For a moment that seemed to linger on more than usual, it felt like Joseph might want to continue with the confrontation, but something in the way Justin held his stare on him made him reconsider. But before he could accept that he lost, he tried one more trick.“Do you even know what you are talking about? How dare you threaten to lock down this place and ban me from ever coming here?” He asked.“You would only have to wait to find out if you do not let go of my friend this minute.” Justin said with a calm that seems vicious. With a grunt of frustration, Joseph finally released his grip in Robert, shoving him away.“This is not over.” Joseph said before turning to the staff. “I want my items packed.” The boutique, eager to quickly diffuse the situation were happy one of the men had backed down, and they quickly went to gather Joseph’s selections and began packing them with utmost care. Joseph still stood there, looking at Justin. As both men stared at each other in defiance, Joseph
Joseph Breaker arrived at his company in his convoy, he actually went there as he left the boutique, his mind still reeling from the encounter at the boutique. He walked briskly as he alight from the car, through the mosaic floored lobby. As usual, his presence commanded attention as his employees stood up to greet and bow down to him. They made way for him as he walked, sensing the urgency with which he carried his steps, walking towards the executive suite. The Company’s Vice President. Mr. Carlson, was waiting for him outside his office. He bowed slightly before him as Joseph got closer to him. Joseph acknowledged with a nod as he open the door to his office and went in, followed closely by Carlson.“What is it now Carlson?” Joseph snapped, barely breaking his stride.“It is about the foreign executive from the Drogonuv Corporation Headquarters. He has been making some very tough inquiries and we believe he is here to discuss some critical issues that might affect our operations.”
Few hours later after leaving the boutique, Justin and his friends arrived at the headquarters of the rival company. The building was beautiful, with glass walls that reflected the city’s skyline and a grand entrance that exudes power and prestige. Justin felt this drive in him as he stepped out their car and walked through the revolving doors into the spacious lobby. His assistant, Mark, approached the reception desk and spoke briefly with the receptionist. A few moments later, they were being escorted through a series of hallways, the decor on the building becoming increasingly visible as they got to the heart of the company, it exudes wealth. Finally, they came to a stop in front of a pair of polished wooden doors.“Mr. Breaker is waiting for you in the boardroom.” the receptionist said, opening the doors. As they all stepped inside, Justin’s eyes quickly scanned the room. The boardroom was filled with senior executives of the company, all seated around a massive, polished table.
“By taking solid steps.” Justin replied. “We could start with a joint task force which would be assigned with the duties of investigating the leaks from both companies. They can work together with representatives from both companies in order to uncover the truth and implement action that could safeguard our interests.” Joseph looked at Justin as he said that. The meeting was progressing well but he could not just forget what happened at the boutique earlier with Justin. The fact that someone who stood up to him few hours ago was the same person he was answering to now as regards matters that have to do with the future of his company was unsettling to say the least. He did not want to accept that this person could actually be the real representative from Drogonuv Corporation Headquarters sent to address some issues with the branch, which now had to do with him as the CEO of one of the foremost rival companies of the Drogonuv Corporation in the country. Their operations were mostly co
Justin looked at Joseph as he continued talking, feeling satisfied. He did not know he would meet Joseph again, especially not in this present circumstance and while he was visibly surprised to see and understand he was the CEO he was meeting up with, he was happy to be discussing with him once again, clearly in a position that seems to be above him. He was happy he did not cower back at the boutique, he stood up to him for trying to bully Robert and he was happy he did, if not, he would not know how this meeting may have turned out. Probably more of Joseph's bullying as people like him always like to assert dominance and control. They are generally arrogant. As they continued their discussion, Justin made mention of the corporate espionage issue, once again, his confidence and the expertise with which he presented it commanding attention. He still did not know Joseph was trying to intimidate him with the questions he asked as he was able to answer him rather confidently. All he just
As the meeting between Justin and Joseph came to end, there was tension in the air. It had been a showdown of wit and subtle power play, each man unwilling to back down. Justin was able to maintain his composure all through the period the meeting lasted, despite the CEO’s attempt to belittle him. Joseph Breaker, leaning back in his chair with an air of renewed authority, faced and addressed Justin one last time before the meeting drew to an end, trying his luck once again to see if he could intimidate him. “You know.” He began, his tone was filled with condescension towards him, “It is quite amusing to see a mere executive from the Drogonuv Corporation Headquarters trying to challenge someone of my status. I know Nelson Drogonuv personally, and If you do not start behaving yourself, I will make sure you lose your job. You are way in over your head.”Justin narrowed his eyes and he met Joseph’s gaze with a firm resolve. “I dare you to try.” Justin replied to him. “You might think no o
Back in his office after the meeting has ended, Joseph Breaker, the CEO of the rival company, watched Justin and his friends leave the building from the security cameras in his office with a mix of frustration and unhappiness. The encounter at the boutique had really left a sour taste in his mouth, and he was determined to use any available opportunity to undermine Justin’s position.Once they had left, Joseph called on his senior executives and key advisors for an impromptu meeting. His large office was quickly filled up with the senior executives seated around his large desk as they had curious glances on.“Alright.” Joseph started to address them as they were all seated, his voice was low but intense. “We need to deal with the Drogonuv executive that just left now and his demands. He is making very serious allegations about corporate espionage , and we can not afford to let this slide. If he is not careful, which I think he won’t be, he could cause very serious damage to the reputa
As Justin, his assistant, Mark and Robert made their way through the busy streets towards the company’s building, each of their minds were preoccupied with personal thoughts about the ongoing investigation and what they would do in ensuring it goes smoothly. The weight of the recent confrontation with Joseph Breaker is still fresh in their minds, especially after getting his company’s response a day later. Justin, however, was determined to stay focused as he made his plan. He would not let anything stop him.As he continued to think, his thoughts were distracted as his phone rang, cutting through the hum of conversation in the taxi. He looked at the screen and saw it was Lilly’s mother calling him. He was slightly surprised and his face turned into a frown as he answered the call, not sure of why she was calling and what to expect from her.“Hello?” He said with a steady voice.“Mr. Justin, hello, it is Lilly’s mother.” Her anxious voice came through on the other end. “I hope I am no
