Aid from an Ex

That morning, Lucas was getting ready for a business trip out of town. Luna, always busy with company matters, could only accompany Lucas to the front door.

“Take care, Lucas. I will miss you,” Luna said, smiling though there was a hint of worry in her eyes.

Lucas gently pinched Luna's cheek. “Don't worry, I'm more concerned about you. Is your family still bothering you?”

Luna shook her head. “No, everything is fine now.”

Lucas nodded and then hugged Luna tightly. “In that case, my only task will be missing you, darling. Don’t be too hard on yourself at the office, okay?” Lucas playfully tapped the tip of Luna's nose.

Luna nodded. “I know. You too, don’t overwork yourself there.”

Lucas kissed Luna's forehead softly before letting go of the hug. “I’ll be back soon. Joe is already waiting for me in the car. Goodbye, Luna.”

“Goodbye, Lucas,” Luna replied, watching her husband walk towards the car where Joe, his assistant, was waiting.
