CHAPTER 010

Liam arrived home.

“You fool! What have you done? You are such a miscreant. The deal with Top Notch Group has been canceled.” His father yelled.

Liam was shocked.

Top Notch Group canceled the deal with Kendicles.

It can't be true. How did that happen?

Was it the chairman of Top Notch Group that called Rieka?

Locking his gaze with Fiona, he knew he had landed them in a deep mess.

While Dave Grichy kept yelling at his son, he received a call.

“Liam is the reason for all that's happening.”

“Mister Dave, Top Notch Group said after all risk assessments were taken concerning the deal, we don't fit to be in partnership with them.”

“Kendicles share price is drastically falling. Billions of dollars has been lost.”

“The board of shareholders request an explanation from you before they sue us for incompetence and financial fraud.”

“All our properties given to the bank as collateral have been seized until we pay off our loan.”

“Sir, we are now at the peak of all this. Kendicles has gone bankrupt!”

Dave grabbed Liam's throat. Screaming, he shook him wildly. He choked and gasped for oxygen. Silas forcefully pulled Dave's hands away from Liam's throat.

Liam knew the call Rieka received from Brucy Kings was not staged. Indeed, he was taught a lesson the hard way. He heard all the reports given to his father.

The Grichy's were still in a sober state over the death of Senior Grichy.

Now, the Grichy's were debtors, and are bankrupt. They are to start from scratch in the business world.

Standing in the middle of the room, Liam went on his knees.

“I promise, I didn't mean it this way. Brucy Kings made us bankrupt. Rieka Fullams is behind everything starting from the canceled deal…” Tears welled in Liam's eyes as he explained.

Rieka Fullams!

Silas yelled. His expression darkened as he muttered. “You will pay for this, your family and everyone around you will pay. No one would be able to spare you.

“Who do you think you are? How dare you trample upon the Grichys? Brucy Kings, you'll be severely dealt with.”

“There has to be a way out, this is too much to bear at a time.” Sternly, Dave said.

“We can't be mocked in this city,” Fiona added.

Silas was speechless. He excused himself.

At the Fullams.

“I can't wrap my head around what just happened. Rieka, do you have a hidden relationship with Brucy Kings?” Tom queried.

All the Fullams wondered what Tom was heading at.

“Hell no! What's that supposed to mean?” Rieka was confused.

It was all over the news. Rieka received a call from Brucy Kings and he said he was going to teach Liam a lesson. In less than an hour he had taught not just Liam but the Grichy's a big lesson. Indeed, Kings is a man of influence.

The Grichys own one of the largest growing businesses, but within the twinkling of a star, they had gone bankrupt.

Senior Fullams knew the best days for the Fullams had just begun.

“There's nothing to question her about. It doesn't matter, the result of her gaining a job with Top Notch Group speaks volumes and it's for our good.” He spoke.

Senior Fullams spoke. “Rieka, I'm delighted that you are a part of the Fullams. You can have all you want.”

Rieka is no longer seen as a disgrace. All thanks to her appointment with Top Notch Group and connection with Brucy Kings.

“You can return here and we will dwell as one big happy family.” Senior Fullams suggested.

Happily, Rieka replied. “Are you sure about this? I can return?

“Of course, I'm sure!”

“D-Does that mean you've accepted Noah?”

“I never said so, but he can stay for now if you want him around.”

“Yes! I would be glad to have him around. Thank you.”

Rieka went to where Noah sat and hugged him. “ We would live here together!” Butterflies in her belly, she was filled with joy.

Noah giggled. He was happy she reunited back with her family. It made her happy, then he's also happy.

Finally, Noah is now a live-in son-in-law of the Fullams.

Passionate and committed to her job, Rieka hardly spent time at home.

Noah had to do all the chores, from keeping the house clean, to cooking and doing the laundry. He also picked Rieka from work using a scooter.

This life gave him peace unexplainable.

A week later.

Noah finished up his chores and was about to go pick up Rieka from work with his scooter when his phone buzzed.

Glancing at his phone, he got a message.

“ Sir, I need to talk to you, it's about the Grichys.”

Then he replied. “Let's meet at the junction adjacent to Top Notch Group company, Andy”

The next moment, Noah headed to pick up Rieka from work using his scooter.

Adjacent to Top Notch Group company.

Andy rested on a car, scrolling through his phone.

Noah sat on his scooter, as he faced Andy.

“Noah, the life you are living now is annoying. In the real sense, you are like a houseboy coated as a live-in son-in-law. You do the laundry, cook, and even run errands. It can never be me.”

“It might not make sense to you. This kind of living gives peace and happiness. I'm indebted to Rieka forever and I'll do all that will make her happy.”

Noah took a deep breath and advised. “You should also find what makes you happy.”

“To the main point.” Andy turned the conversation to the reason why he asked to see him. “The Grichy's are proving stubborn, despite being bankrupt. Fiona and Silas have devised means to raise money for their business to thrive again. Capitalizing on the influence and rich friends they have, tonight they will be auctioning some items. I'm sure ninety-eight percent of the items were seized from the Kendrick's. Do you remember the statue made of pure gold?”

Noah narrowed his eyes.

However, just then, memories flashed back on Noah's mind.
