Michael's POV I was just setting the table for Ayla's food when I noticed her move on the bed. I approached her. "Ayla, are you awake?" I asked to confirm I wasn't seeing things and then I saw her lips move. I moved closer to her, bringing my ears to her face but she wasn't saying anything anymore. Suddenly she grabbed my head, with a strength I never thought she would have, and pushed her lips to mine. I was stunned for a complete minute that I couldn't do anything but let her take control of my lips as she seemingly explores my mouth with her tongue. After some minutes, I got my act together and pulled myself out of her arms. She smiled in visible pain and fell back into oblivion, leaving me to brood about the bud of tender feelings she had just ignited in my desolated heart.~~~~~ It had been a couple of minutes since the romantic incident and I still couldn’t get my act together. My mind was twisted and my thoughts distorted, the only thing I could about was her soft, excit
Pablo’s POV My mind was not settled neither was it disturbed. It was hanging loose, confused and wondering. It happens that way sometimes and the only cure was Kathie’s nice, warm and tender flesh against mine. I dialed her line again after several failed attempts at trying to reach her but it still wasn’t going through. I was feeling totally drained and powerless; maybe I should just go to a club. No, the images of what happened the last time I did warned me not to try the club again. I still felt like I had been with a woman and the things that were stolen from could confirm that but Smith had been adamant that I wasn’t since the CCTV didn’t show a woman. I had come home very out of my senses, though not drunk but I wasn’t thinking right, and so it was just assumed that I had drank out myself. I tried Kathie’s phone one more time and this time, it didn’t ring, the care line just sang into my ear that the phone was switched. I stared at the number as it disconnected and I got rea
Michael’s POV I had finally managed to shrug her off after countless minutes of thinking, just when my mind was accepting a fantasy of myself and Ayla, I was glad I finally remembered about the main reason this whole thing happened. I couldn’t possibly wait for her to get well before checking it out, so I opened my laptop and watched the recent recordings. There was nothing out of the ordinary till I noticed a lean figure move stealthily around the house to the back. The figure looked more like a man with minor muscular build, he poked his head into the shattered back door and slowly retreated from the house, turning into the alleyway before claiming off the walls. He had carried a sniper rifle with him, which was utterly suspicious. Did Lucille have so many enemies? What did she dabble in to cause such then? I couldn’t seem to get it. I set the laptop aside not disconnecting it from the camera as I still needed to monitor it. I would have gladly gone to bed, but if I did, Ayla wou
Ayla’s POV I finally woke up after several continuous loss of consciousness in which I would constantly pass out before I could get myself. My head hurt badly, my eye sockets were lazy and tired, and my muscles had gone flabby and soft. I managed to pull my lids apart, my consciousness oozing into my body slowly. The interior of the room did not seem familiar, it was nothing like my room I turned my face to the right side; a bedside glass table and a standing lamp. I looked back at the ceiling, it didn’t look right but it felt nice. I snuggled deeper into the bed spread, a feeling of divine comfort spreading warm into my body. I remained in that position for a long time until my head pain deteriorated. I slowly picked myself up from the fluffy pillow and tossed my leg over the bed to the cool terracotta floor. I moved with abrupt agility to reduce the pain that attacked my muscles when I moved them. Then as swift as I could, I got up and walked out of the room to a
Pablo’s POV It was fresh news, a rather intoxicating one. I had been wondering where I might had once met Ayla Rodriguez when a load of good news landed. The time was few minutes past one, but dawn seemed nowhere in sight. Scott’s call got me started once again, his calls all seem to hold desirable news and the present one was as desirable as can be. “Jenie was sent to spy on Ayla and he had seen her sneak into a compound only to come out minutes after losing consciousness. But that isn’t the actual click, sir. The click right now is that Jenie did not follow Ayla’s savior after she collapsed, instead he went in to check just what had them sneaking around a person’s apartment at that time. He found it suspicious and stayed around…” “So, what’s the main news in that?” “He killed Anurag sir.” “Anurag? The Viking brother that had lost hope in ever conquering me and had at the time, ran away with Donovan?” I was shocked and confused. Was Anurag seriously dead? Why was he back anyway
Ayla's POV I barely slept even after Michael had tucked me in, waited a while and left. My mind kept wondering what it was that her husband could have done to warrant such death right in front of his own family. The person that assassinated him could have had enough heat to let him be alone before finishing him off. Why kill him in front of his five year old daughter? My head was beginning to hurt again after several minutes of thinking deep, trying to unravel an incomplete mystery. Yes, I felt I wasn't told the whole side of the story only a minute part that would enable me to feel pity, as I always do, and help. As much as I tried to defend Michael in my head from allowing my mind tag him as a deceiver, there was no other thing to it. He wasn't telling me the whole truth, only a part of it. He had said she was a woman he had saved along with her daughter, why then did he try so hard to find out a little secret which she had kept from him, even to the extent of getting me hurt? The
