vera, who saw the commotion, felt the need to intervene. She walked over to them and welcomed William in a friendly manner. "Willi, are you here?" she said with a big smile. Although the situation was a little tense because of Jordan's presence, she tried to keep the atmosphere warm and friendly.

William turned to Vera and nodded slowly. "Ah, yes," he replied with a faint smile. He was relieved that Vera's presence made the situation a little calmer.

Jordan moved to the corner of the room, he stood there and his eyes watched William and Vera who were talking. Her facial expression was serious, her lips tightly sealed against any words that might make the situation worse. He felt that the situation was already complicated enough with the tension between him and William. Silently, he chose to be a spectator in this drama, observing every gesture and word thrown by William and Vera.

"What did you ride here?" she asked William in a friendly tone.

"I rode a bicycle," William replied, smiling lightly at Vera.

"Come on in," Vera invited. "You must be tired, I have plenty of food for you."

Jordan seemed to be burning with anger. His right hand was clenched tightly into a fist, expressing the anger and frustration he was feeling. His eyes stared intently at William and Vera.

Seeing Jordan's increasingly tense facial expression, Merida quickly approached her lover. She felt the need to quell Jordan's anger before the situation got any worse.

"'Let it go,'" Merida whispered softly in Jordan's ear as she held his clenched hand. "Just let him be."

Jordan just grunted, choosing not to give any response to Merida's words. He still felt upset, but he knew that he had to restrain himself from making things even worse.

In the back garden of Vera's house, people had started to gather. They came with a variety of gifts. Some brought flowers, while others brought boxes of personal items. The atmosphere in the garden was festive and warm.

Vera was busy organizing everything. She told everyone to enjoy the lunch that had been prepared at the buffet table.

"Please enjoy lunch," she said in a friendly voice with a big smile.

William was still silent in the corner of the room. He hadn't eaten like everyone else and seemed a little awkward about the situation.

Jordan saw this and immediately tried to tease William. "What if only those who brought gifts can eat?" he said. He thought that William hadn't brought any gifts because he didn't see William come in with anything when he entered Vera's house.

Vera was annoyed with Jordan's attitude. She couldn't understand why Jordan kept trying to ruin the party with his snide remarks. "I invited friends, not gifts!"

"Come on, it's only once a year. Does anyone really come here just to eat for free?" Jordan scoffed.

Vera was almost angry at Jordan's words. She felt that Jordan had gone too far and had no right to organize her party. "Jordan, you have no right to organize my party!" Vera snapped in a raised tone of voice.

William remained calm despite the heat of the moment. He smiled and finally responded to the situation. "Don't worry, Vera," William said, smiling broadly at Vera. "I brought a gift for you." His words were like a breeze in the middle of a storm, providing a bit of calm in the midst of the commotion.

Jordan rounded her eyes, surprised by William's confession. She didn't expect that William actually brought a gift for Vera.

"Will, did you bring a present for me?" asked Vera in a tone full of admiration. Her face looked radiant, showing how happy and surprised she was by William's confession.

William nodded and smiled at Vera. "Yes... I bought a gift for you. I was going to give it to you last when the party is over."

Vera smiled widely at William's explanation. "It's okay, Will," she said, stroking William's arm in a friendly manner. "Give it to me later."

Jordan couldn't help but notice the interaction between Vera and William. He immediately interrupted and accused William of giving stolen goods to Vera.

"You gave the stolen goods to Vera," Jordan accused. "That's why you wanted to give it to her last!"

William was unfazed by Jordan's accusations. "I'm not a thief, Vera knows that too." His voice was full of conviction and he seemed unperturbed by Jordan's provocative words.

Jordan had to contain her anger. He was frustrated that William seemed unfazed by his provocations.

Sarah, Vera's cousin had just arrived at the party. Seeing her presence, Vera immediately welcomes her warmly. After welcoming Sarah, Vera then introduced William to Sarah.

"Will, this is my cousin," said Vera while pointing at Sarah.

William extended his hand to shake Sarah's hand. "Hello," he greeted kindly. "I'm William."

Instead of returning William's handshake, Sarah gave him a contemptuous look. She seemed to look down on William's shabby appearance and ugly clothes. Sarah chose not to greet William back and left the two of them without saying a word.

Jordan saw this and immediately took the opportunity to approach Sarah. He extended his hand, inviting Sarah to make his acquaintance. "Hello, I'm Jordan," he said in a friendly voice.

Sarah seemed more receptive to Jordan's gesture and welcomed him warmly. They then started talking and seemed to get along well with each other.

William felt left out. He felt uncomfortable with the way Sarah had treated him and how Jordan had approached Sarah immediately afterwards. After a while, they all started eating lunch together. They prayed to Vera before eating, enjoyed the cake that had been provided, and then Vera invited everyone to open the gifts that the guests had brought.

Before the opening ceremony started, Jordan suddenly stood up and caught everyone's attention. "Guys!" he exclaimed with a big smile. "William today, for the first time, said he brought a gift for Vera," he continued, pointing at William. "Why don't we see what it is first?"

Vera glared at Jordan, annoyed by his suggestion. "Jordan, you don't have to do that!"

Jordan didn't seem to heed Vera's rebuke. "Come on, I'm curious too," he said, winking at the other guests. "He can't even give me anything for my birthday. What about his best friend?" he continued in a scornful tone.

Vera wanted to speak again, but William immediately prevented her. "My gift is on the bike, let me get it first," William said as he stood up from his seat. He then left for a while to get the gift he had prepared for Vera. The gift was wrapped in a cheap plastic bag which made some people at the party mock and laugh.

William gave the gift to Vera. He smiled broadly and said, "This is for you."

Vera unwrapped the gift, encouraged by the urgency of the other guests. Jordan, Merida, and a few other guests seemed to underestimate William's gift because it was small and wrapped in plastic. They laughed and whispered to each other, mocking the appearance of the gift. But when Vera took out the contents of the package, there was an instant silence.

"Will, this is--" Vera was shocked, unable to finish her sentence.

William smiled at Vera and nodded. "Yes, it's for you," he replied, looking at Vera. In her hand was a luxurious watch with a huge price tag!

The guests at the party looked shocked and wondered how William could possibly have gotten such an expensive watch. But Jordan immediately broke the ice by saying, "It's a fake!"
