The four feral, humanoid jackals jumped at them with their tongues drooling and hanging out.Sesi’s braid first flew and caught the jackal by the neck and burned its throat the point that flesh melted.Leah unsheathed her sword and blocked the claws of another jackal. She tried to release aura into her sword, but it didn’t work out. Still, she countered the jackal’s next attack and slit its face diagonally with a swift double-handed swing.Rowan, on the other hand, was pushed back by the jackal, which managed to cut up the skin and flesh on his arms. Blackback suddenly disappeared from their sight with just one jump. Rowan and Leah immediately remembered the same thing happening with Boggy. The difference between their levels was so much they couldn’t even see the movement of their opponent. However, the spider general, Wendevorr, was able to trace the movement with his eyes, and looked up. He shot up a spear-shaped web at Blackback. Blackback was startled by it, but he managed to catch the web with his tail. “H-He stopped it with his tail?!” Wendevorr frowned. “Let me put this in your skull!” Blackback laughed maniacally as he came falling down straight toward the spider general. Whether it was due to fear or feeling a sense of defeat, Wendevorr’s body did not react fast enough. Blackback guessed that Gary might have been the one that killed Venny, or why would Wendevorr be supporting these four humans?One of these four humans had to be the one controlling the spiders, or so he thought.Along this reasoning, he had chosen to attack Gary as a group and use his numbers to his advantage.Leah and Sesi were stepping forward, but Gary told them, “Stand back. I’ll deal with them.”“There are over a hundred of them,” Leah said.“It’s fine,” he replied. Gary’s focus was not on the minions but only on Blackback. He didn’t wait for the opponents to come to him. He rushed to them, using the strength of his newly formed core. He was able to blitz through their ranks and reach the boss in no time.“What?” Blackback was the only one who was able to see Gary’s movement.Gary’s fist shone a golden light as he threw it at Blackback like a missile. “Glorious Punch!”Blackback couldn’t even raise his guard and properly block the attack. After Blackback’s death, the other jackals ran away without any hesitation. Their fears overcome their loyalty, and so they didn’t even look back as they fled for their lives.Rowan kept hearing messages pop up before him.Thanks to him defeating someone who was leveled more than twice as himself, Rowan leveled up six times, and so he reached 111 now. Sesi also leveled up once and reached 107. Leah also reached the same level as Sesi.Gary did not level up initially, but after he absorbed the energy from Blackback’s body, he leveled up once.He also attained the skill Jackal’s Jolt. A red lightning attack, which he was able to use right away.Seeing the red lightning come out of his hand, Sesi was greatly surprised.“What a cheat. I guess the hero does have so many ways to keep growing stronger.” She looked jealous and salty because her hair was cut. Later that day.Gary helped the spiders track down the jackals and kill them. Except for a few jackals that ran away to other territories, they managed to kill every single jackal that was in Blackback’s territory.Blood spilled everywhere in the place where the jackals briefly ruled for the past few days. The jackals had thought they were going to expand their territory or occupy a larger territory, but now,they need to worry about not dying. After all, the monsters in other territories wouldn’t be kind to them, especially because these jackals would always harass others in groups. Nobody had a good opinion on them.So, the news that Blackback had been killed didn’t even reach the other territories, as the jackals that survived did not dare reveal that news, fearing that they might get targeted even more.Gary, on the other hand, searched everywhere in the jackals’ territory and did not find any living humans.There were only trees everywhere. What shocked and disturbed him was that

The territory that was to the north of the Blackback’s territory was where the brown lizardmen lived.They were the weakest race among the lizardmen and averaged around level 80s, so Gary thought that they would be the perfect targets for his team to level up.However, the issue was that these lizardmen operated very differently from the jackals. They rarely roamed in groups and were very tight with their surveillance. And their territory was also not that big.So, one mistake, and all the lizardmen would be alerted.So, Gary and others set out with the mission to silently kill all the lizardmen in the territory before they could even realize what’s happening.Gary told the spiders to be on standby behind every team member and only be a support when necessary.Gary stopped everyone once they spotted the two lizardmen who were on the watchtower.“They built towers already?” Rowan was shocked. “How are we going to get up those towers without being seen by them?”“Their eyes are very sen

Gary grabbed both the lizardmen by their necks and jumped from the watchtower. He tossed them down. The spiders swiftly laid webs and caught the lizardmen without making any noise.Gary didn’t need a web to cushion himself because he had the ability of spider-hopping. So, he didn’t even need to use aura to land without making any noise.“That was so cool,” Sesi commented.“If it’s you, then you can kill these lizards by yourself,” Rowan said. “But even with the three of us together, we won’t be able to kill them.”“Don’t talk like that, Rowan,” Gary patted his shoulder. “Have some confidence in yourself. Two women are also in our team, but they’re not speaking like you, are they?”Rowan pursed his lips and took a deep breath. “Yeah, you’re right.”Gary then told Wendevorr to do his job.Wendevorr took the two lizardmen over into the distant bushes and then tortured them until they secreted glazing liquid onto their tails. This wouldn’t have been possible if Gary hadn’t paralyzed them.

For the next couple of hours, Rowan and others used the same tactic to kill more and more lizardmen.When the shine on one of the tails ran out, they used the second tail, the backup tail which they had carefully preserved.Thanks to this, they were able to kill more of them.Leah’s new skill Shadowless Sword was no joke. She was able to pierce the opponent and cause them to die without even making them bleed. The more she used the skill, the more she understood its capabilities.Sesi also unlocked a skill called Fire Strand Hanger. With this skill, she was able to send a rope of fire and choke the opponent to death. She only needed to use one strand of hair to do this. This improved her confidence because the strength of her hair was also increasing, which was exactly what she wanted for the time being.Rowan, on the other hand, also earned a skill called Stench Bearer. It was a Low-Grade skill. Rowan naturally wasn’t satisfied with it because his Jackal’s Recovery was a Proper Grade
