Luxury Car

The commotion that ensued made the atmosphere even more heated. The accusers continued to talk, accuse and spread slander about William. Vera was upset with the situation. She could no longer stand hearing her friends talk badly about William. She raised her right hand, showing the watch that William had just given her as a birthday present. The watch looked luxurious and elegant on her wrist, although there were some people who called it a fake.

"Fake or not, I accept William's gift!" she exclaimed in a loud voice.

They were surprised by Vera's reaction, which was so assertive and brave in defense of William.

William was not happy with the situation. He felt guilty that his gift had earned Vera the ridicule and scorn of the other guests. The commotion at the party gets worse as people start talking louder and louder and the atmosphere becomes more and more heated.

Merida asked one of her friends there. "Richard, your father collects fancy watches, doesn't he?" she asked. "You must know whether they're real or not."

"I haven't seen anything like it. Looking at it from here, I think it's an original." He answered truthfully.

Jordan didn't accept. "Counterfeits these days can look very similar to the real thing. Don't be fooled!"

"There's no need for you to talk like that!" scolded Vera again. This time her voice was almost drowned out by the other people's voices. The atmosphere became increasingly noisy and William felt sorry for Vera. He felt that his presence was making Vera's birthday party unpleasant.

Finally, William decided to leave the party. "Vera, happy birthday," he said. "I'd better go."

Without thinking, William turned around and hurried to leave the party. But before he could actually leave, Vera seemed to catch up with him.

"William, wait!" she shouted.

William immediately stopped. He looked back and saw Vera who seemed to be running towards him. Her face looked serious and she seemed intent on discussing something with William.

"Will, I'm sorry. You don't have to listen to them and I accept your gift." Vera was really sorry for what happened.

William smiled at Vera and shook his head. "I'm not angry," he replied in a calm voice. "But, for once, I must go."

"Why are you leaving?" asked Vera with a confused look on her face.

William looked at Vera for a moment before answering, "I have an extra job. I had to take it because I needed the money." He had to lie because ten minutes before arriving at Vera's house, Evan had told him that William had to come to a business center in town to sign a partnership.

William's name was already listed there as a shareholder.

Not long after, Sarah caught up with the two of them and grabbed Vera by the arm. "Vera, let's go back inside," she asked, looking at William with a cold gaze.

"Wait a minute," Vera cut in while releasing Sarah's grip on her arm.

Sarah was not about to let Vera get close to William. Instead, she said, "Just let him go."

"He has a right to be at this party!" Vera defended.

Sarah gave William a disgusted look. "He's already embarrassed you with the fake watch. Don't let him stay at your party," she said in a sharp tone of voice to Vera.

William shook his head and defended himself, "Trust me, I don't give fake gifts."

Sarah got even angrier and fired back, "That watch is very expensive! You think you can lie to Vera!"

Before things could get too heated, Vera spoke up to calm things down. "Never mind!" she said as she asked Sarah to come in first.

William smiled slightly and told Vera, "Trust me, I'm not giving a fake gift. I'll send the certificate to your house later."

Vera was surprised to hear William's explanation. She wanted to say something, but her words caught in her throat.

Even though Vera seemed to want to say something, William still decided to excuse himself. He felt that he had to leave the party immediately so as not to add to the commotion.

After all, William did have to leave because he was going to Star D, which was one of the business centers in the city. He pedaled his bike towards Star D.

On the way, a Lamborghini suddenly blocked his way. The luxury car stopped right in front of him and took him by surprise.

William immediately thought that he was going to get beat up again. He was used to this kind of situation and was prepared for what would happen next.

The door of the Lamborghini opened and a man in a black suit got out of the car. He looked elegant and authoritative with several dashing-looking bodyguards standing behind him.

The man bowed to William and said, "Young Master."

William was confused because he didn't recognize the man. "You -" he said while trying to figure out who the man in front of him was.

The man then bowed again and introduced himself, "I'm Evan. The person assigned to guard and help you."

Hearing Evan's explanation, William was quite surprised. He never expected to meet someone like Evan in a situation like this.

"So, you're the one?" asked William.

Evan then bowed again and apologized to William. "Sorry, sir, I'm just introducing myself now."

William thought for a moment before finally saying, "That's okay."

Evan was relieved. He seemed grateful that William wasn't angry and could accept his presence well.

"What are you doing blocking my way?" William asked.

"You're going to Star D, aren't you?"

William nodded slowly in response to Evan's question. "Yes, I'm going there."

Hearing the answer from William made Evan make a surprising offer. He opened the door of the luxurious black Lamborghini and said, "Then take a ride with me."

The offer made William surprised and silent for a moment. He never expected that he would be invited to ride in such a luxury car by the person who had just introduced himself as his bodyguard.

William paid close attention to the car in front of him. It was the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster, a super-luxury and extremely rare car. With production limited to only nine units worldwide, it is one of the most exclusive and expensive vehicles, costing several million dollars.

"Is that my grandfather's car?" asked William, pointing at the Lamborghini.

Evan just smiled at William's question. He shook his head slowly before answering, "Oh, no." His smile grew wider when he added information that made William shocked in disbelief, "That was your car and you still have ten more different cars."

Hearing Evan's explanation left William speechless for a moment. The shock was evident in his eyes. He never expected that he had eleven such luxury cars. How is that possible?
