Unexpected Meeting

When dawn broke the next day, William was already in the doorway of his apartment, ready to start the day with renewed vigor. With his casual clothes and favorite hat, he left the modest apartment and started pedaling his old bicycle towards the city center. Her main destination was a shopping center and she wanted to buy something. Whether it was jewelry or maybe a watch.

The fresh morning air lifted her spirits. The quiet streets of the city made William's ride even more enjoyable. Enthusiasm bubbling up in him, he was eager to choose the best gift for his best friend.

Upon arriving at the accessories store, William was greeted by the sight of a display case filled with various types of luxurious and charming accessories. Diamond earrings, pearl bracelets, and gold necklaces adorned the store. He felt a little confused about what to choose, but he knew that Vera would love something unique and meaningful. As she was busy picking out items, she suddenly spotted two familiar figures among the other customers. Merida and Jordan.

Merida and Jordan walked arm-in-arm along the aisles of the store, laughing together while looking at the items on display. They seemed to be enjoying the atmosphere of the store, occasionally pointing to certain items and talking about them enthusiastically. However, William seemed to ignore their presence. He prefers to focus on his mission today. Finding the best gift for Vera. He doesn't want to be distracted by anything else.

William is interested in giving Vera a luxury watch. He remembers that a few months ago Vera lost her watch while she was on vacation. He walked into a shop that sold original watches of various brands.

The shop assistant was very friendly and helped William choose the right watch as Vera's birthday present. The waitress patiently explained every detail of the watches displayed, making suggestions based on Vera's tastes and needs that William had told her beforehand. Not only that, but the waiter also offered some additional services such as time setting and band adjustment for free. William used the saleswoman's hand size because he saw that they were the same height and weight.

After much thought, considering various options and getting help from the shop assistant, William finally decided to buy a Rolex Oyster Perpetual watch. The watch is famous for its elegant design and precise mechanism. Its beautifully lustrous surface, which is processed with a special technique, adds a sense of luxury to the watch. With a happy and relieved heart, William completed the payment process. He felt happy that he had managed to find the perfect gift for Vera.

As he was about to leave the store, he saw Jordan start walking towards him. With his steady steps and his trademark serious face, Jordan was probably going to annoy him.

Seeing the situation, William chose to hurriedly leave the store. He didn't want to get involved in any arguments or fuss today. He preferred to keep his energy for Vera's birthday party preparations.

"Sir, let me pack your watch order first," the saleswoman said politely.

"No need," William replied quickly. "I'm in a hurry." He reached into his wallet, paid for the watch and quickly took it from the counter. Without waiting any longer, he left the store.

Jordan who watched the whole thing from a distance knew that William was deliberately avoiding him. He looked disappointed and a little angry.

"That William is always running away from me!" He grumbled.

Merida who was standing next to Jordan just shook her head and said, "Let it go, we're just wasting our time."

Jordan wasn't satisfied with that answer

Merida looked curious and asked Jordan, "What does he want from there?"

Jordan frowned for a moment before answering sarcastically, "I think he just wanted to steal."

Merida disagreed with Jordan's assumption. She knew that William was not that kind of person. Even though he was a poor adopted son who had been kicked out, Meridak was sure William wouldn't do that.

"What if he buys a fancy watch?" asked Merida in a curious tone.

Jordan looked at the store with a serious expression. "No way!" he replied firmly. He was sure that William would never do such a thing. The money from which he bought the luxury watch.

However, his curiosity about what William was really doing made Jordan decide to check it out for himself. He walked towards the store with steady steps.

"Excuse me!" greeted Jordan as he entered the store. His loud voice caught the attention of the saleswoman who was behind the counter.

The saleswoman looked surprised for a moment at Jordan's arrival. "Yes, Sir, how may I help you?" she asked Jordan politely.

"I'd like to know what the young man bought," Jordan said in a serious tone. Merida, who was standing beside him, looked at the saleswoman with a curious expression.

"Oh, he bought a Rolex Oyster Perpetual," the saleswoman replied, mentioning the watch brand and its high price.

Jordan and Merida looked shocked at the answer. They hadn't expected William to spend such a large sum of money on a luxury watch.

"Would you like to see our collection too, sir?" the saleswoman asked Jordan, trying to sell him more items.

"No!" Jordan quickly refused. He knew that he wouldn't have enough money to buy the luxury watches in the store. Without waiting any longer, he turned around and walked out of the store.

Merida looked confused at Jordan's reaction. She chose not to ask any questions. She followed Jordan out of the store.

"William bought a fancy watch?" said Merida in a surprised tone. The news was completely unexpected.

"Don't be stupid!" replied Jordan in an annoyed tone. He was frustrated that Merida was the same as Mickey who was able to lie to William.

"I'm sure it's not for him. Most likely he was just sent by someone!" Jordan continued, trying to find the best reason why William could buy such an expensive watch.

Merida could only remain silent as she listened to Jordan's words. She didn't dare say much for fear of saying the wrong thing and making Jordan even more upset. She knew that her lover was in an emotional state and it was better for her to hold back for a while.

A few days later, Jordan received an invitation to attend a party at Vera's house. Although they weren't close, Vera saw Jordan as a friend and also William's foster brother. So, she felt the need to invite him.

During the party, Jordan accidentally bumped into William. They were both equally surprised to see each other's presence at the event. However, their reactions were very different. Jordan looked angry at William's arrival. His face was flushed and his eyes stared intently at the young man. He felt that a hobo like William in Vera's house would only spoil the atmosphere.

"William, why are you here!" Jordan said in a high tone. Everyone in the room looked surprised at his loud voice and started to turn their heads towards the two of them.
