“Jessica,” he said, nodding at her. “I need to discuss something with you..."

Jessica, wanting to hold Winter's hand as she stretched it forward, withdrew it.

She glanced at Kael, narrowing her eyes before standing up.

The lady patted Winter's back, gently reminding her, " Your body needs a lot of rest."

" I know, Jessica. I won't stress myself in any manner."

A satisfied smile crept on Winter's lips, assuring Jessica.

Jessica smiled back at her and went ahead to meet Kael.

During this interaction between the two ladies, Emily observed them both, realization dawning on her face.

Jessica had won over Winter, using her profession as a gateway, she thought.

Now, it was obvious Winter would stick to Jessica and the latter could take advantage of this chance.

Damn!

She had to admit Jessica was smart and witted in this aspect!

Implementing her goals through a potential link. While James was her goal, the potential link turned out to be Winter.

Great!

She paused, snapping her fingers. " Learn to stay away from what's none of your concern. I want James, and you aren't going to stop me because of what you feel about me. Get that clear! Your feelings doesn't count, the only thing I care about is James!''" This is what you have turned into, Jessica?" Kael said through gritted teeth, his knuckles turning into white as he continued fisting his palms! " This is not what I have turned into. This is what you believed that I am now." Saying this, she flipped her hair to one side, uncrossing her arms. She took one last glance at Kael, disregarding him and any of his words with her impolite look. " Stay out of this Kael, or will you be the shameless chit chat that would inform James about this new update? No one can change my mind! I will win over James, and he will be my god of war!" Afterwards, she strode past Kael, out of the room, as she withdraw her eyes away from him, clicking her tongue. A quick flash of frown appeared

The instant the statement was uttered from her lips, a suffocating atmosphere blasted through the phone! "Ha!" Juliet yelled, her hands on the phone trembling terribly, shuffling a step backward. "The nerve of you?" A deep growl echoed from the other end of the call, sending an uncontrollable fear to her heart! " Tell me if you are tired of living, I will grant your request!" " No.........I....am....not." Juliet stammered, her voice above a whisper, and shook her head multiple times. " It was.....a mistake. ..I didn't mean to say such. ....I didn't think of what I just said..... please...pardon me." " Get me, Emily, and if you don't, get ready for your whole family to be burnt down to ashes!" Code Red commanded fiercely. " Only if you follow my wish can you enjoy your life and rise higher in status and wealth!" Beep beep The man ended the call instantly after his cold order to Emily, whose hand was still trembling due to the fear earlier. After a while, Juliet sucked

" Tell me a good news." He spoke up, answering the call excitedly. " It's better to be a good one worthy of my time or you will be fired!" " Oh yes, it is, Mr. Zhao." The secretary at the other end answered enthusiastically. " What is it?!" Zhao's eagerness grew immediately, brimming at his face. " Mr. Zhao, our plummeting stocks have risen more than thirty percent this morning, and we have got numerous calls about foreign investors willing to cooperate with the Song corporation. This would lead to more income, approximately some billion dollars, including our products that are now back in the market." Hearing the analysis of his secretary, Zhao's eyes lit up extremely well, suppressing his urge to scream out as he clenched his fists! Yes! He had done it! He saved his company once again! How he wished his grandson could saved majestically like this?! He would have been the happiest man among the world's eight billion population! Satisfaction roamed across his eyes, no

At the base house, James walked down the dimly lit hallway and entered the living area, where Winter was waiting. Her posture tensed, eyes scanning the doorway. She seemed almost restless as if the weight of the secrets were pressing down on her shoulders. James gave her a curt nod as he approached.“Winter,” he greeted her, his voice calm but with a hint of curiosity. He knew she had valuable information about the Tarlose family, which couldn't be delayed now. Winter met his gaze, her eyes sharp. “James, I told you I have solid evidence against the Tarlose,” she began. “I have tried to open my account through the available computer here. I know who’s helping them, and I know those that have been hurt by them too.”James nodded, encouraging her to continue. “That’s good. It’s exactly what we need. We can’t go after them without understanding who’s on their side,” he spoke up, his eyes calculating. “What else do you know?”Winter hesitated, glancing away before speaking, “Ther

Emily’s eyes widened, and she covered her mouth as shock etched on her face! “Oh my goodness! Is this real?!" she whispered, her voice barely containing her excitement. The lady almost jumped, unable to calm the rush of emotions in her! The call made a scream build in her, relieving her of the sad emotions earlier. What?! A large corporation willing to invest one billion dollars in the Thompson company which was already on the verge of collapsing soon. Oh, the one billion dollars could save the company at the moment..She thought if this was the investor from James but immediately shook her head, doubting it. If it truly was, James would have informed her right and it couldn't possibly be a surprise. Feeling more than excitement brimming in her eyes, she spoke up confidently, " Yes, yes! I will be at the company as soon as possible." Then the call was hung up from the other end.Quickly, she stood up and skipped over to where Sarah was, not willing to waste even a second

