Chapter 61

I woke up to the sound of screeching tyres zooming into the drive way. It was still a little dark outside and I sprang to my feet, sprinting towards my window.

I caught a glimpse of Mirel's silhouette zoom past in a blur into the house.

I opened my door slightly and there Mirel was, pacing the floor frantically. 

Her clothes looked ruffled, her usually silky straight Bob looked like she just finished a scuffle. Is that...blood? She looked shaken, dishevelled and frightened. Her eyes were void of its regular mischievous gleam. They looked distant and hollow.
