CHAPTER 42

Alex sat at the bar next to a man wearing a brown fedora hat.

The rest of the bar was empty save for five or six people chatting and ordering drinks.

People were smoking a few feet away from a few customers lying on the floor.

Skewered meat and other meats sat on the bar.

Various people sat around the large open area, a few with their eyes closed, and a couple with their heads lying in their hands.

But none of those things mattered to him, his gaze were fixed at the entrance, like he was waiting for someone to walk through it.

He was indeed waiting for someone. He had been waiting for the past three days. But the person never showed neither did the number she gave to him go through.

Did she play him? Did she lie to him? But why would she do that?

He sighed and gulped the remainder of his glass. He put the glass on the counter and then slowly opened the door.

His head remained bowed and he walked down the steps to the sidewalk, his eyes glued on the pavemen
