Discovery of ancient books

"It's true that my uncle said I failed to become a warrior!"

Plak.

"YOU IDIOT! "What have you been doing all this time in Lake Lime?" I asked the uncle excitedly.

"Why did it fail?" Asked the uncle once again.

Fen Lian sighed softly. "I failed cultivation; I didn't make the cut when everyone else did. That's why teacher uncle gave me time to go home and do some more training, after which I'll return to Limau Lake to retest," Fen Lian replied.

"Fool! Uncle doesn't want to know that you have to become a warrior in order to serve the kingdom of Sebrang. If you fail the second time, you'd better leave Jiangnan!" Uncle said as he walked away.

Fen Lien glared in disbelief at his uncle's words. What he had feared before was now happening, and his uncle was angry at him for not being able to become a warrior. His stay at Limau Lake had been forced on him by his uncle, which made him feel a little relieved that his uncle didn't demand anything from him. But once he returned, he was forced to swallow this bitter reality for the umpteenth time.

Fen Lian was an orphan whose parents were killed in the battle that took place in Jiangnan City many years ago. Fen Lian was only seven years old at the time, and she still remembers exactly how it happened. After the death of her parents, Fen Lian now lives with her uncle, her father's younger brother. Not surprisingly, her uncle is very demanding of Fen Lian to practice martial arts and wants to make Fen Lian a warrior because they were born into a mediocre family. To earn a decent living like the rest of society, they had to become warriors and then serve in one of the most famous kingdoms in the city of Jiangnan. But to become a vassal of this king, not everyone can enter. There are several conditions that must be met by them, one of which is that warriors with great cultivation abilities will easily be appointed vassals of the king for life with a guarantee of a decent life.

Fen Lian stared straight ahead with an empty gaze. Every time she was injured, she would remember the incident where she could see her parents' lives being taken in that battle. A pang ran through her body. In this room, Fen Lian sat on the bed as she recalled the faces of her parents that were still vivid in her memory. The two parents who never once scolded her nor demanded that she be like this or like that Unlike her uncle, who was always demanding no matter what, he always hurt her.

Fen Lian walked towards the door, opened it, and walked towards her parents' room. It just so happened that Fen Lian's room and her parents' room were side by side, so she didn't have to walk far to get to the room she was aiming for.

Arriving at the room, Fen Lian held the door handle and opened it slowly. The room looked very dark and smelled musty, like a room that had never been lived in. Fen Lian closed the door again and opened the window in the corner of the room. Once the window was open, light could enter the room to provide some illumination.

The room was still tidy, with the bed and bookshelves still neatly displayed. Nothing had changed at all; everything still looked neat; it was just dirty because of the amount of dust that had become cobwebs. Fen Lian walked down the hall as she looked at the shelves filled with books left behind by her father.

Fen Lian still remembered that her father was very fond of books during his lifetime. There was no day without reading a book, even if it was only for thirty minutes a day. Her own father was also very proficient in martial arts; it's just that a long time ago, her father did not want to enter the kingdom to serve there.

On one occasion, Fen Lian saw firsthand a royal guard coming to her residence and looking for her father. Unintentionally, Fen Lian also peeked at her father's conversation with the bodyguard; she heard that the bodyguard wanted to invite her father to enter the kingdom and become a warrior there. But her father refused, and not just once or twice did the royal guards come. And every time they came, they would invite the father to enter the kingdom. Initially,  they asked the father to become a bodyguard, but got a refusal, so they again offered to become a teacher in the kingdom. The answer the father gave was still the same, namely, refusal.

Until one day, when Fen Lian got the chance to chat with her father in this room, Fen Lian was curious about her father's rejection, so she asked him directly.

But the answer that her father gave her was able to amaze her; until now, Fen Lian still remembers that sentence.

Flashback on.

"Father, why do you always refuse their invitation to become a warrior in the kingdom? Don't you know that the guarantee of becoming a warrior there is very good? Don't you want to advance?" Asked Fen Lian, the little boy.

"Fen Lian, remember your son. Don't ever think that I don't want a better life in the future; everyone does. However, I remember very well that my goal of becoming a warrior is to find many brothers, not enemies. I also want to use my knowledge to help others. The matter of life has already been arranged; you don't need to worry that your life will be miserable later." The father explained.

"That means if we want to become warriors, our intentions must be sincere because we want to use the knowledge to help people, right?" I asked Fen Lian innocently.

The father nodded.

Flashback off.

Fen Lian sighed as she recalled her conversation with her father.

Until a few seconds later...

Bugh.

"Awaa!!!"

"What is this?" Asked Fen Lian, holding her hand that had fallen on a large book with a dark brown cover.

Fen Lian grabbed the worn book and adjusted its position so that it was facing her. A thick book with a worn, dark brown cover. Fen Lian raised her head. She was sure that the book fell from the shelf above her; it was impossible for a book to fall suddenly from the sky.

"What is this book? It looks so old," Fen Lian muttered as she rubbed the worn cover.

Fen Lian slowly opened the cover of the book to satisfy her curiosity, which had been thrashing to see the contents of the book. Until it came to the first page that had made her dizzy to death.

The welcoming words were in ancient Roman script, which Fen Lian didn't recognize at all. Because she was a millennial child, she could not read this Roman writing.

"How can I read it if the writing is all ancient Roman?" said Fen Lian, opening the next page.

"I'm sure you must have an ancient Roman manual; I'm very curious about this book. I need to find the manual first so I can read this book," said Fen Lian excitedly.

She began to search for the ancient Roman manual on the shelf lined with Roman dictionaries. She came to a large, thick dictionary with the word you. Fen Lian reached for the dictionary and picked it up. So now there were two large books on the table in front of him: an ancient book and a Roman dictionary.

"I have to study this book so I can read this ancient book. It seems interesting," he said.
