The fresh air was filled with the sweet aroma of cotton candy and popcorn. Laughter from children and the sounds of attractions at Disneyland echoed all around me.

I glanced to my side at Luna, who was laughing heartily while pulling me toward the next ride. There was a joy radiating from her face, something rarely seen considering how busy and competent she was at her job.

We had just gotten off the roller coaster, and adrenaline was still coursing through my veins. Luna, with a wide smile on her face, looked so alive and free, a stark contrast to the image of the busy woman everyone else saw. I couldn’t help but smile seeing her like this.

“Lucas, let's try that ride!” Luna pointed enthusiastically at a large carousel.

“I didn’t know you could be this excited,” I said, laughing.

“When else would I have a chance like this?” she replied with a cheerful laugh.

I followed her lead, feeling the same freedom. This was a side of Luna I rarely saw. Usually, she was always serious, full of
