HIS RESURGENCE CHAPTER 23“Monday mornings suck.” Scarlet exclaimed as she sank into her chair. She rubbed her aching foot and relished the relief she felt. Monday’s were usually busy. She had had to fill in for Xavier in some meetings while he attended others.She peeled into Xavier’s office to see if he was back too. He was in his office. He stood close to the widow, one hand in his pocket. He always took that posture when he answered the phone.“Sure dad, I can come over for dinner. HIS RESURGENCE CHAPTER 24Leah grit walked into the fairly dark room. It was broad daylight but the curtains in the room was drawn. From what she could see, it was some sort of study. There were lots of books on several.shelves, a desk and chairs.“Have a seat.” She heard someone say. It was a woman. She was seated at a corner where it would be impossible to make out her face. She could tell from her silhouette that it was a middle aged woman, probably in her early fourties. She looked like a rich woman and her aura exuded power. She sat down, her hands placed on her laps.“You know why you’re here don’t you?” The woman asked.“Yes ma’am.” She replied.“And what exactly is that, tell me?”“I am going to be the face of your newly acquired company. I will only act and make decisions when you instruct me to. I’m the boss on the outside, and I answer to you.”“Very good. You’re a smart one. There’s a deal I need you to acquire. You went to business school so you’re not entirely useless.

Too much caffeine isn’t healthy you know?” Scarlet teased.“I’ll need a lot of it today. We have a meeting with silicon housing. Mr Peter has sent in the project and his plans. Yes, he would enjoy using her to make Scarlet feel uncomfortable (he didn't know why he enjoyed that) but the whole vibes he was getting from Leah in general did not leave much room for happiness.
