Chapter 43: confession

Emily's voice broke the silence, her tone laced with concern.

"Kael, where are we heading?"

Kael's gaze remained fixed on the road ahead, his jaw clenched.

The tension in his body was palpable.

Emily's brows raised.

But Kael's silence was deafening.

Jessica, seated in the backseat, observed the exchange.

Her expression was inscrutable, a mask of calmness.

However, her eyes betrayed a flicker of curiosity.

The car's trunk held a darker secret.

John, bound and gagged.

Kael's face simmered in anger just thinking about John and the audacious things he did again.

He is really writing a death wish!

Damn! He was so impatient to teach the fool a lesson he would never forget in any of his lifetimes!

The car turned off the main road, onto a winding path, which led to a secluded compound.

It appeared secured but heavily fortified.

Kael's phone call was brief. "Send more soldiers and secure the perimeter."

"Nobody gets in or out."

The compound sprang to life.
