CHAPTER 67

After hours, the lights in the operating room turned off. "The surgery is complete," the doctor announced, stepping out. His expression was neutral, revealing neither positive nor negative emotions.

Leonard stepped up in a frantic hurry, rushing to see his son without waiting to hear what the doctor would say next.

Victor’s room was filled with a sterile silence. The only sound that could be heard was the loud beeping of monitors that showed his heart rate and the condition of some of his other vitals.

Leonard's face dropped at how pale Victor looked under the hospital lights. His eyes remained closed.

The doctor who had been writing down some things finally looked up with a smile.

“The surgery was successful,” he started, his voice sober and calm. “The implant is in place. It was a long procedure, and it might take some time for him to recover fully. Soon, he will be back on his feet."

"That will be better. The only thing I want to hear is good news."
