No Longer Loser

Einer could see the bad things that would happen to him just by looking at Chris's fist. Every step made him shiver, his body remembering what had happened every time he and Chris interacted.

But a second later Einer realized if he no longer had a reason to be afraid, he shouldn't hang his head like a loser. Remember what Oliver said; Einer should be proud, he was a Perceus.

"You're done, you damn loser!"

With his fear gone, Einer could easily dodge Chris' punch. He stepped aside and made Chris seemed like a joke. Everyone was watching them and Chris, who was holding back his embarrassment, looked at Einer sharply.

"What are you doing, loser...?"

"Avoiding you. Did you think I'd stay still when you threw your hands at me?" Einer replied, didn't look afraid.

But that calm answer made Chris' eyes bulge with anger.

"What did you say? How dare you say that?" Chris tried to hit Einer again, but this time Einer was able to hold him back.

"It turns out that we're just as strong, but why have I always kept quiet when you hit me? I was a fool, but now I'll stop." Einer pushed Chris away from him. "Because only a fool does nothing when he is hurt."

"Wow... awesome. Did you just experience the 'reborn' phenomenon? You sound like a different person, not like that loser who always keeps his head down." Chris approached Einer. "This doesn't suit you, Einer. Stop acting like a lion. I don't understand where you got the luxury car in front of this building, but do you think that just by sitting in its seat, you can raise your level?"

Einer just stared at Chris who was trying to bring him down by mocking him.

"Look at your appearance. Trying to look like a young master? How pathetic."

Sam came over to add to his mockery. "What are you doing all this for, Einer? Wow, look at that leather jacket. You stole it from a good place."

Anton came over and put his arm around Einer's broad shoulders. "Or is it an imitation? Your leather jacket, this fresh perfume scent? Even your shoes... are they imitation?" asked Anton, facing Einer and tried to touch his shoulder but Einer quickly avoided it, making Anton fall right faced Einer's shiny shoes.

"Call them imitations until you can see your reflection in them," said Einer coldly, making Anton feel angry.

"F*ck," Anton said, standing up straight with his eyes glaring at Einer. "Where did you buy that nerve that doesn't suit you, huh?"

"I can't take it anymore," said Chris, lunging from behind Anton to attack Einer. "I'm sick of seeing this loser keep act so arrogant!"

Chris tried to hit Einer who kept avoiding him. The man's anger had Einer backed into a corner, but Einer tried to keep his cool even though he kept moving backwards and almost got several female students hit by Chris' anger that aimed only at him.

"Stop dodging, coward! Face me with those shiny shoes of yours!" said Chris.

Einer laughed at him. "You look like a desperate little boy."

"F*ck! Shut up!" Chris managed to hit Einer when he no longer had anywhere to run. Einer crashed into the wall and Chris was in front of him, squeezing him tightly and pressing his neck with his arms.

"Urgh!"

"Who's the little boy here, huh? Me or you?" asked Chris, his intimidating aura making Einer's eyes a little tremble. "You think you can play me with this fake appearance? No one can save you from me today, you f*cking loser. You have to take responsibility for my left eye! Remember?"

Chris smiled fiercely, thinking he had succeeded in bringing Einer down because the people watching them would definitely think that Einer had committed a crime on him and he was the victim, but Einer laughed at him once again.

"Ah... it was your eye that I hurt because I was trying to save my life? Did you also forget that you tried to kill me that night?" said Einer, making people even more shocked.

"Gosh, is that true? What kind of fight did those two guys have?"

"Did they try to kill each other? But Chris usually likes to annoy Einer tho."

"But I don't think Chris will go that far."

Hearing people begin to be on his side, Einer feigned fear and weakened his voice.

"I was so scared and thought I was really going to die that night, but I survived because I managed to counter your blows with one strike. I didn't know it would damaging your eye, sorry," Einer said, and he became cold as he said, "but at that time you knew I was going to die and you still hit me like you didn't care about the risk."

Einer slammed Chris' hands away from his body.

Chris was cornered, his face looked like he was trying hard to made an excuse but it looked even funnier in Einer's eyes.

"But my eye is deformed! I might never be able to use it again!" Chris said, trying to help himself.

"I also got a lot of stitches in my back head and almost died of blood loss." Einer showed the back of his head which was still plastered and had not completely dried up from the stitches. "But I'm grateful that I survived and was able to live. Like me, you should be thankful that you didn't fall at your worst, because at that time I could have missed and injured both your eyes."

"F*CK YOU!" Chris tried to punch again; Einer moved to Chris's left side, a blind spot where he could not see Einer's strike on his knee and made Chris fall down instantly.

"We're even, Chris. What makes you try so hard to seek justice? Or do you just want to find justification for your mistakes? Stealing my lover, bothering me every time you see me and making my life a living hell. You're even still trying to kill me. What's wrong with you?"

"I hate you so much," Chris replied, "I don't like losers who can't even protect themselves."