Michael's POV Knock, knock, knock I was ushered into his office by his thick voice and when I did enter I met him on a call. I sat into one of the chairs that were opposite him at the other side of his table. "Yes, please do come up, Gabriel. I have a work for you." He said and ended the call. What sort of work? Hopefully it wasn't the one I was going to ask for. "Michael right?" "Yes sir." "How are you doing? And how is your case coming up?" he asked "Its coming up fine, its not necessarily a complicated case and it is already half-solved, though I got your message about wanting me to practice how to close a case totally with it, I still feel like I have been underestimated sir." I stated, looking at him in the eyes. "Underestimated? How?" I needed to speed up the conversation before Gabriel came up to collect the new case file. "I may have lacked enough knowledge to properly close up a case file but it does not mean that I cannot handle a whole case properly." "What are
Michael’s POV I arrived at the city’s hospital and parked my car at the gate. I walked in into the big building that overlooked the city’s main road and wondered why this place wasn’t named the city’s central. I had already booked an appointment with Dr Brand, the forensic doctor in charge of the autopsy on the victims of the serial murder. I walked in on the receptionist, holding up my ID card in her face. She nodded briefly and showed me to a room where I was to settle in wait for Dr Brand. Few minutes after, he walked in and greeted me. “Hello, I am Dr Brand and you must be…” “Detective Hastings of the Special Investigations Department of the western division.” He chuckled and snorted; “That’s quite grand of a title for a junior in the system, don’t you think?” “A junior so I am guessing you had prior knowledge of who I am?” “Of course, the one newbie that walked; no flew himself up the ladder of authority in less three months after his arrival into the
Ayla’s POV “Get her out, now.” Shuffling feet approaching got my eyes opened again. I had barely slept, maybe just dozed off a bit. A man towered over me, looking straight in the eye before leaning down to pull me up. “What are you doing?” I struggled against his sinew arms on mine “Let go.” He suddenly let go and I fell to the bed with a thud. “Get up and get out.” “What is this? Who are you anyway?” I glared at the ma from before that instructed me to eat and then leave. Was he the one who saved me from Pablo? Why then was he acting so strange? “Get her out then.” He turned to leave as he ordered the same man again. “Wait.” I got down hastily from the bed, my feet almost tangled in the sheets before reaching him. “Do on touch, talk from a distance.” His voice was ice cold and I wondered why he saved me when he was just going to be so rude and throw me out again. “Who are you?” “What sort of a ridiculous question is that? After latching so tightly to me, I expect you would
Ayla’s POV Where was I? I could barely remember anything, my memory took a pause at the time I was saved by an unknown man from Pablo and my head ached from trying to recall what had happened after that. I tried to get up but my limbs were weak, it was like I had been sedated and I could barely control my body to move. I opened my eyes to a luxurious view of dropping chandelier of rather expensive cut. Where was I? I tried turning my head to look around and I noticed that it was definitely not my room and definitely not Michael’s, so I was not anywhere near home. Was I kidnapped? That was very unlikely because I felt way too comfortable in the feather like bed to have actually been kidnapped. “It is about time you woke up. After ruining my evening and scattering my plans you do not deserve any more sleep than you have already gotten.” A thick voice welcomed me followed by a handsome man with muscular build. He did not look familiar in any way but his facial features made my head ac
Pablo’s POV There was still no call from Gunner, nothing to indicate that he had survived but I was sure he had. He has faced worse and he conquered them all. An abrupt shooting spree was nothing he could not handle. I just needed to focus and keep my head in the game. Smith pushed the steel doors open and walked in sluggishly, panting heavily before flat of an armless sofa. He was too weak to be of any use to me, he was just a waste of space but I needed bait, a worm to catch the stubborn fish from the water and he seemed like the only willful option if he would agree. “Smith, come over.” I ordered and watched him sluggishly drag himself off the chair and shuttle towards me. “We need to get them to come after me again. You are gonna be the bait and you ain’t gonna complain or say a word out of the context, here or there.” “A bait? That will not be possible. I cannot be a part of your bullshit plan to sabotage innocent lives.” He yelled back at me, suddenly revitalized “They are
