Chapter 2

Danny Allen and Jefferson reached the Oakville square in a jiffy.

Immediately Danny Allen and Jefferson entered the Oakville square, they were shocked to their bone marrow.

Not a single person was even bidding up to a thousand for the disfigured Lady who was seated in a slightly opaque casing not far from Lord Edward Morris and Lady Barbara Morris.

Lord Edward Morris had moved the bidding from one million dollars to five hundred dollars and still no one was bidding at all.

The crowd wasn't even paying attention to the whole thing that was going on.

The auctioneer who now had frustration and disappointment laced all over his face immediately stared at Lord Edward Morris and Lady Barbara Morris and they also had the same looks of frustration and disappointment reeking all over them.

The only people who managed to find this all amusing were Kim Morris's cousins, Marc, Luis, Eva and Carol Morris.

Since Kim Morris had gotten her body badly disfigured, her cousins Marc, Luis, Eva and Carol Morris had made her life a living hell.

They have all been trying to sell her off, Eva Morris had once suggested that she be sold to the Metro club downtown but Lord Edward Morris had rejected and came up with the idea of auctioning her.

Even though the Morris's were the second class family in Oakville, their family company, the Morris group has a total valuation of over three billion dollars.

That was nothing compared to the family of the Scotts, Claudes and other top families that had multiple companies all running in hundreds of billions of dollars and some had trillion dollar valuation.

"I knew it, I knew no man would stoop so low as marry or take home such worthless trash as a wife or even as a maid."

"This is such an embarrassment to our family!"

"Grandpa, can you please call this off, no one will come to marry Kim Morris, she is as worthless as a piece of garbage."

Carol Morris's voice was barely above whispers and laced with anger and frustration as she stared at the crowd who were now making mockery of Kim Morris's disfigured body.

"Dad, I'm leaving here immediately, I can't sit and watch as you disrespect us all in the name of trying to get my disfigured daughter a husband."

"I think Eva wasn't right from the very start, we should have just sold Kim to the Metro club, so that she can at least be a bit useful there."

"These crowds here all think that we are trying to force Kim Morris, a disfigured girl down their throats."

Mr Kenneth Morris's voice was laced with a mixture of confusion and disappointment as he stared back into the crowd that had come for the auction.

The situation was intense and palpable as Lord Edward Morris and Lady Barbara Morris stared at Kim's parents, Mr Kenneth and Mrs Tamara Morris.

Lord Edward Morris's gaze landed on Eva Morris and Carol Morris who were already about to leave.

Marc and Luis Morris wanted to see the end of this whole show that their grandfather had put off, so they sat tight.

Danny Allen immediately gazed at the slightly opaque casing where Kim Morris was sitting, he could see tears welling down her eyes slowly.

Danny Allen was immediately hit with a million jolts of emotions as he recalled how Kim Morris had saved him from that burning apartment, everything played through his mind like a well-edited video reel.

"Kim Morris's life wouldn't have been this hell of a mess if she hadn't saved me from that burning apartment."

Danny Allen's voice was barely above whispers as he muttered to himself.

Just as Lord Edward Morris stood up to go and meet the auctioneer to end the auction, Danny Allen immediately raised his hand and yelled “two million dollars”.

"I will pay two million dollars for Kim Morris!"

His voice was laced with authority and determination. The whole crowd, the auctioneer, Lord Edward Morris, Lady Barbara Morris, Kim's parents, alongside all of her cousins, had their Jaws dropping in shock and bewilderment.

The whole crowd was stunned by what they had just witnessed.

"Who the hell is he?"

"Why is he paying such an amount of money for such a disfigured girl?"

"I think he must be some crazy dude, if not why would he pay two million dollars for that worthless piece of trash?"

A lot of side voices were heard from the crowd as they began criticizing Danny Allen's sanity.

Danny Allen wasn't in his military-grade kit, he had dressed up as any normal citizen so as not to draw attention to himself.

Lord Edward Morris immediately urged him to step up and Danny Allen did, Jefferson immediately took a defensive stance not far from Danny Allen.

Lord Edward and the whole Morris family stared askance at Danny Allen, he quite didn't look like the rich type.

"So how do you intend to pay the two million dollars?"

Lady Barbara Morris asked, her eyebrows furrowed in a mixture of bewilderment and curiosity as she stared askance at Danny Allen.

"I just sold my own part of my family inheritance and I would like to marry Kim Morris by paying the sum of two million dollars!"

Danny Allen's voice was laced with a mixture of authority and determination.

Kim Morris was shocked, she had never expected anyone to value her that much.

All her life, she had been disdained and ridiculed by everyone in her family, she and her parents had become a laughing stock in not just her family but the whole of Oakville.

Hearing someone pay two million dollars to marry her made her feel goosebumps all around her.

"What is really going on out there?"

Kim Morris's voice was barely above whispers as she muttered to herself in the slightly opaque housing she was seated in.

In a matter of minutes, the auction was done, and Danny Allen paid the two million dollars.

As he was walking slowly to meet his new bride in the slightly opaque housing where she was kept, Eva Morris and Carol Morris Immediately blocked his path.

"Hey! I really don't know what you saw in Kim Morris, but just know that you can't return her to us again!"

Eva Morris's voice was laced with a mixture of disdain and derision for Kim Morris, she was the worst of Kim Morris's cousins, always taunting her because of her predicament.

"Hey, make sure you treat Kim with a little bit of respect, if you get tired of her, just give me a call and I can link you up to some buyers who would buy her at a good price!"

Marc Morris's voice was laced with humiliation and mockery as he and Kim Morris's other cousins walked out of the Oakville square.

"Finally our family jinx is no longer our family jinx but someone else's jinx!"

Carol Morris's voice was laced with mockery and disdain as she and Kim Morris's cousins laughed out loud as they left the Oakville square.

The Oakville square was now empty, as everyone had gone. Danny Allen completed his bidding and walked slowly towards Kim Morris and opened the zip of the opaque housing.

His gaze fell on the second half of the heart pendant and he immediately realized that Kim Morris was actually the girl that had saved him from that burning apartment years ago.

"Kim, don't worry, it's all going to be fine sooner than you think."

Danny Allen's voice was laced with hope and reassurance as Kim Morris managed to open her eyes and gazed at him.