"Now I can protect myself, so stop this 'The Storng and The Loser' game because I still want to live in peace."

"Do you think you can still live in peace after I ruined your life? Amora Hills, isn't that woman very precious to you?" Einer looked at Chris who was again trying to bring him down. "I took her from you, Einer. The woman you love is mine."

Einer looked at Amora who was still in place, also looking at Einer with a hint of guilt in her cold eyes.

"Forget it, just take her." Einer's words took Chris by surprise, and so did Amora. "I don't want to deal with a woman who dated me to making fun of me, and a woman who doesn't even consider me human so she just stood by while I was almost beaten to death."

Amora looked dumbfounded by Einer's sharp words.

"Anyway, women like her are not more important than my life right now. I can get 100 women like her if I want because I'm telling you, I'm a Perceus."

The corridor was suddenly very quiet after Einer finished his words. An awkward silence filled every eye that was now glancing at each other before looking at Einer who was delirious in their eyes.

It only took a few seconds before they laughed at Einer's words, including Chris. Sam and Anton came to help Chris up, and their laughter didn't stop.

"Haha... this is ridiculous," Chris said, "I guess I should apologize for hitting your head too hard, Einer, but I didn't expect your brain damage to be this serious."

"Perceus? Really? I'm even surprised someone like you can saying that name," said Sam, belittling Einer.

Einer sighed, slightly regretful as he should have known his words would not be believed.

"I understand you're desperate to shed that loser title, but not by overestimating it, Einer. You look so desperate and pathetic," Anton said, "there are even a lot of shiny fake shoes, so don't talk as if you can step on me." Anton spoke next to Einer's ear with emphasis.

Anton glanced at Einer's pants pocket, forcing himself to grab something there and he pulled out Einer's car keys.

"Hey, give it back!" Einer was trying to get the car keys when Anton passed it to Sam, it was like they were playing baseball but they were playing with Einer's patience. "I said give it back!"

"Take it if you can. How can you stop being a loser if you can't even grab the keys back? This is a very basic loser game, Einer," Sam said, throwing the keys back to Anton.

Then just as Einer was about to grab it, Anton jumped high to throw the key at Sam and landed while hitting Einer on the head, where his wound was.

"Argh!" Einer fell down in pain clutching his wound, while Anton and Sam laughed and Chris smiled haughtily—satisfied of what his friends did.

Anton knelt down to grabbed Einer and said beside him, "I'll return the car to its rightful owner, and I won't say that you stole it; so be nice as usual, boy."

Anton walked away, receiving the key from Sam's throw but suddenly it was thrown far behind Anton—even though everyone saw the key being thrown towards Anton, but it was now under a woman's mary jane.

"Lady Garden ...."

Einer saw Garden picking up the car keys, and her presence, who was known as a Perceus, made people dumbfounded. They shut their mouths tightly as Garden's shoes echoed through the corridor, towards Einer who was kneeling in front of her.

"Ekhem... Dear Lady Garden Perceus, I don't want to make a scene that bothers you but I think I need to set the record straight on something that might make you feel uncomfortable," Anton said, looking away. "So, this little loser has said something that hurt the honor of your great family by claiming to be one of you. Ah, as his friend, I apologize profusely."

Garden didn't say anything, just glanced at Einer with a cold gaze that seemed to order Einer to get up. When Einer stood up, she spoke.

"You really should apologize indeed."

"What did you say?"

Garden looked at Anton, with a sharp gaze that seemed to freeze the man in an instant.

"Playing around with things that don't belong to you, you should apologize properly."

Everyone was shocked as Garden kicked Anton's leg, making him fall flat on his face right in front of Einer. Anton was dumbfounded as Garden held his head down when he wanted to stand up, it was a humiliating insult but Anton couldn't do anything about it since the woman holding his head was a Perceus.

"Don't play around in a crowded place like the school corridor, are you that desperate for attention?" Garden asked, leaving Chris helpless and could only watch his friend being humiliated. "And watch what's your cocky mouth going to spit out, because I can't stand with people like you, who dare to call my last name without shame."

Garden looked at Einer who was actually surprised at what she did.

"Do you want to tell father what happened here?" Garden asked Einer, leaving the others shocked and Einer a little confused.

"No. I don't want to ruin the day I got the car as a gift, just to think about this kind of thing," Einer replied, returning to his calm and puffing out his chest.

Since Einer did not want to prolong the matter, Garden let go of Anton and threw the car keys back to Einer—the owner.

"Let's go home, it looks like you still can't go back to school with your health."

"Alright."

Einer left his bullies with his head held high, no defeat for him this time. While people didn't believe what they witnessed; thinking Einer was just talking nonsense when calling himself a Perceus but Garden's presence and what they were talking about made those people inevitably have to swallow the reality—even though it was painful for some.

Like Chris and Amora, who still couldn't believe that the man they used to see as a loser, was indeed part of the untouchable Perceus Family.