At the same time, Emily had just gotten to the company, together with Sarah. The little girl couldn’t stop blinking her eyes, admiring the tall building of the Thompsons' company and pointing out things that were catchy and attractive to her. ‘’ Don’t cause a scene, Sarah, there are so many people watching us and you have to keep it low alright?’’ Emily cautioned her daughter, tapping on her nose gently. ‘’ if you don’t behave, there won’t be any princess party. Is that clear?’’ Hearing what her mother just said, Sarah pouted, finding it unfair. It had been a while since she had gone out and only wanted to admire the beauty of the city. ‘’ I know what you are thinking baby.’’ Emily let out a quiet sigh, rubbing her daughter’s hands lovingly with hers. ‘’ There’s always time for everything. You will be able to admire the beauty around you once we are done with the big deal. You can your fun the way you like , but right now, the big deal comes first sweetie.’’ Blinking her eyes

Maybe you will learn how to treat people better."‘’ I can’t believe you, Emily, you don’t act like my daughter!’’ Juliet shook her head, contorting her eyes, unable to accept what Emily was saying. This couldn’t be!‘’ You should learn to talk to me better and do the right thing otherwise I will kick you out of the house and never recognize you! You have caused so many problems for me and your daughter, starting from when you had a nightstand with your penniless husband and carrying an illegitimate child! We condone all your mistakes, Emily, and now you couldn’t do the same for us? " It comes with a price. Are you willing to pay the price attached to the investment?" Instantly, the poor light in Emily's eyes reduced drastically, her jaws clenching on their own! " What kind of price?!" She had no idea an investment requires a price. Or, what could this strange man be up to? " I see you are eager about the price." Code Red taunted, gently tapping on the desk." Just tell me what I need to know!" Emily had almost lost her self-control as she blurted out! " Mr. Enzo Black is our benefactor. Do you think any other person is interested in our dying company? You should respect him! Whatever you want is what you should give to him!"'Juliet intervened, glaring at Emily with dissatisfaction brimming at the corner of her eyes. Although this was also her first time meeting with the mysterious man, it was not as bad as she thought, except for his aloof kind of attitude. And this might also be her chance to achieve her goals, which she wouldn't let Emily destro

The war room was alive with activity. Monitors displayed live feeds of coordinated raids across multiple countries. Law enforcement teams stormed Syndicate facilities, dismantling their operations piece by piece. James stood at the center of it all, his arms crossed, his gaze fixed on the screens.Kael entered the room, holding a tablet. “Just got confirmation—another shipment intercepted in Rotterdam. That makes twelve facilities down in the last 48 hours.”James nodded, his expression grim but satisfied. “It’s a start. The rest will follow.”Winter’s voice cut through the commotion. “I’ve traced the remaining financial backers. Emily’s team is already preparing the exposure campaign.”Kael grinned. “That’s going to sting. Nothing like dragging corrupt billionaires into the spotlight.”James’s voice was steady. “This only works if we stay ahead of them. The Syndicate thrives in the shadows. We drag them into the light, and they fall apart.”At Emily’s office, the atmosphere was just

The reinforced door creaked open, revealing Andre’s command center. The room was a stark contrast to the rest of the base—brightly lit, with sleek monitors displaying surveillance feeds and tactical maps.At the center stood Andre, flanked by his personal guard, all armed and ready.Andre turned slowly, a smug smile spreading across his face.“Radcliffe. You finally made it. I was starting to think you got lost in the tunnels.”James stepped forward, his team at his back, weapons raised.“It’s over, Andre. Stand down.”Andre chuckled, spreading his arms theatrically.“Over? Oh no, Radcliffe. This is just the beginning. Look at you—storming in here, guns blazing. Do you even realize how much destruction you’ve left in your wake?”James’s voice was calm but firm.“Spare me the speeches. You’ve done more harm than I ever could.”Andre’s smile widened, his tone mocking.“Haven’t I, though? But tell me, James—how many lives have you ruined in your so-called quest for justice? The stale air of the tunnel hung heavy as James led his team deeper into the darkness. Their flashlights cut narrow beams through the gloom, illuminating jagged walls and rusted support beams. Every step echoed ominously, the sound swallowed by the oppressive silence.Kael’s voice broke through the tension. “Does it feel like we’re walking straight into a trap, or is that just me?”“It’s not just you,” James replied, his voice low. “Stay sharp. Andre’s not leaving anything to chance.”Winter’s voice came through their earpieces. “You’re about fifty meters from the first checkpoint. Be ready—there’s no way he left this unguarded.”As they rounded a corner, a sudden click echoed beneath Kael’s boot. He froze, glancing down.“Trap,” Kael muttered.James stepped forward, crouching to examine the pressure plate beneath Kael’s foot. His jaw tightened as he assessed the mechanism.“It’s a fragmentation mine,” James said. “Don’t move.”Kael smirked despite the tension. “Wasn’t planning on it.