Ayla's POV He seriously only thought about himself and he even had the guts to admit it so blatantly. I hate him so much, so fucking much. What does he take me for anyway? Keeping me in the dark is going to keep me safe, total bullshit. Pablo will still come for me, I have heard of his numerous killing escapades and he is definitely not going to let me be if he realizes I am still alive. There's only one way to it; though two actually I choose the one that helps me show Michael just how ruthless I can be. He thinks I am just a little girl that he can toss around well he will just have to see, the hard way, that I can survive in the wild. "Ayla, there you are. Michael came looking for you...What happened?" My mother ranted off, immediately I walked in I stomped off from her presence and shut the door to my room. "I am going to show you Michael, that I can do just what you are doing." I vented out my anger, tossing some needed clothes and accessories into my bag. I arranged a boot
Pablo’s POV“Take him down, gunner!” I yelled. It was a raid, a bloody raid that I had not seen coming and it was not Torrance this time, the Vikings never worked like this. They were always to afraid to take a bold move, not to talk of a move as daring as this one.I could not wait for his response neither could I see him finish off the intruder, he would report himself to me. I shielded myself out, the intruder had used a Sub machine Gun and while his attacks were not directed at a particular target, he just shot as much as he could, all round.I passed through the back door, using the stair way that led to an empty underground garage. I got into my car and drove back home. On my way out, I saw the bodies of my soldiers lying outside the warehouse. The intruder had killed them all silently and it had happened during the call. They plan to take Kathie, get their friend and keep me on the losing end. This was not the work of the Vikings, they definitely had a greater help else, they w
Ayla’s POV He was a lunatic. How could he even think of cutting off my limbs to send to my parents? I did not even want them getting involved in this because of my disobedience. “You cannot try it. Smith will not allow it.” I yelled at him, trying to conceal my emotions. He burst out in a maniac laugh, lolling his head back and forth continuously. “You are really feisty. I like that. But I’d like to see Smith try. Gunner, hit her up.” He stared at me and took a sip of his drink, then a long drag to take it down. The heavily built man that had kidnapped me earlier walked towards me, swinging a mallet as he closed the gap between us. I shook in fear, and almost peed on myself when a phone rang in a distance. It sounded so distinct as I could only hear Gunner’s footsteps approaching me. Suddenly, he paused and walked over to Pablo; “Torrance.” He simply said to Pablo, who collected the phone and answered the call. It was a video call.Pablo’s POV“Perfect timing, I was just about
Michael’s POV I knew something was off. I felt it all the way to her house and at her mother’s words I began to panic but I tried as much as I could to swallow it and showed her a smile. "I really wanted to see her to clear some things up but it's fine, I will just come back later." I turned and left before she would make me say any other thing; I was worried that I might scare her, over something that might not even be true. I needed to see Donovan and Anurag to set out how we would protect our loved ones. Ayla mustn't suffer because of me. Pablo was too heartless to care about other people's life; he would gladly take their lives if they got in his way or tried to show authority, classic traits of a mafia boss. I drove to the cathedral and to my surprise; I met all the Viking brothers who had lived together in the Villa, along with their wives and children. They were really in danger, for them to have left their luxurious and comfortable home to an old cathedral with nothing val
Michael’s POV The weekend ran fast with couple plates of lovely dishes, hours beside my pool and some few minutes of going through my set out plan, and then I was soon turning my tie to the rhythm of work blues. I was going to have a splendid time at work, packing my few personal belongings from my office back to my home, there wasn’t much there anyway. A day to resign officially; Miss Sarah was bound to ask me the reason for such sudden decision and I had not made up my mind on what to tell her. I whistled a tune to match my mood as I tightened the tie around my neck. I put on my suit and bent to pick my shoes from its rack. I noticed a paper under the bed; it was crumpled and as I pulled up the folded parts I saw that it was dirty and a little soft where it had gone damp. I read the content; it was a quick sketch of my findings from the beginning of the search on the Viking’s case right up until now. Had I squeezed it like this? Even if I did, I would not have thrown under the bed
Michael’s POV I was mapping out our plan for a successful victory. We need to infiltrate the Mafian cycle to conquer this battle once and for all. Scott was Pablo’s consigliere, who was more like his underboss as Smith was nothing to write home about. He had not contributed to the first Viking/Mafian war and he has certainly not helped in the course of Pablo’s reign. Pablo was soon to resign from his position but Smith was less of a Mafia boss material. Hence to cut down Pablo’s wings of authority, Scott was the first target, he needed to be done away with in order to over throne Pablo from his well known game. Donovan had said something about hitting Pablo where it would hurt already. Was Scott the part that would hurt? If so, then it was a smart decision. Scott would need to be taken down first in order to win this fight, as Scott’s absence (death) would make Pablo limp in a foot. Pablo ran a Mafian household that was not necessarily connected by blood or marriage. Scott was not