The newsroom buzzed with activity as Andre’s broadcast played across every major network. He stood before a sleek backdrop bearing the Syndicate’s emblem, his posture confident and his voice smooth.“Citizens of the world,” Andre began, his tone dripping with authority, “James Radcliffe, the so-called ‘hero,’ has been lying to you. He is no savior. He is a destroyer. And I have proof.”The screen shifted to show doctored footage of James, his voice and face manipulated to make it seem like he was planning a devastating attack on Emily’s company headquarters.Andre’s voice returned, grim and commanding.“Tomorrow, this tower will burn, and it will be Radcliffe’s doing. But don’t worry—I will be there to rebuild from the ashes.”At the Radcliffe estate, James stood in front of the television, his fists clenched. The footage looped, showing his manipulated image over and over again.“Turn it off,” he said, his voice low but filled with fury.Kael, holding the remote, complied.“He’s good

The icy mountain air cut through the silence as James and his team crouched in the shadow of a jagged ridge. The weapons cache loomed in the distance—a massive steel structure carved into the mountain’s rock face, its entrance heavily guarded by Syndicate forces.James’s voice broke the tense quiet, calm but firm.“Winter, status?”Winter’s voice crackled through his earpiece.“Security systems are standard Syndicate setup. Cameras, motion detectors, and probably a few surprises inside. I can loop the cameras, but you’ll need to move fast once you’re in.”Kael adjusted his rifle.“Standard Syndicate setup means more than just guards. They’ll have traps waiting for us, too.”“They always do,” James said, his eyes scanning the facility. “We stick to the plan. Infiltrate, disable the weapons, and get out.”Emily’s voice came through the comms, steady and supportive. “Be careful, James. We don’t know what surprises Andre left behind.”James’s jaw tightened. “We’ll handle it.”The team mov

The dimly lit cell felt colder than usual as James entered, the door clanging shut behind him. Zhao sat calmly on the cot, his legs crossed, a faint smirk on his face. The bruises from his capture had faded, but his arrogance remained intact.“Ah, Radcliffe,” Zhao said, his tone light and mocking. “Come to gloat? Or are you here to entertain me with more empty threats?”James’s expression didn’t waver as he pulled a chair across the room, the sound scraping against the concrete floor. He sat down directly in front of Zhao, his gaze unflinching.“This isn’t a game, Zhao,” James said, his voice low and cold. “Andre’s making moves, and I know you’ve been in contact with him.”Zhao chuckled, leaning back against the wall. “Andre? Ambitious, isn’t he? But unpredictable. He doesn’t listen like I did.”James slammed his hand on the table, the sound reverberating through the small space. “Enough with the theatrics. What’s his plan?”Zhao tilted his head, feigning innocence. “Even if I knew, w

The compound buzzed with energy as James outlined his plan, his voice steady and commanding despite the chaos outside.“We use their aggression against them,” James said, pointing at a map of the stronghold displayed on a monitor.“Andre thinks brute force will break us, but we’ll turn this into his worst nightmare. Set up traps in these choke points, and we’ll ambush them where they least expect it.”Kael nodded, his face grim but focused. “What about their heavy hitters? The Titan’s leading their frontline. He’s not exactly easy to miss.”James looked at Kael, his tone sharp. “You’ll take him. Keep him busy, and make sure he doesn’t disrupt the traps.”Kael smirked, adjusting the strap of his rifle. “You always give me the fun jobs.”Winter’s voice came through the comms. “I’ve breached their network. I can start feeding false intel, but it’ll only buy us so much time.”James nodded. “Do it. Confusion is our best weapon right now.”Emily, standing nearby, stepped forward. “And what

The first explosion ripped through the quiet morning, sending debris raining down on the outer wall of the stronghold. The alarms blared almost instantly, red lights flashing across the compound as James and Kael sprinted toward the command center.“They’re hitting us hard,” Kael said, adjusting his rifle as they ran. “They didn’t waste any time.”“They want to overwhelm us,” James replied, his voice steady. “But they don’t know what we’re capable of.”Winter’s voice crackled through their earpieces. “Andre’s forces are coming from three directions: the north, east, and west. They’re heavily armed, and they’ve got tech we haven’t seen before. We’re deploying countermeasures, but the outer defenses won’t hold for long.”“Then we make our stand inside,” James said. “Get everyone ready.”The compound shook as another explosion rocked the north wall. Kael barked orders to a group of defenders, his voice cutting through the chaos.“Set up suppressing fire here! Cover the entrance and don’t

Zhao’s arrest is a temporary setback—but only if we act decisively.”One of the other leaders, a grizzled man named Viktor, sneered. “And what’s your plan, Velasquez? To throw more bodies at Radcliffe and hope he doesn’t kill them all?”Andre smirked. “Not hope—strategy. Radcliffe isn’t invincible. His allies are his weakness. We crush them, and he’ll crumble under the weight of his own failures.”Another leader, a sharp-eyed woman named Leona, folded her arms. “You’re suggesting an all-out assault? That’ll
